This was a laugh out loud chick lit book that I really enjoyed. Occasionally I’m in the mood for a great romcom and I highly enjoyed and recommend this one!

TW: heavy alcohol use, drunk sex, mixed signals
This book was a classic romance with the will they wont they storyline but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.
I really liked Declan and found his backstory interesting, he was charming and I can imagine many people falling for him!
Sarah, our other main character also had some depth to her which added to the story but at times I found her frustrating. Perhaps that was the point though and it highlighted how frustrating others in the book found her?!
I would be really interested in reading a part two of this story, or one of the side characters as I feel there is a lot that could be explore.

I work for the publisher and was just testing that the book downloads ok onto NetGalley so this is not really a proper review. Just clearing it down to sort out my request to review ratio.

A cute romcom story & decently well written. I nonetheless didn’t like the MC/narrator much, & found the plot a bit clichéd. Worth a read if you want something light.

[What I liked:]

•The book has some legitimately funny moments! There is a nice balance between emotional drama & feel good comedy in this story.

•Declan is pretty charming, & a decent MC. Not that he was perfect, but I appreciated that his attempts to date Sarah respected her boundaries & never crossed into creepy/insistent/stalker territory. I also appreciate how he stood up for himself at the end.

•I appreciate how the romance plot line wasn’t rushed, & had time & space to develop. At first I wondered if the whole story would take place during the week of the wedding (which would have been rushed), & I’m glad it didn’t.

[What I didn’t like as much:]

•Sarah is not a very nice or likable person. She is rather self centered, usually ignores chances for healthy communication, & won’t take her own advice to get some therapy.

•The whole plot basically hinges on Sarah’s fear of intimacy & getting her heart broken. Which is pretty relatable, but it wasn’t enough conflict to sustain the plot of a full length novel. Or at least it should’ve been explored or developed in a less cliché way.

•Declan should have been more honest. I lost some respect for him when he had the chance to tell Sarah something important about his relationship status & didn’t. I get why it was hard to talk about it, & at least he redeemed himself in the end.

•There are a lot of mixed signals, confused sex, & drunk sex. If that bothers you from a consent standpoint, be forewarned.

DNF @ 20%.
Not for me. This is marketed as a hilarious comedy, I don’t think I smiled even one time reading it. I was quite bored. It’s written okay but there isn’t enough build up. The main love interests really have two pages of anything before this twist, and the twist doesn’t last long! Also, can authors pleaseee try to choose some more unique/less common names for characters. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the free preview in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so much fun!! I've been going through a major chic lit phase and this book had me hooked from the very start. The humour of the main character was everything!!

The chemistry between Sarah and Declan was so good. The part of the book where they were apart was a bit of a drag but once they were back together i just fell in love with them more.

Great read and can't wait for more books from this author

This book was too funny, I am all for a great romance novel, and a ton of humor. I am so happy I got approved for the audio, even though I enjoy a romance novel ANY DAY, I don't enjoy when it drags, Declan and Sarah were supposed to be together as soon as they left IRELAND!!!!! DAMMIT!!! lol, but other than that we all know how these amazingly funny rom-coms end, and I AM ALL FOR IT! the Irish accents were amazing in this audio, LOVED IT!

THANKS Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to listen to this book.

This one was so, so cute!! I laughed out loud so many times, it was almost embarrassing 😂

Sarah doesn’t do relationships - only one night stands. So, the last person she expects to see at her best friend’s wedding in Ireland is Declan, the man she brought home from a bar in New York City. More awkward? She’s the maid of honor and he’s the groom’s brother. Even MORE awkward?? The mother of the groom is trying to play matchmaker for her single son and sat them at the same table for the rehearsal dinner.

It is the perfect amount of awkward and spicy - I highly recommend! I listened to this one on audio and I really loved the narrator, Jessica Regan 🎧

Thank you SO much to @netgalley and @bookouture for the audiobook!

