I thought that this was an enjoyable book and I loved it!
It had a good storyline and was very well written, it was romantic and sexy.
The urges were laid bare, I really enjoyed that honesty and truth won the day
It is 4 stars from me for this one, highly recommended!
Cooper Houston. Lawyer, surfer, and questioning his sexuality thanks to his best friend Bohdi.
Ivy Chambers. Smart, artsy, Bohdi’s ex girlfriend, and Cooper’s current wife.
This novel is a fast pace MMF romance. Overall, it was a great storyline and plot, the writing I thought was lacking. It was by far one of my favorite reads. It was clunky in spots and didn’t exactly accurately portray a poly relationship. The jealousy was a big turn off. But, with that being said, it was still a good book overall and I would definitely read another by this author.
Things I did not like:
The use of the phrase “bodacious tatas” - this was such a mood killer.
A lot of the dialogue seems stiff. Like, it doesn’t have a natural flow.
I kind of wished there was more story between Cooper and Ivy falling in love.
I received an ARC of this book on NetGalley in return for an honest review. This review is based on my own thoughts and feelings.
Angsty and steamy and full of hotness!! This was my first foray into MMF but I will definitely be back for more ☺️🔥
Ivy is left heartbroken when boyfriend Bodhi disappears from her life. She finds comfort in Cooper, his best friend. Fast forward a year and Bodhi returns, surprised to find Cooper and Ivy engaged! But can they all forgive each other and move on with life?
You will really fall for (most!) of the characters as this book progresses. A lot happens in a seemingly short space of time in this story and sometimes you feel it is moving a little quick but I really enjoyed it.
Some erotic books are just about that, however this one had a good story line and characters you care about. A few bits were maybe a little unbelievable (as regards how quickly certain people were forgiven before jumping into bed together!) but all in all a good story.
Fast paced, lots going on, good characters, interesting bedroom scenes with maybe a bit of an unnecessary storyline running through it (with what ‘follows’ Bodhi back from England!)
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and most importantly the author, for the chance to read this book, in exchange for an honest review.
Compelling Urges is the first book that I have read by Arielle Talix and I loved it. It was a wonderful MMF book with all the angst and love between the characters.
Looking forward to reading more by this author and would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
This is a great story about three consenting adults that are involved in a non-traditional relationship that they struggle with how to handle it.
Bodhi is great at making decisions in his business life but not so well when it comes to his personal life. He Ivy and Cooper are struggling on how to handle a relationship that expands beyond what is considered "traditional".
There will be some surprising developments, some darkness and a very memorable road trip.
This is a great story that deals with emotions, forgiveness and developing honest relationships.
Fast-paced MMF read with loads of drama and emotion. Great characters with intense chemistry and plenty of depth. Their story is fast-paced and really draws you in from beginning to end. Bodhi, Ivy and Cooper have so many ups and downs will they find a way to make it work between the three of them? I loved it!
A fun triad book. Loved the main characters and the way their relationship developed but found some of the story line too contrived and clunky. Easy to read and okay for a holiday book.
Great MMF book full of emotional and compelling characters. Trying to find their way through forgiveness and love in this new dynamic to their relationship. Great story with tons of steam 🔥🔥
I enjoyed this story and I feel that the plot had a lot of potential. I loved the relationship of the three primary characters, I loved their doubts and how they worked through their issues. The sex was hot and very interesting. I felt that some of the unnecessary outside drama was really not necessary to the story and not that well developed. The motivations of the secondary characters was really confusing. But even with these things, this story moves along and kept me interested. I plan to look for more stories from this author.
I received an advance review copy from and I am leaving this review to voluntarily share my honest thoughts and opinions about the book. #Compelling Urges #NetGalley
Ivy is devastated when Bodhi, the boyfriend she loved sneaked out of their flat to move abroad leaving a note. Heartbroken she found comfort with his best friend Cooper. When Bodhi returns a year later ready to declare his love for her he is shocked to find them engaged. But it turns out that Bodhi has had an eventful time in the UK and finds it difficult to keep the secrets under wraps. This story is definitely eventful and somewhat bizarre in places.
