This was a lovely and cosy festive read with great characters and an intriguing plot. I had a lot of fun with this one, as I normally do with Trisha's work.
I loved this book as all other trisha Ashley Christmas novels. Gives a warm cosy feeling, just what you want at Christmas time
I’m so glad that I persevered with this one. I put it down and a while later picked it up again…then couldn’t put it down. What a story. I loved it. Plenty of twists and turns . Curl up and enjoy
I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
It's no secret how much I love a Christmas book, add Trisha Ashely (who in my opinion is one of the greatest Christmas love story authors ever) and you know I'm going to read this book!
I adored One More Christmas at the Castle, it has everything you could want from a Trisha Ashley Christmas book; harming characters, a feel-good story with lots of laughs, so much heart and huge amounts of festive cosy charm - I loved every page and will definitely be re-reading it over the festive period!,
I will admit I get pulled in by a pretty cover, then I’m worse if it’s a pretty Christmas cover and then add Trisha Ashley’s name to it and it’s a must read. It’s festive, cozy, well written as always, full of relatable and interesting characters. It will make you hungry though, Trishas descriptions made me want everything, you will end up on a snack run , delightful festive read, one I thoroughly recommend
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Another great read from Trisha Ashley. Her books never disappoint. Just lovely writing.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read this lovely book in exchange for an honest review.
I have been reading Trisha Ashley for many years and she never disappoints me. I have enjoyed some books more than other, but I always enjoy them.
This was no different. The cast of characters, the setting and the gentle humor offset with the serious issues that are explored in this book.
If you are new to Trisha Ashley, try her, she is a delight,
One More Christmas at the Castle by Trisha Ashley such a good Christmas read. I love Trisha Ashley books and always look forward to the next one. This is one of her best in my opinion.
One More Christmas at the Castle by Trisha Ashley is an easy read to read over the Christmas/ New Year holidays. It was a fascinating story about a woman who finding she is terminally ill chooses to spend her last Christmas with family members who may inherit her castle and wealth.
I enjoyed the storyline and the characters and found the story engrossing and thoroughly enjoyed reading this book
Highly recommended
One more Christmas at the Castle - Trisha Ashley
Firstly I just want to say that I found there to be a few too many characters for me to keep tabs on, and this did hinder my thoughts on the book as this made it hard for me to truly get into it. This being said I still thought it was a strong storyline, perfect for the Christmas period with some lovely food descriptions to get your mouth watering. I also really enjoyed the setting of the book, and thought the author did a fab job setting the scene. Thank you very much Netgalley and Random House UK for the e-arc in return for my honest opinion, I can only apologise for the delay.
This is such a lovely, kind book, perfect to get you in the Christmas spirit. Trisha Ashley’s writing is so lyrical, she virtually paints the scene in front of your eyes. The pages are rich with similes and metaphors.
Dido and Henry are in a purely business partnership, running a wonderful catering company called Heavenly Houseparties.
Their contract over the extended Christmas period is with Mrs Powys. A formidable lady, in her later years, who wants to have a special Christmas, that nobody will forget. The setting is the stunning Mitras Castle.
A host of quirky and eclectic characters are assembled for a good old fashioned family Christmas, whether they like it or not.
Whatever you are looking for, from a cosy Christmas read, One More Christmas at the Castle will tick those boxes.
A gorgeous family Christmas in a traditional setting. Plenty of snow bringing ice skating and tobogganing opportunities. More sumptuous festive food than your stomach could stretch to. The icing on the cake is an adorable dog called Plum. What more could you want?
I spent a lovely few days, reading this book by the light of the Christmas Tree, wrapped up warmly in a cosy blanket. By the time I had turned the final page, I felt Christmas ready, and had an urge to have a glass of port. Sadly my budget will not stretch to the Fortnum and Mason catalogue, so loved by Mrs Powys.
This Christmas book is delightful, warm and witty, full of Christmas cheer. If you are feeling short of Christmas spirit, this 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️read will help you get there.
Henry and Dido are invited to support Sabine to have one last Christmas at the castle. Sabine is not a fan of Dido at all. Dido is the queen of lists and checking them twice.
Time for Sabine to share her childhood memories with Xan. It was a delicious read full of festive food and drinks.
I usually enjoy this author's books, but I was let down by this one. Reading all of the five-star reviews, I'm beginning to wonder if I read a different book! There were too many characters, and I was having trouble remembering who was who among them. Dido and Xan made an excellent couple. The incredible coincidences and connections strained my belief a little too much.
Sabine is a fantastic character, and Dido was tedious, so why did we have so many more chapters from the latter's point of view rather than Sabine's?
It is still good christmas escapism, and if you are a fan of Trisha Ashely or even christmas books, then give this a go!
Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book. Idyllic location that set the tone of the book to perfection. Perfect seasonal book to get you in the mood for the festive season. Love this author she’s one of my favourites and always pulls a hit out the bag
I was really disappointed with this book. I've read and enjoyed quite a few of Trisha Ashley's books so my expectations were high. I think the problem here was that there were too many similarities to the wonderful "Twelve Days of Christmas" but unlike that book, which is my favourite Trisha Ashley, I didn't like many of the characters. In fact I cared so little about them that, in spite of trying several times, I didn't even finish the book.
Yes, I know I'm...late. lol.
A good, solid Christmas book that will satisfy all of Trisha's many fans, me included.
Roll on next Christmas!
A new Trisha Ashley book is always a treat and this one is a lovely warm read.
Dido is hired to recreate the childhood Christmas of the owners memories with her extended family. It’s a book that grabs you right into the middle of the storyline , enjoying the build up to Christmas and getting to know both the characters and the castle. Who wouldn’t want to spend Christmas in such a wonderful setting. You really are part of a big Christmas bubble where Dido is working hard to make sure that everyone has the perfect time.
This was a great read. The combination of the romance between Dido and Xan and the mysteries uncovered as Sabine's memoirs takes shape make for an irresistible story within a fabulous Christmassy setting. With a brilliant set of supporting characters and secret reveals a plenty, this is impossible to put now. Highly recommend.
One More Christmas at the Castle by Trisha Ashley was a fab Christmassy read. I love all Trisha’s book and this one was as great as all the rest. I was left wanting more, I felt I was there walking in the countryside and skating on the lake. Looking forward to my next book by Trisha.
