I had a hard time finishing this book because while I love a good hallmark Christmas movie, I couldn’t get into the author’s writing style. I really wanted to like this!
This was a perfectly lovely and charming Christmas story. Hit the vibes just right and I enjoyed it. I would possibly reread it next Christmas season.
This book has been a great reading experience. Thanks to the author and the publisher for bringing this book to life.
I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
An enjoyable and sweet Christmas story, featuring all the seasonal requirements needed, festive cheer, cold weather, warm fires, hot chocolate. It was lovely. I enjoyed the romance this gave me. A cute light festive read.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you Breaking Night Press, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Titles and Netgalley for this great book..The author always make me feel the best from people. And the place was just wonderful.
I really enjoyed this sweet Christmas book. I really enjoyed the story line and the romance in it. I would definitely recommend this book!

I was able to receive an advanced copy of A Christmas at Gingerbread Falls, for which I am grateful at the time.
The premise of the story is that two scarred characters find love with each other, with all the baggage that comes with it. Usually I enjoy reading Christmas centered books, even books to do around the winter time. However, I found the story a little dry at times, also the formatting/editing was subpar. Perhaps the ARC digital copy I received was not great and something happened, but it made it difficult for me to read it all the way through.
Story starts out with the male lead manipulating a woman's career in order to meet her. No thank you.
*Thank you to the publisher for this eARC.
Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book. Idyllic location that set the tone of the book to perfection. Perfect seasonal book to get you in the mood for the festive season.
I'm afraid I couldn't get into this at all.
I liked the idea of a story within a story, but even though I know the cheesy-ness of the movie bit was being pushed on purpose it felt too pushed. And outside the movie bit I just didn't feel any chemistry and everything felt forced.
Based on the cover and description I expected this to be light Christmas romcom and that wasn't what I was getting at all.
A cute Christmas themed romance book set in a small town. This story is for anyone who enjoys holiday themes, small town settings, or Hallmark worthy romance.
Christmas books are my favourite type of book. This was perfect. It has all the requirements a Christmas book needs. I think I could smell the cranberries and taste the hot chocolate. I love the romance and festive feels a book like this gives me. Perfect perfect book. Thank you netgalley for this arc.
I am such a sucker for Christmas themed romcoms, both on screen and on page, so I was so excited to see this one pop up. It was a fun exploration of the genre, differing to a lot of the other books within the same genre that I've read before.
I am always a sucker for a christmas story and this one was no different. i thought that it has a unique plot that differs it from most holiday novels. This story puts you on the set of a Cheesy christmas movie itself and it is a must read for any Hallmark Loving Human.
If Hallmark Channel can show Christmas movies all year, who says I have to wait until November or December to read a Christmas-themed romance? That's what I told myself when I saw this title. I was suffering from late-winter doldrums, and thought I could use an uplifting, lighthearted romance set in a beautiful wintery locale around Christmas time.
"A Christmas at Gingerbread Falls" didn't disappoint! It's the story of a somewhat unknown actress--Carrie Murray--who has appeared in dozens of Christmas rom-coms. She's sweet and wide-eyed; the type of actress you frequently see in Hallmark movies.
Enter Braxton Timothy, the gorgeous Hollywood actor known for his blockbuster action movies. For some reason he's decided to produce a sweet Christmas movie for The Christmas Channel, and wants Carrie to play the lead female lead role against him. Gingerbread Falls in a festive small town, and Noel (Carrie) is a barista and Carson (Braxton) is a doctor who has fled from a larger practice to re-think his life. Of course, sparks fly between the two of them, and in their movie roles, they struggle through doubts and secrets, wondering if they could overcome their past experiences to build a relationship together. Working together closely, the two actors find life imitating art, and they also real an attraction for each other in real life. But like their movie characters, they have past traumas that have influenced their lives, and wonder if they can overcome them so they can also build a relationship together.
I liked the layers in this story. There is, of course, the fictional stories and backstories of Carson and Noel. At the same time, there are the real-life stories and backstories of Braxton and Carrie. Each couple has its own unique challenges to overcome, and each person -- whether fictional or real-life -- has to grow and mature in new ways to make their relationship work.
So even if it's July and your A/C is cranked high, grab a cup of hot cocoa (marshmallows, please) and a fuzzy fleece blanket and snuggle in for a festive, romantic holiday read!
Thank you to Netgalley and Breaking Night Press for the opportunity to read and review this charming book!

Centred around a film production of a Christmas movie, actors Carrie (forever typecast as the wholesome seasonal movie protagonist) and Braxton (Hollywood A-lister) unfold their stories alongside that of their onscreen counterparts. And as the stories unfurl, we discover not just romance but the troubled backgrounds of the characters and the PTSD acquired along the way. And despite the darker moments, the ending was satisfying.
It was a decent read, but not great, for me. There was a lot of promise, but I prefer my romances with more innuendo and less overt "spiciness". It felt like every second paragraph included her moaning or him being aroused by her, and I felt that took away from a decent story.
~Many thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review~
I do love me a good holiday romance! This one was like a Hallmark movie written out. A great, quick ready during a busy season. Would recommend.
This is a cute story about the love that just cannot be, between Brax and Carrie. A love that just can't be allowed. Or can it? You'll fall in love with Gingerbread Falls and with Brax and Carrie, no matter what they decide. Enjoy!
