This book was sent to me on Kindle by Netgalley for review. It is not the type of book I usually read, but it was, at times, intriguing. The characters are not heartwarming, but it is not a heartwarming book. Try this one.

PI Laney and her son have settled in a nice, quiet little town in New York state. But any chance of a peaceful transition to the neighborhood goes up in smoke when a block party ends with violence and the disappearance of Laney’s friend.
