I am such a fan of homemade cookies! I've had my mom's chocolate chip cookie recipe memorized since I was a young teen and I've thrown themed cookie exchange parties with friends annually. Even still, I learned some new things from the sections on ingredients, baking tools, and baking tips. Each recipe is explained well and has a beautiful photo to accompany it. There are many classics, but also so many creative recipes I'm eager to try! Each recipe page also has a "pro baking tip" sidebar that help to elevate the quality of the finished product. Love it and highly recommend!

Do I need another cookies recipe cookbook? Maybe not. Did I enjoy reading Live Well Bake Cookies, I most certainly did. I would recommend this for any baker beginner and beyond.
This just might be my favorite cookie cookbook. I bake quite a bit so my husband can be hard to impress. I tried out the apple snickerdoodle recipe from this cookbook, and my husband put it in his top 5 cookies of all time. Definitely a keeper!
I am always looking for new recipes and who doesn’t love a cookie?? Thank you for my advanced read copy and yum!
Love this cookbook! Very accessible to bakers at any level. The pictures are gorgeous, and the recipes aren’t too complicated. I can see myself making most of the cookies in this book, especially the holiday ones. I made the red velvet cookies and they were to die for!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Delicious recipes, easy and manageable for the beginner bakers among us :) different kinds of cookies for the cookie lovers
Five Stars! If you love to bake, this is a don’t miss cookbook! There’s a great mix of recipes -- everything from the classics like Snickerdoodles and Peanut Butter Cookies to fun flavors and twists like Apple Cinnamon Snickerdoodles and Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars. The pictures are amazing, and there wasn’t a single disappointment in the recipes I’ve tried so far. The recipes are clear and simple -- no matter what your skill level, you will be able to make these cookies. Also, the author has thoughtfully given metric weights for ingredients, and there’s no ingredients that will pose a problem to obtain. Live Well, Bake Cookies has definitely earned a place in my baking books collection.
I’m so grateful to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point for the opportunity to read and review Live Well, Bake Cookies.
Beautiful cookbook with great recipes that are simple to follow.
I love how simple but beautiful the pictures are and how its all about the cookies in this book.
This book has a lot of great and different cookie recipes for all occation.
Fantastic book.
I've had the chance to bake 2 of the recipes and both went down a storm.
Highly recommend to anyone who wants to step up their cookie game.
I recently got an oven at home and thought that this would be an interesting book to peruse in the two months that I had access to it. I did not get a chance to implement the few recipes I could see but the book Is well presented. The introductions to the chapters are a little hard to read because of the crisis cross lines in the background but otherwise, it looks like an easy book to follow.
Many of the recipes I saw use egg and for those of us who would prefer a substitute, I have to guess we can directly put in the replacement.
I baked the cookies in the book
I am a dummy in baker
The culprit is obviously the oven
Well my kid were delighted with the results that is a self explaining review
Great simple to follow with no strange bat wings ingredients
A great cook book for cookies
This was such an amazing cookie cook book. There were many amazing recipes in here for super tasty cookies. The instructions were really easy to follow and the accompanying pictures were very enticing. It was also really useful all the ideas for alternatives to certain recipes.
It's a breath of freshly baked cookies air!
I love a good, nice, classic cookbook. It brings me joy and a sense of calm to wander through this recipes.
It was also very well organized, the titles were witty and the fact you could find recipes according to the ingredients you prefered definitely helped with the feeling of calm. I'm certain I could pick it up and find any recipe I wanted without having to look through the entire book.
Which again... is very helpful in a cookbook.
And the Lemon Blueberry Oatmeal Cookies my mouth watered reading the recipe, I cannot wait to finally make them.
The recipes were incredibly detailed and very step by step, As someone who bakes for comfort and not professionaly I feel like the instructions would make baking any of this cookies a really nice moment.
Overall I found the book magnificent!
Very well done and a much larger variety then you might expect for only having 75 recipes. I feel like there is definitely something for everyone in this little gem.
The recipes are clear and easy to follow.
I really enjoyed the tip section at the beginning of the book it has some really handy ideas.
