I really enjoyed this stand alone story from Donna Grant. Dwight was a great character, but Emma while likable, did get on my nerves a few times. Overall it was a great story and well written.

The bonus story was also amazing and well worth the read.

This sounds like a holiday romance but reads more like an action movie with Christmas as some of the backdrop & a nice developing romance. Emmy was a compelling woman in hiding from the mob boss that’s trying to put a hit on her because she witnessed a murder. Dwight is former military that owns a ranch where the US Marshal protecting Emmy brings her when he realizes there’s a leak in his organization. Of course this close quarters situation leads to some sparks flying. Also there’s the threat to Emmy’s life lurking in the time leading up to the trial she’s supposed to testify. Highly recommend reading this book! Just don’t expect a sweet Christmas romance

Emmy Garrett is on the run. A mob boss wants her dead. A US Marshal decides to hide her with a friend out in the middle of Montana. Dwight Reynolds in that friend. He's got the experience to protect her and keep her safe. It doesn't take long for feeling to form between the two but with possible death hanging over Emmy she doesn't want to consider love just in case she doesn't make it. I like this book. It's more of a suspense than a holiday themed book but I loved the suspense and i Loved the relationship building between the two main characters. I stayed engaged throughout the story. A great read for me.

Emmy’s attempt to ensure justice is served has placed her in danger and she isn’t sure who to trust as the people who are after her seem to have insight into her plans. Dalton has been tasked with keeping her safe so he decides the best way to do that is to have her stay with his friend Dwight as no one would ever think of looking for her there.

Dwight is a rancher who has previous experience both in the military and in law enforcement. He agrees to help out a friend, but he certainly never expected to develop feelings for her and now his need to protect her has become personal rather than professional.

After all that Emmy has been through her strength and resilience shines through and Dwight shows her she can trust him with her heart and her life. Intrigue, romance and the magic of the holiday season combine into a heartwarming story you won’t be able to put down.

Emmy Garrett has sworn to testify about a crime she witnessed, and she is quite certain she'll never live long enough to go to court. When she is hidden on a Montana ranch, she finally starts feeling safe.
This was a good blend of romance and suspense! Both Emmy and Dwight are good characters, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. I liked that they didn't rush into anything, and that they shared their feelings. And of course, I loved the dog.
Thanks to Donna Grant for the excellent story, and to the publisher and netgalley for letting me read it.

I don't like to be saturated by too many holiday novels. They come in fast and furious at this time. This author got this book to call to me. Emma isn't having a good holiday due to the fact she witnessed a crime. She does get protection in the form of a yummy cowboy. Dwight thinks he just is helping a friend out. Turn the pages to be a witness to heat and danger.

Great heartwarming Christmas romantic suspense with spice. Insta-love, for me it was the right amount of spice. I enjoyed the story. Deciding to give her testimony against her mob boss client Emmy isn't safe with just anyone anymore. Enter Dwight. Military, FBI, Homeland Security Dwight is the perfect man to protect Emmy. He's also the perfect man for her in general. Two lonely people finally find each other if only Emmy can survive until the New Year.

Despite the cutesy title, this is a seriously good romantic suspense and I found it difficult to put down. The romance is somewhat of a slow burn but I loved that as it made the story more realistic. The tension and suspense were concentrated more towards the end of the book where the inevitable showdown happens between Emmy and the people out to kill her. Emmy made a great heroine. She was scared throughout but incredibly brave and strong at the same time.
Dwight's dog was very cute and intelligent. I loved that he acted as a therapy dog for Emmy.
This was a fast-paced story with a charming romance and a suspense-filled conclusion.
A greatly entertaining read.

This is my first book by Donna Martin and I have to say I loved it! The author takes you on a thrilling roller coaster of a story mixed with danger, murder, U.S. Marshals, WITSEC, cowboys, lust, and romance. I loved the characters—they were realistic, and the attraction between Emmy & Dwight was smokin’ hot!! This was a story that I read all night long I just couldn’t put it down. It’s the perfect forced proximity romance—who wouldn’t want a hot cowboy protecting you night and day! ❤️‍🔥

Emma is under protection as she is the main witness in a case. Someone keeps leaking where she is at so her handler decides to go outside the box and takes her to his friend Dwight so she can be protected.
THis book had a lot of suspense that kept me interested, however I felt the romance part was pushed. I expected them to fall in love but not at the pace it happened. I also loved how the story came together.

There is a leak in the witness protection program and Emmy is in danger. No safe house is safe for her. She ends up in Montana with a hunky cowboy. Dwight has the skills to keep her safe. This thriller is full of suspense that kept me turning the page long into the night. I like the mix of suspense with the budding romance. The book is excellent and that extra bonus story was just the icing on top. I totally enjoyed reading this one.

