I loved this book. I read it in one sitting. I’m all in for slow-burn, friends-enemies-to friends-to-lovers romance with great banter. It was like a love letter to writing, to New York City and to love. And to the women who raise and inspire us. It was also very low-angst, which is what I’m leaning towards right now. I loved all the details about writing. One of my favorite lines was: “I think what you’re talking about is the second draft effect . . . You know how the second draft is the point where things start to make sense?”

The words in this book are some of the best words I have read in a long while!! Lauren Kate beautifully weaved a story that is going to stay with me for a bit.

I love that I guessed the mystery pretty early on and was still just as excited to see how everything played out.

Brilliant! A slow burn brilliant love book about the publishing of love books!!!

So so good!!!

Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy of this one! Homerun!!!

I love a good enemies to lovers slow burn romance, this one was really sweet. I missed some spice, as I usually opt to go with some over none, but over all, very cute read.

This book was adorable! I honestly wasn’t sure about the first 40-50%, it had a few things I didn’t love in it, but the last half was fantastic! I loved the writer/editor aspect and the friends to lovers storyline. I do wish we got chapters from Noah’s perspective. I think it would have truly made the book. Lanie and Noah’s romance was very much a slow burn and this is a wonderful adult debut from Lauren Kate.

This book was so adorable and I was absolutely drawn to the characters. I didn't had much expectation from this book, but once i finished it, it felt so magical and heartfelt. It was such a quick read and I enjoyed every bits of it.

I would like to thank NetGalley for an ARC of By Any Other Name by Lauren Kate.

Are you looking for a super cute short fast book to get you out of a reading slump! We’ll look no further! By Any Other Name is just that! I didn’t have the highest expectations going in but boy was I wrong! This book grabbed me and I flew through it! The story follows Lanie and how not everything we believe is true.

Lanie is a hopeless romantic who loves her job now more than ever with the promise of the promotion she has been diligently working towards. And the way she’s going to solidify the promotion is by working with her favorite author and she couldn’t be more excited. That said, the author has a terrible case of writers block so she has her work cut out for her. Then they meet and her world is rocked to her very core. What happens when everything you thought, believed in and held true all of a sudden isn’t. Its a sweet, funny, eye opening, fun read that also touches on some emotional subjects with grace, honesty and humor after a while. I found the first part half of the book a little slow as Lanie was so focused that she was almost incapable of any changes or having things not go 100% her way. Be patient as it got better and lead to a lovely sweet ending.

I adored this story. There was something about Lanie that called to me. She was neurotic and on this quest to please people while ignoring herself thinking somehow this would fulfill her mother's dying wish. You could sense Lanie was living her life to fulfill her mother's wish based on the comprehension of her 10-year-old self. Her favorite author may have been her guide, but she was trying to fulfill a promise to her mother. Noah was a blessing in disguise for Lanie. He pushed her outside her lists and made her experience life. Noah had his own obstacles to overcome, but the chemistry and their friendship pushed both of them to work through the obstacles that were stopping them from moving forward.

This is such a charming read. It's perfect for an afternoon and leaves you with a feeling of hope when you get to that final page.

This book was so cute and fun! Any book that deals with authors and the publishing world is an automatic yes for me. I adored the story and connected with the characters easily. It was not a "spicy" book, but rather a heartful journey to love and adventure. The instant attraction and dynamic between Noah and Lanie is apparent right from the beginning and it just helped to propel the story forward that much faster. I loved this book so much!

Obsessed with this book. I don't know if this really could count as enemies to lovers, but it has elements of that. I love a heroine who is good at her job and whose life isn't falling apart (besides a break up, whatever). This book really rang with optimism and human kindness. I loved their explorations of new york and POSITANO!!! I don't generally like romances with only one perspective but I really loved this one. I loved the proud jewish heroine. I loved her grandmother. I loved this. A++

This is definitely going to be in my top 5 of 2022. I L-O-V-E-D this entire book, from the first sentence until the end. I was less than three chapters in when I preordered the book so I could own a physical copy. I love Noa and the intricate stories woven throughout this book. I cannot stop thinking about this book and can’t wait to recommend it to everyone I know.

