It was an honor and a pleasure to read this feel good Christmas story. I love the premise of a Christmas movie within a Christmas movie. It is unique and entertaining. The main characters of Braxton and Carrie are exactly as I hoped them to be, flawed and damaged,, but perfect for each other. The happily ever after is realistic and hopeful.

Wow what a unique and sweet Christmas romance.

Carrie is playing the part of Noelle in a Christmas movie along side Hollywood heartthrob Braxton Timothy. He has a reputation of leading ladies moving in and out his door. So Carrie is determined to keep it professional.

Braxton picked Carrie to co-star with for a reason. She is natural and real. He has had a tough time in life and is ready to start living a life full of reality with a family. Little does he know his new co-star has a lot of baggage herself and will not be easy to convince.

Together these two embark on a journey that mixes reality with fake. The fake so close to that reality that the lines blur and get harder to tell the difference between the movie and the real deal.

This story has some deep subjects weaved into it’s beautiful web. The characters are strong, but haven’t overcome the fears from their pasts. These fears hold them back from experiencing all that life and love have to offer. Especially Carrie. She struggles the most throughout the story.

Overall this is a great read that touches on some very sensitive topics. It is filled with fear, faith, trust and love. A Hallmark worthy read yet with deeper issues. The characters are beautiful and the story flowed so perfectly. It was Christmas perfection in the end.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoy all the schmaltzy Hallmark Christmas movies, so the plot of this book really appealed to me. The first chapter was full of everything we have come to expect from the movies, written in such a way as to describe the emotions of the characters. Chapters alternate between the movie characters and scenes and the 'real-life characters and events. The love story grows quickly through the book, but the mysterious backgrounds of the real life characters are unveiled far too slowly to make sense of their behaviours, particularly in Carrie's case. Her childhood traumas seemed unrealiatic; although I don't doubt that events such as these can happen, the combination must be rare. I particularly disliked the explicit sexual scenes, which I didn't expect in a book linked to the Hallmark movies, and there was more bad language than I expected. I thought the references to 'George' seemed juvenile.
The book did not meet my expectations, and I wouldn't recommend it as a nice Christmas read.

I enjoyed this story within a story. Carrie and Braxton are filming a Christmas movie in Gingerbread Falls while falling in love off screen. The movie storyline is rated G like a Hallmark movie and the real life story is more PG13 like Lifetime. It was a good twist on the usual Christmas romcom.

*I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and I am required to disclose that in my review in compliance with federal

A Christmas at Gingerbread Falls is the perfect book for a Hallmark Christmas movie lover who is always longing for a little more steam.

Carrie and Braxton are both actors. One a seasoned Christmas movie star and the other a Hollywood action hero A-lister. The unlikely pair find themself in Gingerbread Falls, North Dakota, to shoot a ver Hallmark-esque Christmas movie, and their relationship develops both on and off-screen.

The overall plot was cute. It was the exact type of cheese that we all love in those made-for-TV Christmas movies. However, I did find myself rolling my eyes quite a bit at the dialogue. By the time I got halfway through the book, it had started to get a little cringy.

Something that didn't work for me was the dual plotline. The chapters included Carrie and Braxton as themselves and then would switch to dialogue and scenes being filmed in the movie they were working on. I get how some of the stories intertwined from "fiction" to "real life" in the story, but it started getting really confusing.

If you want a quick holiday read where you can laugh at the ridiculousness of two people falling in love in a matter of three days, this one might be a good addition to your seasonal reads.

This is an entertaining story with some heartwarming moments. Excellent description of the town all decked out for Christmas that makes you feel like you are looking at it on screen.
It has a unique and intriguing beginning that surprises you. (no spoilers here).
Carrie is an actor that is known for doing cozy, small town, Christmas channel movies. Braxton is the leading man in one of her movies and is out of character since he is known for being a big action movie star. He knows how good of an actor Carrie is, but when they meet, there is a little more chemistry too. Carrie wants to be known as a bigger star, but if "tinsel town" makes her an offer, will she really take it? Will Braxton realize he likes the slower, cozy small town living too?
The story held my attention and had me quickly turning the pages. Even the theme of the movie was something that was interesting.

Noelle runs a bakery/coffee shop in Gingerbread Falls. She's happy in her life, except for one thing, she is single. But she continues to put on a happy face and focuses on decorating her shop for the annual Christmas storefront contest, which she's won several years in a row. Putting on the final touches while up on a ladder, she falls, but luckily, the new, handsome doctor in town, Carson, catches her...and their romance begins.

CUT!!!

Wait, what?? Turns out that Noelle and Carson are the characters that Carrie and Braxton are playing in a hopefully-to-be Christmas Channel movie. Braxton is a famous Hollywood star, and he has written and is producing this film that he hopes will be picked up by that famous channel that runs holiday movies. He wrote the part of Noelle specifically for Carrie, who has done almost 20 holiday movies in the past. So, while their on-screen personas as living out a holiday movie in Gingerbread Falls, Carrie and Braxton start falling in love off-screen.

This was a cute, fun book with a bit of heat added in. It really was a story that could be on that famous channel one day, it would be fun to watch. There are some heavy subjects covered as well, a few that might require trigger warnings for PTSD and child abuse. Not done in graphic detail but enough to give the characters backstories that aren't all roses and sunshine.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Ah gods I love this time of year, all the Christmas themed books are ready to review and it just adds to my love of the season, yes I am that person who watches Christmas in July movies on Hallmark because there's no time of year that speaks to my soul quite like the festive season.