An engrossing and entertaining romantic suspense that kept me turning pages.
The romance is sweet, realistic and slow burning, the suspense part is on the backside but it was well developed.
I rooted for the characters, enjoyed the setting and had fun.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

2.5 stars rounded up

This was an entertaining read overall. Although I didn't hate it, it wasn't necessarily the story for me. The romance between Emmy and Dwight read way too insta-love for me. This is usually something I can get over as long as I can get a glimpse of an established connection between the characters. However, in Dwight and Emmy's case, everything about them getting together felt rushed, to the point that I really couldn't see their romance as viable. They did have great chemistry, which I enjoyed, but I needed more.

I did enjoy the element of suspense and some of the more candid moments shared between Dwight and Emmy that the author brought to the page. As well as some of the lighter moments and Christmasy elements added to the story. Although marketed as a Holiday Romance, I felt that this was more of a Romantic Suspense than anything else because the holiday vibe felt more like an afterthought that a main idea.

All in all, an quick and entertaining read with a side of romance.

I loved this book and became completely engrossed as soon as I started reading unable put the book down and didn't want it to end when I got to the last word. I also loved the instant attraction and off-the-charts chemistry between Emmy Garrett who is on the run after witnessing a crime and Dwight Reynolds, ex FBI and Homeland Security who has promised to keep her safe. Ms. Grant blew me away with the nail-biting suspense and steamy romance. If you enjoy swoon-worthy western suspenseful romance, don't miss "Home for a Cowboy Christmas." I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Emmy is on the run after witnessing a mob hit but when she keeps getting found the US Marshal in charge of protecting her knows there is a leak somewhere so he goes off grid and enlists the help of an old friend in Montana.

Dwight might look like your everyday cowboy but he's anything but, he has an extensive career with the Military, FBI, and Homeland Security, so his ranch is the perfect place for Emmy to hide and he's the perfect person to keep her safe.

HOME FOR A COWBOY CHRISTMAS will pull you in right away and hours will have passed before you realize it. This was a good story, well written with lots of suspense and even more heat. I personally would categorize this story as a romantic suspense that happens during the holidays rather than a Christmas Romance because the holidays are a backdrop to what is really happening in this fast paced romance.

If you enjoy Cowboy Romances, Former Military Romances, or Romantic Suspense's I would recommend this book to you.

Happy Reading!!!

Fair warning: contemporary romance is not my favorite.

Christmas is hands down my favorite season so anything relating to it gives me the warm and fuzzies. This book didn’t really give me what I usually look for because of the suspense aspect to it.

While I normally love those types of read, I just can’t have it mix with Christmas. Cowboys are also not a “thing” for me so it was a little tough for me to enjoy the setting along with the interactions of the 2 main characters.

For someone on the run, Emmy warmed up to Dwight fast and it didn’t work for me. I couldn’t get passed his name because I watch “The Office” too much too. I know I know, I have issues!

HOWEVER! The premise of the book is what kept me interested and once I got passed my little problems did I become more invested. So while it’s a 3.5 for me, it could definitely be someone else’s 5 star easily.

Home for a Cowboy Christmas by Donna Grant is a romantic suspense stand-alone story that packs a punch of both. Emmy Garrett is on the run for her life after witnessing a murder and the witness protection program has a leak. The US Marshall takes her to Montana as a last resort to get her off the radar and keep her alive so she can testify at the trial. He calls in a favor with his friend Dwight Reynolds so that she can hide out at his ranch and hopefully out of harm’s reach.

The author knows how to build her characters slowly, along with their attraction for one another along with a touch of suspense. I also liked that she showed the reality of PTSD and how fear can paralyze you. Sam the therapy dog helped Emmy find her peace again as he helped Dwight with his. When trouble comes to Montana Dwight takes all the precautions to keep Emmy safe and the showdown was a good one. The whole story flowed well, the romance was sizzling and the ending concluded nicely.

A bonus to the book was a short novella, Wish Upon a Cowboy, a nice easy read that takes place also in the holiday season. Donna Grant never disappoints and Home for a Cowboy Christmas is a definite winner.

Home for a Cowboy Christmas, by Donna Grant, is a well written thriller that follows Emmy Garrett, witness for the Denver DA, as she runs for safety after coming very close to being executed by underworld leader Joe Roma’s hitman after she turns state’s evidence after witnessing Roma ordering an execution carried out before her eyes.

U.S. Marshall Damian Silva arrived in the nick of time to stop the would be assassin in his tracks and scoop Emmy away to a place where she would be as safe as possible. With Silva the only one privy to her whereabouts, he did not worry about the leak within the Marshall’s office, at least not for the moment.

Taking a very circuitous route from Denver to somewhere in Montana, Silva leaves Emmy with his former special ops fellow, Dwight Reynolds. Dwight, after two tours of duty to the Middle East, time with the FBI and Homeland Security, and now running his family ranch, owes Silva his life and is happy to repay the marshall. Having the star witness at the ranch would not be anything special if it weren’t for her amazing eyes. It doesn’t take long for Dwight to be all in on many levels.

This is a well scripted thriller that brings forth so many themes. Wonderful characters, amazing settings, and twists and turns to excite and enthrall the reader! I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!