I was hooked right away and read it in a little less than 2 days. The premise was fresh and different and I loved all the book talk throughout it. The main characters were fun andI wish we had the chance to get to know them even more. I loved BD, Rufus and Meg SO much as well. They were so fun and it was a great book cast.

I would have loved more focus on the email relationship/friendship that Lanie and Noah built before they met. The ending felt abrupt and left me really wanting more which is why I rated it at 4 stars.

What is there not to love about this book? Lanie is an editor and is given the chance to work with her idol- THE Noa Callaway. Noa is late on her next manuscript and Lanie has to help her with her writers block. That shouldn't be a problem- even if nobody has met Noa in person.
This romance was so much fun to read. Any book about a book or writer gets extra points and this one checks even more boxes with the light and fun story that was easy to read.

Be still, my heart. I haven’t swooned quite this emphatically over a romance novel in ages. Lauren Kate’s latest novel By Any Other Name is such a beautifully told love story. Lanie and Noah are richly brought to life through a side of NYC most of us will never see. This binge-able book will satisfy any lover of a good slow burn. I can’t wait to read it again and truly wish I could read Noa Calloway’s books.

** I received this as an E-ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review, Thank you!**

I had a great time reading this book. I'll be honest and say I didn't know too much going into this book. I really enjoyed the general plot and the romance novel aspect. There were parts that felt a little off to me. I don't know if it was the writing, or there just wasn't anything interesting going on at that moment. I also wish the book was longer, I felt like this would've helped flush out the characters and relationship a little bit more. Overall though it was super cute and adorable and I had a really great time reading it.

Who doesn’t love a book about love and books?! I was hoping to read a light, happy, easy story and that’s just what I got. Was it predictable? A bit, but in the most comforting way. I’m not always a fan of enemies-to-lovers romances, but this one worked for me. Definitely recommend!

This was a delightfully precious romp. Sometimes romance and tropes are exactly what you need and I was in the right place and the right time for this book. It was fun and quick and easy to read. The characters were likeable and the story was believable. I look forward to more from this author.

As a thank you to Netgalley and the publisher, I write this unbiased review of Lauren Kate’s latest novel “ By Any Other Name.” In this romance novel that utilizes an enemies to lovers trope and exceeds the expectations of this romance reader is the story of Noa Callaway. Callaway is a popular romance novelist who for nearly 10 years has become part of our main characters life and as a romance reader you can empathize with her on the importance of novels and their role in our lives. Callaway has recently developed writers block and is plot device involving romance editor : Lanie. If Lanie is able to assist Callaway in removing their writers block than they will be promoted within the publishing team. Lanie has been a fan of their work for nearly 10 years and develops a close friendship with the author. The novel explores Lanie’s personal goals and assists the character to reflect on her history as a romantic. Kate explores the realities romance writers go through to develop their stories and expands on what inspired them to write their stories in the first place. Out of five stars on goodreads , I give the novel a strong four out of five stars. I highly recommend this for those who need a wholesome yet hopeful read that will make you smile from beginning to end.

By Any Other Name

Laine doesn't know much about love, what she does isn't good.

She's in a relationship with Ryan and it's not working out. They get engaged but he wants more from her than she's willing to give, so she breaks it off.

As a romance editor, she's tasked with an amazing author, Noa - who she's always dreamed about editing.

There is a promotion on the line with this newest book.

Several things come in to play. No one knows who Noa Callaway is - he's elusive and he hasn't finished his latest work. Laine needs him to finish.

They start having meetings which prompts him to come out that he's THE NOA CALLAWAY, he finishes his book and gets the girl all in one.

I really enjoyed this title by LK! I've read several by her and this one is so different and equally as great as the others!

I just reviewed By Any Other Name by Lauren Kate. #ByAnyOtherName #NetGalley