This book this book utterly surprise me! I absolutely love this book. I read a little bit of the description (I didn’t read too much of it, so that way I can go in reading this book blind). With that being said, I thought this book was about a boss and two coworkers. Much to my surprise, to find it’s about two males roommates and a woman. That’s confusion on my part, if I would’ve read the description fully I would’ve saw that book is between roommates lol.
Now that we’re over my confusion lol let’s get into the gossip parts. I absolutely love this book. I would read it again 10 times more. The way this author conveyed the relationship really made me wanting a polyamorous relationship myself. I loved the writing style, really liked the aspect of different POV‘s. It was a little confusing at first because the POVs aren’t labeled by name but I feel like you kind of catch on sooner rather than later about who we’re reading from. & it doesn’t affect the book at all. Also I loved how everyone in this became very supportive of the polyamorous relationship. Absolutely loved Cooper, Ivy, and Brodi.
* really liked the twist with Blair. I just knew something was fishy about her. Spoiler BTWS*
This book was awesome! It’s definitely a great steamy romance, with well hashed out characters and a lot of ups and downs. The writing wasn’t my favourite part but I didn’t turn up for the plot. The stories short enough that it’s a good read to binge when you’re looking for something quick and easy.
I chose to read this book for the plotline, hoping that the story would be well-thought out and the characters would grow together and love one another slowly and progressively. The pacing was so fast throughout the book. The character development didn't even happen at a consistent pace as I don't think they grew from who they were in the beginning. There were scene of extreme jealousy and extreme insecurity followed by scenes of extreme high emotion of love and affection. It was a headache to get through and none of it felt authentic or genuine. I was ready for the book to be over 40% into the story. There was a lot happening with the most insane characters. There was no consistency regarding characters, relationships, or even the plot. The lies just kept piling up, and the use of the word 'triad' got really really annoying. I highly doubt people in polyamorous relationships call themselves a triad as many times as was used in the book.
Overall, I feel like it was a beach read book, easily skipped over and not memorable at all. Average book with average vocabulary. This book seemed fit to be published in 2001 and not 2021.
Two stars for a potentionally great storyline, but that's about it.
<p>*Thank you to the publisher; Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and the author; Ariella Talix, for my free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.
Though this book has a great storyline and believable characters, the pacing was rushed and felt more like telling and not showing us the story. I would read the book again but I won’t recommend this book to just anyone.
Compelling Urges is an erotic romance. Ivy Chambers is a successful business owner with a great relationship with her financier boyfriend until he disappears with only a note to say he has moved to London to take a promotion. She feels abandoned and falls into the arms of her boyfriend's best friend and roommate. Ivy and Cooper develop a strong relationship and become engaged. A year after he disappeared, Bodhi unexpectedly reappears and is shocked to find that they are engaged.
I was entertained through the whole book. I love the characters and the plot. The romance was filled with so many sexy scenes and it is definitely a book to read if you are into sex and romance. I think this is a great book to get yourself into especially if new to the whole 2 men and 1 women trope. I think Talix did a really good job at letting you know that this is a relationship, this is something that some people want. Here's how to deal with it. I think that this book was definitely something that I could go back to once it comes out in September.

Another great romantic menage story of love, romance, marriage and life commitment, in an unconventional triad of a relationship.
With a happy ever after ending in this emotional romantic story of love and all it's complexities within this unusual, complicated, loving triad partnership.
,What an absolutely entrancing novel. As the reader I was thoroughly entertained and it had fulfilled its purpose which was to hit the target of what an erotic novel contains within its sensual and inviting content. It should be duly noted that this novel was written with a creative and passionate narrative by an exceptionally talented author. This novel has the ability to entice you to read it just by the title. The cover is very captivating and encourages individuals who are within the erotic novel audience to engage with this novel and read it. I believe this novel has the potential to go far and to reach a wider range of individuals especially those who have just started to engage in the genre or who are just starting their journey through bdsm, kink etc.
I would like to extend my best wishes for the success of this novel.
A cute story about 3 friends to lovers. Overall the writing was good, some of it was unnecessary information and you were able to skip through. Some of the events that happened in the book were totally unrealistic but still enjoyable to read. The dynamic between the 3 characters kept you into the story. The storyline revolves around the 3 characters (Bohdi, Ivy and Cooper) as they discover their new relationship as a triad and deal with the many real life challenges. As a whole the story is a bit cheesy but oh so steamy!!!
