'Scrumptious' is an utterly decadent cookbook full of delicious recipes and beautiful pictures that are bound to have you drooling.

One of the big plusses of the recipes in 'Scrumptious' is that Denney knows how to feed a big crowd and many of the recipes are either made to feed an army or can easily be scaled up. Considering I usually just cook for myself, I'm in for some amazing leftovers in the future! There is also a picture for every recipe which is amazing because I need to be able to visualize it to cook it! Denney also sticks to easy ingredients which is great in between the more experimental recipes I've been trying to make. I want something delicious that I can make with what's easily available! The only downside I would say is that the recipes are very carb and cheese heavy. While I absolutely adore these things, I'll have to mix in a solid vegetable dish or salad sometimes to balance everything out.

I'll definitely be trying out the Creamy Chicken Soup', the 'Easy Bolognese' and the 'Cookies and Creams Brownies' because ooh myyy goooddd!

Who does not want a cookbook that is called "scrumptious", even the picture looks delicious. The recipes in this cookbook all sound super yummy. I haven't tried any yet but they are certainly going to be making their way to my menu soon.

This cookbook is one that I hope to use a lot. It has one-pan dinners, low-carb favorites. and a ton of recipes that have cheese or chicken in their name. I live in WI, the state for cheese, so you got to know that we love to have cheese on everything.

A lot of the recipes seem like they could be quite heavy even though they do include some vegetables in them. The recipes include prep time, cook time, and servings but no calorie or nutritional information, which I always find helpful. The author includes additional information about some of the ingredients in the recipe or some substitutions, which she calls "scrumptious tip".

There are photos and the dishes in them look delicious. I did find it confusing that the photos came after the recipes instead of at the beginning with the title of the recipe.

Delicious recipes and eye-catching photos lead the reader through page after page of inviting meals. I found myself taking notes, and pausing as I read the cookbook. I felt that the format and photographs were very clear and easy to follow, and the meals were a nice mix of comfort food and new takes on familiar dishes.

My husband and young children are often difficult to cook for as everyone has their favorite things to eat, and plenty they'd rather avoid. Many of the meals are casseroles or one-pan dishes, so I feel like it wouldn't be too much work to try a new dish, and maybe let them experiment with some new flavors.

I can't wait to dive in and try these recipes! Highly recommended!

This book was received as an ARC from Shadow Mountain Publishing - Shadow Mountain in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I have been wanting to review this cookbook for the longest time and it definitely did not disappoint. I was shocked to see how Christy Denney approached this cookbook and not wasting so many pages on what the reader will need rather than incorporate it all in the recipe so that it is all in one place and the reader does not have to jump back and forth. I can definitely see this book as a potential candidate for our cooking demo and all of the recipes look simple and delicious. I can't wait to try the garlic knots, mashed potato casserole, the egg roll bowl and definitely the stuffed shells. I know our community will love this book and it will definitely be a hit in our cookbook collection.

We will consider adding this title to our TX Non-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Uncomplicated and fun, Scrumptious fromThe Girl Who At Everything has the kind of recipes you'd search for online, but now they are easy to find in a beautiful cookbook filled with ways to customize and enhance your food. These are crowd-pleasing, easy to serve and easy to share dishes - families who entertain need this cookbook. It will be an asset to any cookbook library because it can be used again and again. The recipes are often updates on classics or mash-ups of fan favorites. Seriously, I am in awe of Cuban Sandwich Dip! Where has this been all my life? Buy this for the holidays - it is going to be a fan favorite!

Christy Denney, a former recipe writer for Betty Crocker and General Mills, offers an array of delicious recipes for busy family dinners and gatherings with friends. My favorite section, One-Pan Dinners, features crowd-pleasers including Spinach Lasagna, Enchilada Skillet, and Cajun Sausage and Rice. Do-ahead dishes fill the cookbook's pages, enabling the cook to enjoy the game day party or birthday bash they are hosting. Most recipes require basic ingredients that most home cooks have on hand. Bon appetit!

Oh wow! This recipe book is so wonderful. I really appreciate the beautiful pictures of the recipes. There are so many I want to try and my family is excited too! I think the most helpful is the first section One-Pan Dinners.

Beautiful little cookbook with photos of every dish. The recipes in here are perfect for working Mom and Dads. You can throw a lot of these dishes together quickly and still have time to relax with your family. I'm going to try one of the recipes out this weekend. This is one of those cookbooks that I think you'll pull off your shelf again and again.

If you want quick and easy meals and you like to entertain, this is the the cookbook for you! Gorgeous photos, simple but flavorful recipes that can be whipped up quickly and have plenty for leftovers. Broken out into chapters like: One Pan Favorites, Feeding a Crowd, Game-day Eats, Low-carb Favorites, Tried & True, and Something Sweet. My favorites were the one pan meals and will definitely be wearing out that chapter.

Thank you to Shadow Mountain Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this cookbook. My review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.

Feel like eating something comforting but quick and easy to make? Trying to feed a crowd without breaking your wallet or missing the kick-off? Look no further than Scrumptious from the Girl Who Ate Everything, a cookbook for those who like to eat more than to cook.

From one-pan dinners to low-carb favorites to something sweet, many yummy meals are 30 minutes or less from start to table. Some of the recipes are familiar comfort food made easier: Creamy Chicken Soup, Cheeseburger Sliders and Chicken Fried Rice. Others are new: Sheet Pan Pancakes, Egg Salad BLT (using a chuffle) and Cuban Sandwich Dip.

All the recipes include a color photo, which is helpful. The low-carb chapter includes net carbs per serving. Unfortunately, no other nutritional information including allergens is included. Still, the 101 recipes in Scrumptious from the Girl Who Ate Everything do look tasty. 4 stars!

