Overall, this was such an enjoyable, quick read. I really liked all the characters and found myself rooting for the MCs especially!
I completely feel like I struck gold with this book. I really really loved this book!!! I absolutely loved all of the characters in this book. Both Jack and Sadie were really strong main characters, but Sadie's friends were the perfect supporting friend group. I loved the plot, and the little nuances of Sadie and Jack's relationship threaded throughout. The imagery in this book was so vivid — the entire time I felt like I was in the scenes.
Ultimately, the only thing I wanted to change about this book was how I wanted more of it. The ending left me with a lot of questions, mainly because I was so invevsted in the characters! Definitely recommend. The comparison to a crossover of the Flat Share/Beach Read did not disapoint!
I was hooked right away by the say-everything-you’re-thinking Sadie and the easily-embarrassed Jack. I loved the set up - accidentally connecting on a roommate app. And I loved the way things wound up, then unraveled.
Another delicious romance to add to the queue this year!
This sounded like a good premise but I shoulda guessed from the comps that this wouldn’t actually be a book I’d enjoy. Just not my kinda story, even as it sounded like it’d be up my alley.
I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.
LEASE ON LOVE is a super cute love story. It did take me a short bit to really invest in Sadie's character, but once I did I was all in. I loved Jack at first read. Plot was developed beautifully.
I have tried a few of Falon Ballard's books, and unfortunately, I can never make it past the first few chapters. I don't get sucked in by the story and find I have to push myself to continue.
This was a cute, quick read. I've read books from Fallon Ballard before, and enjoyed this one just like I did the others.
Though it's a little hard to believe the situation, I ended up enjoying the story.

Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you to Netgalley and Putnam for sending me a copy of this book! All opinions are my own!
This was such a cute romance to top my days off with, and I definitely want to read more from Ballard!
At first, I thought Sadie was a little too annoying, but getting to know her really opened me up to her and helped me relate to her a lot more than I had first anticipated. I related a lot to her chaos combined with her dreams and a touch of anxiety and self-doubt, especially as a woman trying to make it in the world.
The banter and the romance were very cute, and I love the way it developed in a more natural way than often happens in books. It felt like there was a lot of resistance to the very idea, which was very real and helped show the characters' complexities. Their character arcs were so nice to read, especially considering that they were separate from the romance itself. The talk of mental health and self-esteem was so well done and really showed a wonderful arc of learning about themselves and who they wanted to become.
If you're looking for a sweet romance (with a side of spice), definitely be sure to check this one out!
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for giving me a free eARC of this book to read in exchange for my review!
This book and I got off on the wrong foot and never really recovered. I don’t need every character in a book to be relatable or likable, but I found Sadie grating and didn’t care much about what happened to her or any of the other characters. This one is adored by many, but definitely wasn’t for me.
This was a really great read and I've loved everything Falon Ballard has written that I've read so far! I look forward to many more stories.
This book begins with a down-on-her-luck heroine who mixed up two apps and ended up finding a roommate instead of a date. The heroine ends up sharing a home with the hero and began a new career. She ends up becoming closer to the hero and vice versa. The hero's life changed after his parents passed away years ago, and he needed a huge push to move forward with his life. As the hero and the heroine began to fall in love with each other, they must face some uncomfortable truths before they could have their happy ending.
This is my first Falon Ballard book. It features the heroine's viewpoint and a found family that really enriched the story. I liked the heroine and her growth in this book, but it would have been nice to have the hero's viewpoint, too. I liked the friends that supported the couple, but I did find a certain action that prevailed in this book to be too much and would have liked some other details to replace it. Overall, a nice read.

Not me devouring two @falonballard books back to back 🤗 Absolutely loved this one and it felt appropriate to snap this photo in front of these stunning floral pieces by @jamiebeck.co 💐 I loved how Jack showed that he cared, from small gesture like coffee to giant ones like, you know (no spoilers). I felt great sympathy for Sadie and those inner demons she was fighting, I obviously felt sad for Jack too but I think I’m more familiar with grief than Sadie’s emotional abuse so I could understand him a little better. Loved the supporting crew, wonder if maybe this will be a series?
What a fun cast of characters that showcased such deep friendship and love for each other and saw the whole of each other - it was so enviable!
I found the primary love story premise predictable but comforting in that 90s rom-com way. & was delighted for Sadie to find success by doing something that scared her, but that she had long dreamed of pursuing. I also loved that it dealt with mental health and healing after years of verbal abuse from a narcissistic relationship, in this case with a parent, and the importance of therapy and continuous work, even when you feel fully healed.
I absolutely love romances like this one. This one felt like a mix between Beach Read and Roomies, giving both depth and lightheartedness. The FMC was cute, relatable, and funny, And for my personal taste, this romance had the perfect amount of spice. I also loved the banter and the group chat text messages (I love texting in romances!). This book demonstrated grief really well, also. Overall, such a fab romance!
Sadie is sometimes hard to like. Brash, jerking, loud, a countless times self-admitted asshole, and really bad self-esteem. She has her moments though,
As someone who’s never had a good roommate situation, even in Park Slope, this living situation sounds amazing.
When Sadie mistakenly matches with Jack on a roommate app instead of a dating app like she thought, the unlikely roommates end up falling in love.
This was a cute (but slightly unbelievable) story - I loved the audiobook!
This was such a cute roommates to lovers story. I love the depth of Jack’s character and his growth with Sadie as he works to overcome his tragic past. These two individuals were polar opposites, but it was a love story that just seemed perfect.
I really enjoyed Falon Ballard’ s debut, Lease on Love. I’m such a sucker for a roommates to lovers story and this was a really delightful read. I’m looking forward to trying her next book! 4 stars