If you enjoy baking or devouring cookies, this book shoulddefinitelybe added to your collectionofcookbooks! There are tons of recipes I will definitely be using this book on a regular basis.
There is such a vast array of different cookies in this books, some combinations I wouldn't have thought of before. Every recipe I have read through seems very easy to follow, with easy to find ingredients. I loved that the gram equivalent was included in the ingredient list, helping to make sure that you don't mess up the conversion! The yield on a lot of these recipes was very high which is great if you need to make a huge batch or if you like you freeze cookie dough so you are always only a few minutes away from having freshly baked cookies in the house!
I only got round to trying out one of the recipes which worked really well. Looking forward to purchasing the book to try out more of the recipes I have my eye on! The only downside for me was the whole peanut butter section as I'm not a fan but I would be interested in trying out these recipes with my favourite nut butter, cashew butter!
Danielle Rye’s Live Well Bake Cookies is a great cookbook filled with familiar and classic cookie recipes. I like the bright full-page pictures. The clearly written recipes are approachable and delicious. However, I wish some of the recipes were more innovative and unique as I have seen these cookies many times before. This basic book is perfect for new bakers or those looking for a tried-and-true staple but more advanced bakers may be disappointed.
The book begins with a succinct and helpful guide on the basic pantry items and equipment needed for your cookies. There are also some baking tips, a little troubleshooting guide, and even advice on packaging cookies for shipping! However, my favourite section is definitely the little guide on storage, make-ahead tips, and freezing instructions for the different types of cookies. This section will definitely save you time and effort and preserve your precious cookies!
The rest of the book is divided into chapters on the classics, oatmeal cookies, peanut butter cookies, chocolate cookies, fun flavor combinations, celebration cookies, and Christmas cookies. We learn how to make simple favourites like chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodles, and shortbread. Oatmeal fans can enjoy classic oatmeal cookies but can also jazz things up with oatmeal cream pies and carrot cake oatmeal cookies. Peanut butter lovers can indulge in flourless peanut butter cookies and peanut butter cup cookie bars. And, of course, we can eat our way through Christmas with hot cocoa cookies, cinnamon roll sugar cookies, and peppermint snowball cookies!
The recipes are clear and easy-to-follow. Most of the cookies are quite simple but there are a few more complicated recipes. However, all the recipes are definitely approachable to all levels of bakers. I like that all the recipes require common pantry staples and easily accessible items.
I also really appreciate the inclusion of a few small-batch recipes. However, I wish some of the recipes were for much smaller quantities because they are quite large. I like that each recipe has a pro baking tip section with suggestions for mix-ins to liven up your cookies or make your baking process smoother.
The book’s design is clean and modern. However, many of the transition pages are unreadable because of the jarring and busy background. I love the simple but bright and full-coloured photos! I definitely appreciate that every recipe has its own photo because I’m so tired of cookbooks with barely any relevant pictures.
Live Well Bake Cookies is a really great basic cookie cookbook. If you’re new to the world of cookies, these are all good staples to add to your collection. While I wish some of the recipes were more exciting and unique, you really can’t go wrong with this book!
🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 out of 5 cookies!
Brb. Making all the cookies in this book!
This is such an extensive collection of cookie recipes, there's definitely something for everyone!
Recipes were clear and easy to follow, and included multiple measurements which is great to see as a lot of recipe books don't convert to grams for us Brits!
There were some really handy tips at that the start, including info on packing and shipping cookies. This part is going to be particularly useful to anyone living apart from their friends or family, or have maybe been separated during the pandemic.
If you love cookies, this book is well worth having in your kitchen!
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I love reading and looking through cookbooks. They bring back memories of being in the kitchen with my mother and grandmother while they were baking. The smell of vanilla, cinnamon, butter, and sugar fill the air. I got some of those memories while I was reading the recipes in this book. There are useful baking tips, the best equipment to use and a lot of recipes that I want to try. I thinking of starting with the classics. I love a good peanut butter cookie. The cookies are broken up into different chapters. Definitely a book I will be going back to, to find something new to try.
