I love Nick Spalding's books but I haven't read one for a little while.
This story is about Amy and Joel who were once married but after an acrimonious divorce they now have an unhealthy and somewhat toxic relationship.
Joel hates Amy because she took basially wiped the floor with him in the divorce and Amy hates Joel because due to him she lost the job she loved. They find themselves in neighbouring bungalows on the Madives and start to play childish tit for tat pranks.
Its actually a really easy and fun read!
Such a fun read! Loved this one!
Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC.
Brilliant gem of a book. Laugh out loud funny. The characters are horrible, which makes it that much better.
Two people take their new partners to the Maldives, the place their marriage started and they were the happiest. But, they manage to show up on the island at the same time!!! What a plot line. You can almost see the explosions and hear the snark. The cover synopsis pulled me in, but author Nick Spalding's excellent writing kept me reading and snickering the whole way through.
A quick, easy, humorous and fun Beach read. Nick Spalding has written many fun books.
Thank you #NetGalley, #AmazonPublishingUK, #NickSpalding and #YouAgain? for the book for my honest review.
The sense of humor in this book didn't appeal to me. DNF.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
You Again? is a romantic comedy novel by Nick Spalding. It tells the story of Amy and Joel, who were once married but divorced after a year. Eight years later, they find themselves back in the same hotel in the Maldives, where they spent their honeymoon. They are both there with new partners, but they can't help but feel drawn to each other again. This will make you laugh and cry, loved it!
Loved the hilarious and fun book!!! Loved the characters!!! Haha their interactions had me literally laughing out loud. I’ve been recommending to everyone I know looking for a fun, funny beach read.
Super cute book that would be perfect for anyone needing a summer read this year. It was quick and funny with an actual story and well written characters.
I love Nick Spalding's books. Always good to cheer you up and give you a good giggle. Enjoyed this one but not my favourite.
You Again was such a fun light hearted read and would make a great summertime read.
When ex's Amy and Joel find themselves vacationing in the same spot as their honeymoon several years later, post divorce and with new partners, they can't believe they will be forced to spend the entire trip in such close proximity. There is no way either of them will be able to relax and enjoy the trip. What ensues are the hilarious attempts to outshine the other and a week full of sabotaging the others vacations.
Will they be able to leave any of their baggage behind?
I enjoyed You Again by Nick Spalding! I thought it was a fun and fast read. Recommend for reading poolside or preparing for your own island getaway!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.
When I first read the description for this book, I thought I was going to be reading a happily-ever-after, second chance romance. The one-up-manship and animosity between Amy and Joel made me laugh. The Maldives was a beautiful backdrop to their interactions, and made me want to plan my own vacation!
I really enjoyed this book! I had hopes for the ending, but at the same time had no idea what the ending was actually going to bring lol I kept my interest the whole time and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I really enjoyed this book !
I went into this book expecting to see a divorced couple reunite after spending a week on the same island they honeymooned on.
Instead, I got a group of adult children placing spiteful pranks and being miserable for most of the book.
The ending did go a little ways to redeeming itself, as the mystery to who caused their marriage to crumble was answered and we did see them come to a friendlier place but it wasn't enough to undo how annoying they all were.
It took me a long time to read this book and I do not feel it was worth it.
A divorced couple in new relationships returns to the scene of one of their most romantic moments and crosses paths again.
What could go wrong? Or right?
I expected a typical enemies-to-lovers story, but with the fun twist of them being divorced. I got a story full of surprises down to the ending.. Witty characters, an unpredictable plot, Definitely a win.
This book was just ok. Neither of the main characters would get out of their own way and both were somewhat unlikable. There were hints at a deeper theme in regards to the island they were on, but it never really went anywhere. Decent summer beach read.
Nick does it again haha had me in bits throughout and really enjoyed the book. I’ve read a few of his and I always enjoy them, this was no different, great little summer read 😊
I have a fundamental issue with the fact that BOTH members of the original couple decided to go back to where tthey went on honeymoon but with new partners? I mean - who does that!? And then you get to know the characters and you realise yup thats why, they act like children with name calling and stupid decisions.
The book is laced with Spaldings usual humour making it a quick laugh out loud yet utterly forgetable beach read.
Enjoyed previous books by this author and this one is a good, light read. Nick Spalding gets the humour spot on at times and with a plot focussing a pair of exs on holiday what could possibly go wrong? Worth a read for a few hours of escapism.
This one fooled me. When I saw this cute book I thought it was going to be about second-chance romance. Joel and Amy were not your typical divorced couple, but they had this passion for one another. The passion they had for each other was palpable and intense. Not only were they the power-house couple at work, but they imploded over a deal gone wrong. Joel and Amy both blame the other for the huge deal they lost. Amy was fired and Joel was allowed to stay on at the real estate company. Fast forward and both have new loves in their lives and are embarking on separate holidays to the Maldives. As fate would have it they are heading to the same destination. The petty pranks and one upper they pull on one another really depict the immaturity levels they both share. I won't give any spoilers just be aware that some of the pranks are outlandish and downright hilarious. Nick Spalding crafted a hilarious novel, don't be fooled this is not a romance. It is a fun read.
Thank you, NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for the ARC.