Thanks to Shadow Mountain Publishing and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

From the food blogger, The Girl Who Ate Evening. A cookbook filled with illustrations and step by step instructions. One Pan Dinners, Desserts and Feeding a Crowd, etc.
I like that, the recipes have ingredients you can find on your pantry shelf. There are so many I want to try.

Oh my GOD all of these recipes sound delicious. Most of them also sound bad for me, but I don't care, they all look and sound delicious. Most cookbooks have only a few recipes that I think I'll ever actually use, but this one? If I had a physical copy in front of me I'd be putting a sticky note tab on every single page. Mmmm, delicious, not-entirely-nutritious foods.

This is a beautiful new cookbook from Christy Denney of The Girl Who Ate Everything website. Each two-page spread has a full-page colorful picture on one side and the recipe on the facing page. There are many familiar foods with a twist – like making it low carb or quick and easy. The categories are: One-Pan Dinners, Feeding a Crowd, Game-Day Eats, Low-Carb Favorites, Quick and Easy, Tried and True, and Something Sweet. Some of the recipes have instructions for both the slow cooker and instant pot.

I highly recommend this cookbook. I started marking the recipes I wanted to try, but quickly realized I was marking almost every page. I think the Feeding a Crowd section is unique and very helpful, especially as family gathers for the holidays. Quick and Easy recipes always come in handy, and you can’t go wrong with the Tried and True section full of classics and comfort foods. Thanks to Shadow Mountain Publishing for an ARC to use for my review.

This is the first cookbook that I have ever reviewed on Goodreads and it's a great one!

Many of you don't know this but I love to cook. I have been following Christy Denney's blog for a long while now. She's a mother of five and wife to a former Miami Dolphins football player so needless to say she has a lot of mouths to feed. What I like best about her recipes are that they are user friendly. No whacky ingredients that I'll never use again or can't find at all. No slaving over the stove for hours on end. The recipes are for *every* family and they aren't going to break your bank account. Every recipe here contains a photo - YAY! I hate making a recipe without knowing what the end product is supposed to look like. Most of the recipes also include a *scrumptious* tip at the end. Some of these tips I was already aware of but for the novice cook they can be quite helpful. I also want to high-five her for using rotisserie chicken in many of her recipes. Your store bought rotisserie chicken is a lifesaver especially on weeknights after a long day of work.

The book is broken down in sections but is a little different than your standard cookbook format. I'll present them to you here with a mention of the recipes that I am most excited to try.

One Pan Dinners

Cajun Sausage and Rice Skillet - Bring on the heat!
Creamy Spinach and Artichoke Pasta - My favorite dip in pasta form. Yes, please!

Feeding a Crowd

Mini Chicken Chimichangas - Baked not fried so they must be healthy! Right? Don't answer that.
Twice Baked Potato Casserole - I'm not drooling you are!

Game Day Eats

Creamy Queso- I don't care, drown me in queso, I have no shame!
Jalapeno Popper Bread - Carbs + Heat + Cheese = LOVE!
Cuban Sandwich Dip - Don't mind me while I lick the bowl!

Low Carb Favorites

Carne Asada - Simple yet delicious!
Tuscan Soup - Creamy and dreamy!
Million Dollar Chicken - It looks like a million calories but it's low carb so who cares!

Quick and Easy

Beef and Broccoli - When your craving take out but don't won't to go out or put on pants!

Tried and True

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup - I had no idea that egg noodles were so easy to make!
Chicken Parmesan Meatballs - Because why not!
Easy Bolognese - She had me at easy! Most Bolognese take hours so I'm curious about this one.

Something Sweet

Raspberry Cream Cheese Puffs - I loved Flaky Puffs as a kid and these remind me of my childhood favorite!
Cookies and Cream Brownies - I'm making these for my Oreo loving son. Not for me. Nope! (lies, all lies)

So there you have it. A wonderful cookbook for the everyday cook. A gourmet chef may not be impressed but I certainly was. Time to get cooking! 5 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for my complimentary copy!

I love cookbooks, especially when they're loaded with color pictures of delicious looking food. This cookbook meets and exceeds that expectation. There are so many recipes in here that I can't wait to try out! I had several on my menu plan last week, but then I gave myself a concussion, because I'm awesome like that, so I was only able to make the Alfredo Gnocchi and Broccoli Bake (I added chicken and mushrooms to make it a complete meal) which was a huge hit, and the Cheeseburger Sliders, which actually turned out to be full-size because apparently I can't read. But they were really yummy as well.

I tend to shy away from cookbooks that don't include pictures, because if I can't see what a recipe should look like (if you're not me, because mine never looks that good) then it just doesn't sound as appetizing for some reason. I guess I'm just a very visual person. At any rate, I really appreciate the full-color pictures. The recipes all seem to be relatively simple to make as well, which is another huge plus for me. Definitely a book that will be used over and over again.

Beautiful pictures, delicious recipes…

If a cookbook makes me hungry I know it’s going to be good. From the tantalizing photos that had my taste buds dancing, to the low-count ingredients, there was lots to love about the recipes included here. From one-pan sheet meals to yummy cinnamon rolls, there was a huge variety of foods to choose from…

The author is a blogger who added a personal touch to the recipes she included. Whether a testimonial from her large family or a comment about the meal, there was a small intro to every recipe. The recipes were simple (for the most part) and used ingredients that most kitchens would already have. Heavy on elements that bring flavour to the dishes (cheese is a huge one!) the meals are sure to bring smiles to those who eat them…

If you are on a diet, be wary, but adapting the recipes to cut down on calories or carbs could be done as well. Overall, I would definitely add this to a new cook’s recipe repertoire. Or for anyone afraid to step into the kitchen as this is simple, delicious (if carb and calorie fearless) food.
