This was a cute read about a young sister trying to get her little brother to smile. It’s simple but funny and sweet. This would be a great book for soon to be older siblings.

This is a cute book about a new big sister learning how to interact with her baby brother. She cannot understand why he won't smile for her and it's adorable when he finally does. It would be a good gift for new big siblings who may be excited but confused about the new little one in their home.

I'm always looking for fun big sibling books when a family has a new baby. I love the illustrations in this book. The characters' faces are very expressive. I also appreciate the added diversity, even though it's not mentioned in the storyline. This would be a cute gift for a family that has the right sense of humor. Although I have been peed on by a baby, I'm not sure I'd want to encourage siblings with that being the way to get baby to laugh.

As a new girl mom, I had to smile myself as I paged through this new book. Many parents and siblings can probably relate to a new baby who doesn't immediately warm up to all family members and a young sibling who doesn't necessarily understand new babies' needs and schedules.

Although it's not part of the story, I also enjoyed that the illustrations depicted a multi-racial household; it's a great example of a book that embraces diversity.

Apparently, the author tried to capture the early dynamic between her niece and nephew, but rest assured, but the end, Miles is smiling for his big sister, who also gets hit with the infamous yellow spray during a diaper change.

A great option for families expecting or welcoming a new sibling.

This book is cute for any new sibling who wants to make their new younger addition happy but it just doesn't happen. I enjoyed reading it and chuckled.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.

Daisy wants her brother to smile for her like he does for his parents. Although the illustrations are adorable, I really didn't like the story - it didn't flow at all.

Daisy has a new baby brother, Miles. He will smile for their Mom and Dad, but not for Daisy. She just wants to make him smile, so she does everything she can to get him to smile. Will she be able to do it?

This was an adorable book about family love and a big sister who cares about her little brother. The illustrations were great, and I liked watching Daisy trying all the different things she could think of just to get her brother to smile. The ending was super cute.

I didn't really get the point of this one. I mean, the plot is pretty simple. The baby smiles at his parents but not his sister. Until he pees on her. So what are we meant to take from that?

Becoming a BIG sister or brother is so exciting. You get a new best friend that loves you unconditionally. The newest member of the family giggles with mama and gets tickles from dad. But for some reason, Miles won't even smile at Daisy. Daisy, the newest big sister on the block isn't sure how she can get her little brother to smile or even laugh. Playing with him doesn't work as it does for her parents. What does Daisy need to do to get Miles to smile? Every new sibling has that moment of uncertainty and wondering if they will be a good big sister/brother. This story captures what every child feels when they are the BIG in the family. #ClavisPublishing #NetGalley

Daisy is a big sister to her baby brother Miles. Daisy sees how everyone takes care of her little brother and how she smiles. She tries to make him smile but what she is doing is not bring the smiles that Miles gives to others. Daisy's story is about caring and loving her little brother and the smiles it brings.

A special thank you to Clavis Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

This is a sweet book about an excited sister who can't wait to play with her new brother. The enthusiasm should be commended, but the actual things Daisy does to get Miles's attention would be irritating as a parent. Lovely illustrations.

*Note to publisher - the version of the book that is uploaded to the Netgalley shelf app is very heard to read. The spreads are stretched and even in horizontal mode on my phone, I had to zoom in to read the words.

This is a cute book about a big sister trying to make her little brother smile, and Lord knows I can relate to her struggles in trying to make a baby smile. If you like potty humour, you'll probably like this book; unfortunately, it's not really my cup of tea (but I'm sure kiddos would crack up at the fart joke).

Daisy is so excited about being a big sister. She has such big plans for all the ways she and her baby brother Miles will play together. The only problem is, every time she gets close to him, he starts wailing. That is, until Mom and Dad help Daisy figure out what it is that Miles really likes!
As a mom of two, I remember the days of my older son trying to play with the younger one, who truly couldn’t do much but look back . . . and cry! He took it so personally, as so many kids do. But once he learned how to play with the baby . . . well, the two have been best friends ever since, just as Miles and Daisy will be. But that memory of the early days is exactly what I love about Miles Won’t Smile by Jackie Azua Kramer. This story rings so true. Big siblings will recognize themselves in Daisy’s story and will appreciate her attempts (and what makes Miles finally smile! Beware: there’s some light potty humor here.) With illustrations by Martina Schachenhuber, this is the perfect read for any new sibling!
A big thanks to Clavis Publishing for the early read.

Gahhh! Totally cute and I think we can all relate to this big sis and her efforts to win over Miles. We've all been there! Perfect for any time or for new big siblings.

This book is a simple story about a little girl who wants nothing more than to make her baby brother smile, and she does everything in her power to try and make that happen!
Cute little illustrations too!
The little event that happens at the end is sadly very relatable 5o most mummy's with boys too so I literally laughed out loud!

This book is centered upon Daisy doing anything she can to make her baby brother Miles smile after noticing that she's the only one he doesn't smile for. I could definitely relate to the sibling relationship in this story as my own older sister used to poke my face when we were younger, so the dynamic between Daisy and Miles made me smile. This was a quick read and definitely ideal for a quick bedtime story, however, the ending did feel very rushed. I wish it touched a bit more on the development of the sibling relationship and the family dynamic. Although, it ended in an upbeat and lighthearted manner which fits the genre.

This book about sibling relationships seems good at first look, and the 4-year old I read it with liked the illustrations and the ending (scatalogical humor always wins), but it did raise some questions for me once I thought about it a bit. I was not overly fond of the (almost obligatory) mixed race family. Also, why is big sis so clueless, why haven't her parents prepared her for the arrival of an infant sibling? Why is she left on her own to imitate her parents, rather than being gently helped by her parents to interact with her sibling?

Daisy can’t make Miles smile until she changes his diaper, and he pees on her. When she jumps back, he smiles and laughs.

A cute book about a big sister trying everything she can think of to make her little brother smile. Even the activities mom and dad do that make Miles smile don’t work. Finally, he smiles for her when she jumps back from his peeing on her shirt. The story is just right for toddlers. The story and illustrations will make them laugh.