This book is a festive holiday movie wrapped up with big red bow in a heartwarming romance book. think Hallmark movies on a cold winters day and warm hot chocolate, that's how good this book is, it never takes me much to get into that festive head space.

The main character is an actress called Carrie Murray, and the hero, Hollywood action star Braxton Timothy, they both have trauma from their past that they carry with them through there lives, but when they meet to shoot a movie for the Christmas Channel, and their chemistry is off the charts.

The romance between them both keeps you turning those pages, and the interesting take that you get to see how they behave together on set and off set, the layers of their lives start to come undone and I think they learn to trust with each other where before they hadn't had that, but is it enough for them to have a future together? well that I can't tell you because I hate spoiler reviews, suffice to say, its the perfect festive read.

Thank you to the publisher for this cute Christmas read. I feel like I was literally on set in a hallmark movie. I love how there was 2 story within the book and how the on screen was mimicking real life. I feel there was too much inner thoughts during the movie parts which is not something I would ever expect since you don’t really hear the thoughts on screen.

Thank you to NetGalley and Breaking Night Press for allowing me to read an advanced digital copy of A Christmas at Gingerbread Falls for my honest opinion. This is my honest opinion

I loved the story and the characters we easy to like. There were so many aha moments while reading this. It is a true Christmas story with heartfelt moments.
Carrie Murray, is the Christmas movie girl, and Braxton Timothy, is THE Hollywood movie action star, come together to film a Christmas movie hopefully to make the Christmas Channel. We find good chemistry between the two during filming and after filming....but they are both hiding something.
The book was so easy to get into, which most Christmas story books are, but this one had a mystery to it that made it unique.
What mystery you ask? Well I don't like to spoil books for readers so you will just have to read it when it comes out. You won't be disappointed...I hope there will be another one so that we may see what happens to Carrie and Braxton

This was a movie channel worthy Christmas book. :) Carrie and Brax are filming a movie for Christmas and you can feel the tension/feelings sparking between them.
They both have a past that haunts them and may not make them the best at falling in love. It was so much fun watching them switch between the movie characters and the book characters. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was such a fun book to get me into the Christmas spirit, I will definitely have to reread it closer to the holidays.
Many thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read and review this book.

Being a lover of Christmas I was looking forward to reading this one. Not being much of a romance reader I found it cute, fairly easy to read although a bit repetitive in parts. But it wasn't a long book which made it easy to read through quickly.

It is sweet, it is Christmasy, it was a bit of fun. Not to in-depth or all incompassing just a good, romantic read.

Not my favourite genre but it was alright.

I would like to thank Netgalley, Breaking Night Press and Katie Mettner for the E ARC copy of this book.
This story is told in two timelines. We have the movie timeline and the actor’s timeline. At first, I found this confusing but once used to it I liked it.
Carrie and Braxton are the two stars of the movie. Christmas movies are Carries bread and butter and she loves acting in them. Braxton is an A list Hollywood actor and it is his first time being in a Christmas movie. We get to know them as actors and as the characters they play. Their interaction both on and off screen was really nice. I enjoyed seeing Carrie begin to trust Braxton, and the way Braxton grew up and become more of the man he wanted to be. We also get the story of the movie they are shooting. I loved the characters both movie and actors, the storylines were well written and developed. I really enjoyed the setting of Gingerbread Falls.
This was my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. Grab yourself a snuggly blanket and be immersed in Gingerbread Falls.

Nothing is better than a festive Christmas story that brings the past to the present!! For Carrie Murray this is just another job, but this year...its going to be life changing. Braxton Timothy is wanting change in his life, and he's going to get it!!! Life is better when we compliment each other and these two find out that there is so much more to them than playing a part, as the season gets closer, it's time to let faith and the holiday bring healing.#NETGALLEY#KATIEMETTNER

This is a great Christmas romance story. This is a story about a movie being made for Christmas movie channel. The two main characters are Carrie and Brax. Carrie has been in Christmas movies before but this is Brax first time being in a Christmas movie, writing a Christmas movie, and producing a Christmas movie. They both have some issues from their childhood. They try to help each other overcome their problems. They eventually realize they love one another.

This is a heartwarming book to curl up with on Christmas Eve. It would make a fantastic stocking filler gift for a book worm and I almost wish I'd not read it until there was snow on the ground! That said, because the novel is based around a film set and has a duel narrative, it reads like watching a festive Hallmark Christmas movie. It was a lovely escape and I will be looking for more books by this author/publisher. If you want to feel the spirit of Christmas at any time, A Christmas at Gingerbread Falls will take you straight to the most wonderful time of the year!

Wow!! This is the perfect Christmas book! I would love to see this as a Hallmark movie!
The story has 2 characters who are filming a Christmas movie so we get to see the movie play out as well. I loved the characters, so romantic and full of festive cheer.

Highly recommend!!

Love! This is a Hallmark movie in a book and though I don't go crazy for those movies, I am crazy for this book!

Braxton's crush on Carrie is so wholesome and sweet, I was cheering for him the entire time though I could totally understand Carrie's reticence. The main characters had histories and sad back stories and we got just enough without going into tragic detail.
Mettner did a great job of fleshing out both characters and making them relatable, understandable, and cheer worthy. At times their conversations were a little long and cheesy but it still worked for the book and kept that Christmas movie feel.
I laughed, I teared up, I got the warm and fuzzies. This book was perfect!