Yes, yes, yes! This book was such a fun take on the one night stand that just wouldn’t end! It was funny, heartwarming, frustrating, and absolutely swoon worthy. What else can you ask of a romance novel?!?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 shiny stars for this romantic comedy

One Night Only is a fun premise about how you never think you'll see your one night stand again, but then the world ends up being a lot smaller than you expect. Sarah and Declan end up meeting at a bar, sleeping together and then going their separate ways, just shortly before Sarah's friend's wedding. When Sarah arrives at the venue in a rural town in Ireland, she comes face to face with Declan, but now as the brother of the groom. Cue a series of meet-cutes, more heavy flirting, and secrets that come out about both of their pasts. Would their fateful meeting be enough to start a relationship or would it end there?

Walsh does her very best to write new takes on existing rom-com tropes and to keep the reader on their toes. I think she developed realistic character flaws, made their interactions interesting and fiery, and filled out the supporting cast really successfully. The narrator did a fantastic job, with excellent Irish accents and distinct voices. I would definitely recommend this to any romance and rom-com lovers, as the characters were funny, when placed into tricky situations and in dialogue, but genuine and sweet when around each other and it made me swoon.

What a lovely, light hearted read. I had the pleasure of listening to the audio book. A clear and engaging narrators
The story as the title says is about a girl who has one night stands but as the story continues looks like she will find love.

This audiobook was brilliant! I loved the story, it was realistic but not too drawn out. The characters were so relatable, I was rooting for them the whole time. The narration was also super immersive!

They had me at his irish accent. I absolutely loved this fun back and forth with a one night stand turned enemies to lovers. Sarah and Declan won my heart with their love story. So many moments where I was screaming at both of them in frustration but thankfully they eventually heard me :) I thought the supporting characters in this book were also pretty awesome. Sarah's roommate was such a sweetheart, her best friend is definitely best friend goals and her work buddy was freaking hilarious and snarky and I loved it! So many good laughs with a good amount of heartstring tugs. I highly recommend for a fun and sexy read.

A sweet slow-burn romantic comedy with a relatable main character, a charming love interest, an Irish wedding, chance encounters in NYC and an entertaining cast of side characters.
After a one-night stand, Declan and Sarah keep unexpectedly running into each other which slowly makes them wonder if maybe their story wasn’t supposed to end after just one night.

I really enjoyed One Night Only! It made me laugh and it also made me very emotional, it’s funny and heartwarming and the characters are well developed. I kind of wished the wedding had a been a bit of a bigger part of the story and the pacing threw me a bit off but it was a very enjoyable romance novel.

Did this book rewrite the romance genre? Maybe not. But did I have a great time listening to it? Most definitely!
Fun characters, irish accents (the narrator did a great job) and not one minute of boredom. Would recommend to fans of romance books and/or people looking for a fun escape from their normal life.

One Night Only by Catherine Walsh follows Sarah, a young woman who only has one night stands. No commitment, no second dates, no fuss.

As Sarah prepares to head to Island for her best friend’s Irish wedding, she has never been more excited. That is, until she meets the best man, brother of the groom - Declan Murphy, who happens to also be her last one night stand. With Sarah wanting to forget the night and move on and Declan determined to relive it, what could possibly go wrong!

This laugh out loud romance was thoroughly enjoyable. The banter between Sarah and Declan was hilarious and played on the enemies to lovers trope, although it was more a dislike on Sarah’s behalf than traditional enemies. I would also call it a “one night stand to lovers trope”. If that wasn’t a thing before, it is now!

From the plot, to the character development, to the romance, to the setting, I loved it all! It is books like this that has turned me into a big romance fan! This story left me craving more of Sarah and Declan’s story and trip to Ireland!

The audio narration by Jessica Regan was excellent and really helped to bring the story to life.

This one is out now and if you love a good rom-com, then this one's for you!

One Night Only is a delightful romp. It felt like a mix of Leap Year the movie with Sophie Kinsella. I thought the chemistry was extremely well done.

I loved this audiobook so much, I had to purchase the book! This book was so funny, charming, and heartwarming. I loved each of the characters and their story lines. The narrator was also very good, she nailed all the accents and really helped bring the story to life. This book really needs to become a movie, I would watch the heck out of it!
