A nice read. The story centers around a librarian, Molly, who found an abandoned baby and then her mother. Naturally, she calls the police and becomes romantically involved with the Chief of Police, John. We learn more about Molly, John and his daughter and her mother. The mother of the baby and her parents are involved in the story as well as the baby's father. Typical romance story with something for everyone.
A very interesting book especially Molly and her relationship to the sheriff's and it was very and she had a lot of problems but she went there just to be a librarian but she ended up helping this baby out who was left bandage in the bathroom and then she goes to the new library and then she finds the girl missed the girl who was pretty much into stress after having the baby but it's interesting how all these different characters came together and worked together in this town even the sheriff's daughter started to come around and I gel he also started to come around in the book too it was a great book it was interesting how Molly found love eventually And how she kinda put her life back together great book
I struggled reading No Offense from the moment the main character, Molly a librarian, inappropriately attacked a sheriff who was doing his job. (Which he was doing correctly and kindly). Unfortunately, Molly just took me out of any possible story enjoyment. She is self righteous and I wanted to through my kindle across the room more times than I can count at her awful attitude. This could have been the best story set up, but I struggled to finish. I have read so many of Meg Cabot's books, and the writing is her normal high quality. Unfortunately, I couldn’t appreciate any of it with this one.
Thank you Netgalley for the arc. This is my honest review.
I have really loved this Meg Cabot take on bookish small town characters, and Molly and John were a cheesy but adorable to fall for couple in this charming rom com. I had read and enjoyed No Judgements, and was thrilled to get the chance to read this one thanks to Book Club Girl + William Morrow Books, I'm looking forward to reading No Words now, this series is so fun!
This was a light and easy read if a little slow-paced. I loved how it was a part mystery and a part rom-com which are two of my favorite things. It is part of a series but I felt that I didn't need to read the first book to understand what was happening in this story.
The story takes on a small island named Little Bridge, where a romance brews between the town's new librarian, Molly, and the town's sheriff, John. The love story between these two was really predictable but it was cute anyway. The only problem I had with the book was the ending. I felt that right after they discover who did the crime it just jumped to the end of the story without explaining what happened in between. Overall, this was a good book but it just wasn't the best I've read.
Meg Cabot is an author who publishes a large volume of reliably cozy romantic books. With predictable endings and mild plot twist, they are as comforting as a well-loved blanket. Something good to snuggle up with when you want a diversion from the stress of daily life.
This series is set in a fictional town based on Key West, where the author resides. Using a fictional place keeps the story line fresh for creative embellishments. I enjoyed my short time away in the tropical paradise.
I have loved Meg Cabot forever and this book didn’t disappoint. The chemistry between Molly and John is so palpable and it jumps off the page. I love this series and can’t wait to read more.
The second a series, I didn't realize but the books aren't super connected so this title can stand alone. A easy read that takes place on a small Florida Key, Little Bridge. The series follows the town's cast of characters and this book's focus is the children's librarian and the town sheriff. The love story between the two main characters is a sweet albeit predictable one. The plot around what brings them together is not your typical small town drama. I enjoyed the different character's stories from the quirky teenager, the local bed and breakfast owners, etc. I may pick up another in the series depending on which town character it follows.
I’m guessing the title was supposed to be a warning because there was quite a bit to be offended by. If this was intended to be humorous, I wasn’t laughing. I found Molly very offensive and judgmental and made far too many assumptions. I questioned whether or not I should continue considering I didn’t like her very much. I felt no connection to her whatsoever.
Some sentences and thoughts seemed to be repeated over and over again. Almost as if the author thought the reader just wouldn’t get it if not repeated often enough. Or maybe it was just filler. I can’t be sure.
And at 29% I rolled my eyes and gave up.
3.5/5 stars
I did like this book, it was a cute premise with a little bit of mystery and tension between the Main Characters, Molly and John, but it just lacked something for me.
The relationship between Molly and John reminded me of the chorus from the Katy Perry song “I Kissed a Girl”. They were both very hot and cold with each other. There was an attraction between the two and some tension, just because of how the story flows, but it was just eh for me. While the story was decent I just left it feeling like I wanted something more from these two characters. Although I did really enjoy the last chapter and thought it did wrap the story of very nicely.
Overall a good, quick, light read.

In short: Cute romance between a librarian and a sheriff.
My thoughts: This was a cute small town romance between Molly, the new children's librarian in town, and John, the sheriff, who promises to help Molly find the parents of a baby left in the library, This romance had all the elements of a cozy mystery that I enjoy as an amateur sleuth works to solve the crime herself. Overall this book was just okay to me. I just did not like Molly at all.
Cute and light-reading.
I did not read the first book in the series but I don't feel itinfluenced my enjoyment of this one.
The main characters were both likeable. There was a little mystery, a little romance, a little teen drama, and a little humor mixed in. Told from two point of views, this book was well-paced and an overall enjoyable read.
A light hearted feel good frolic look into a small Florida community. The people are nice. The community is wholesome and a little romance to boot. It’s a fun summer read. Thanks to NetGalley for the advance read.
I may not be the best reviewer for this book. I don't care for cozy mysteries, and that's what this seemed to be, which I didn't realize going in. If you like cozies, I suppose it had all the elements... small town, upstanding cop, nosy librarian, cute cat, and some unsolved crimes going on. With, of course, the happy ending. Only one "open-door" sex scene that wasn't too graphic, but also didn't leave much to the imagination. But for me, there wasn't enough character development, and I did not like how the upstanding moral cop had to keep referring (in his head) to his sexual harassment training to know how to address a woman. I've loved Cabot's books in the past, and maybe this IS a good cozy, but it just wasn't for me.
When I was a teen I loved Meg Cabot's books so I was excited about her new Little Bridge Island series! Add in a librarian trying to save reading and I was sold with the premise.
All of the assumptions that Molly made didn't work for me, she came across as too judgemental for me to really root for her character. I also wasn't the biggest fan of John.
This was an easy read and I can't wait to read the next in the series!
Although marketed as a romance, No Offense is really part cozy mystery, part rom-com.
Loved
* The setting - although it's a fictional island in the Florida Keys, it felt real. The author really brought to life the characters that inhabited Little Bridge Island. The combination of Florida crazy and small town was just perfect.
* The cozy mystery aspect of the book. I know that many reviewers felt that Molly Montgomery needed to mind her own business but that is the whole point of a cozy mystery - the amateur sleuth.
* The banter between Molly and John was really cute.
* SUPER fast read.
Disliked
* At one point in the story someone mentions that Sherriff Hartwell takes his job seriously, but that's not the only thing - he takes himself way too seriously. He always thinks he knows best, in a not-so-cute 1950s Father Knows Best Way. He comes off not as someone who cares too much, but as paternalistic.
* The romance part of the story just fell flat. I just did not buy into their relationship. The verbal banter was cute but it did not translate to chemistry. Also, I'm over this whole romance story line where guys who have very little sexual experience and have also been celibate for YEARS are so amazing in bed the first time they have sex with our story's heroine. Sorry, not buying it.
