Oh my goodness, what a story! The title is so perfect - magnificent lives! Marjorie Post had so many layers of life. I originally asked for this book because I'm from Michigan and grew up hearing about Cereal City (Battle Creek) but didn't know much of the history. So it was a delicious surprise when I delved into the life of Marjorie. It's one of those books, that when you get into the storyline, is so unexpected and makes it so much sweeter.

As you go through the years, you see her strength, determination, graciousness and the morals she learned from her father that shaped her. From her life as a young lady in Michigan, to her marriages - she just wanted to love and be loved, her many projects, the glamourous parties, the lavish lifestyle, her good deeds in wartime and so many fundraisers and donations, it was indeed a magnificent life. I'm glad I read this one, thoroughly enjoyed such a beautifully written book.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.
