I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Roar Like a Lion is an amazing devotional (non-fiction) book for children to help them work through the stresses and strains they face as children in todays world.
The writing style is very encouraging and engaging towards children and I found the biblical aspects used with examples linked to todays living, very true of today's life experiences, living and day to day life for children.
I wish I had had a book like this as a child!
Although the book is produced as one devotional a day, more can be done at once if you wished to do so and could be worked back on too.
I love the cover if this book and found the book helpful and supportive for children.

Being a kid in this era is tough, all of them dealing with pressures and trials that none of us ever had to at their age. They need encouragement and motivation, and that’s where Roar Like a Lion comes in, roaring like a lion, at just the right time.

Although geared towards a younger audience, this book taught this 40 year old a thing or two, which I really admired, making it a great resource for “kids” of all ages! The writing is engaging, not hard to comprehend, and speaks to the heart. The themes are timeless, teaching children truths that will stick with them for life, and serving as excellent reminders for those of us who have been taught these principles.

Aesthetically, the colors throughout are eye-catching, vibrant and beautiful, and I love the illustration style itself, showcasing the masterful talent of Catherine Pearson. This is a perfect gift for kids of all ages, and I cannot recommend this resource enough!

Roar Like a Lion by Levi Lusko is a Christian devotional for kids ages 6 to 10 years old. I was excited to receive a copy of this book to read to my oldest son, who is 6. We have been reading other children’s devotionals, so I was happy to try a different author. My son loved the idea of being like a lion (like Jesus) and enjoyed several of the devotionals. I felt like there were some that were over his head, but he is at the bottom of the age https://www.instagram.com/p/CUV3zrQrx6C/?utm_medium=copy_linkrange listed. I liked how the devotionals addressed several difficult topics children may encounter at school or in life in general, encouraging them to stand out for Jesus. My son also liked the special little “Did you Know?” and “Get Ready to Roar” excerpts in each devotional.
Overall, I think this is an excellent addition to our kid’s bookshelves. We try to read something inspirational each night, and books like these make it easy to both gain my child’s attention and to teach him about Jesus. I would recommend this product to any parent looking for a devotional for their elementary-age kids.
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations of a positive review. All opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved Roar Like a Lion by Levi Lusko! Roar Like a Lion is a 90 day devotional for kids that doesn’t shy away from the difficulty of life. Each devotional continually reminds kids that they are not alone regardless of what happens to them, Each entry has a Bible verse and a truthful thought that corresponds with it. This would be a great addition to anyone’s library. I am going to be sharing the word about this book to friends and family (and get a copy for myself too). Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book! (My review is also on Goodreads.)

As a parent, I found this 90 day devotional “Roar Like a Lion” by Levi Lusko to be such a blessing. It provides practical approaches to faith in every day life. As we look at the world around us, it’s more timely than ever to give our children biblically-based tools that’ll help them to be courageous and bold. This devotional is a great resource to help your children grow their faith – and their roar.

We really enjoyed the “did you know” and “get ready to roar” portions of each devotional (education trivia and practical application in every day life). We also enjoyed the fun bonus game – where you try to find the hidden anchors throughout the colorful illustrations. My daughters really loved hunting for the anchors as they read through each of the devotions.

We absolutely have been loving this devotional in our house. We have been using this devotional as part of our morning time routine during our homeschool day. It is great for all age groups. I am using it right now for kiddos ages 12, 9, 7, and 6. We have been using the daily Bible Verse as our copy work. My kids favorite part is the "Did You Know?" section in each devotional. Its a fun fact or a historical tidbit which is great for us as homeschoolers to tie in a lot of subjects into one book. It has also brought on a lot of good conversations and reminders as we go through our day.

If you have kiddos and would like to do this as a family it is perfect for that. But if you have a child who is a good reader and in need of a new devotional book then I definitely recommend this one. It is perfect for a 8-11 year old.

I received a copy of this book through Just Read. I was not required to post a positive review. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I have been reading this devotional aloud to my children every morning lately. It is attractive and interesting. There are four main parts to each day's reading. First, there is a Scripture verse, and then a short reading about what God does for us. At the end of the page is a short prayer. Each day also includes a side bar with either interesting facts about something in nature or history, or “Get Ready to Roar,” which gives tips for helping people. This book would probably be just what some children need, as encouragement to turn to God in their struggles; a lot of it does not apply to my children. The author frequently talks about struggles that children face at school, or with parents who are arguing or separated. Another thing I noticed is that the main focus is on what Jesus can do for us, rather than on WHO God is. We need to be looking at who God is more than at what He does for us.

I received a review copy of this book from NetGalley, and these are my honest thoughts about it.

A longer version of this review will also appear on www.ignitelit.com in February 2022.

What is something you would tell your younger self if you could? One of the (many) words of advice I would have for myself is to develop healthy, life-long habits early. And one of those habits is a daily devotional time with God.

Roar Like a Lion by Levi Lusko is a book that can start or continue a child or tween on the journey of developing the habit of spending time daily with God. Each of the 90 devotionals is written in a way that draws the reader in like the author is sitting right there with them.

I appreciated the mix of scripture verses provided in the book along with the encouragement to look other verses up, driving the reader to God’s word. Lusko challenges young readers to be brave and take a stand when they see wrong done in their worlds. He acknowledges challenges and never preaches down to the reader but instead, kneels down to their level, recognizes the issue, and encourages courage.

But that’s not all. There is also a fun and educational sidebar with facts about animals and history. I even learned a few things reading through this devotional. Whether you’re looking for something to read as a family or wanting to find something for your young reader to engage and encourage, look no further.

This book was a great read with my children. It was very informative and the images kept them captivate while they learned so many new facts. I will be buying a hard copy version of this book for sure. The book was also a good read for a wide range of ages. While my younger children looked more at the pictures while listening, my older son took in all of the information on the pages. The accompanying images also made it easy for us to flip back to certain information that my son wanted to revisit without searching through all of the text. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about these majestic animals or even just as a fun Book to read and learn something new.

I love this book! It’s the perfect devotional for the littles in your liven to help them in their walk of faith. I would have bought this devotional just based on the cover if I saw it in the store; so colorful and bright, it captures your eye. The devotional are well written, simple enough for a child to understand, but not just surface level. I think that they will allow for great conversation starters. I fully intend on preordering this devotional now so we have a copy in our home for our kitties, and will be watching for more children’s content from Levi.
