I was sent a copy of this book for an honest review.

Well, I don't know how much more honest I can be about this book, but it was a really good read, very funny but also had a nicely satisfying end. Definitely worth a read 😊

A huge disappointment by an otherwise wonderful author. A divorced couple takes their respective honeymoons with their new spouses at the same location. A lot of potential for a great story that just didn't go anywhere.

I started out really enjoying and laughing at this story. Very descriptive and well written but, as it went on I was anxious to get to the end. The escapades were anticipated and predictable and mostly entertaining however there were too many. I did really enjoy the ending though. Great way to tie up a decent story.

DNF. I stopped reading at the 40 percent mark. There are some genuine chuckles in this novel, in which Amy and Joel meet up eight years after their honeymoon in the Maldives after a nasty divorce and with their new partners. I can imagine how awkward it would be to be on a small island with my ex after our venom-filled divorce, but we’d probably just shoot each other some nasty glances and do our best to avoid each other. The silly antics these alleged adults got up to as a means of exacting revenge on one another simply strained credulity and I couldn’t finish.

Thanks for NetGalley for the opportunity to review this novel.

Joel Sinclair and his girlfriend, Cara, are at the airport ready to head to the Maldives for a must-needed vacation. Joel is dreaming of his favorite cocktail - an espresso martini - called the Sin City. That’s when he sees her! His ex-wife, Amy, with another man. He’s shocked and prays she doesn’t see him. Their life together was fraught with problems and his is glad to be divorced from her. But luck is not with him because onboard the airplane, Amy and her significant other are seated across the aisle from them. Oh no! Oh yes! They are all headed to the same island in the Maldives.

When they arrive at their designated island, they are pleased with the beauty of the place and are adamant that they will not let the presence of the others ruin their vacation. But of course, they all run into one another. Let the slap stick comedy begin! I howled with laughter!

This is a funny book and a bit silly at the same time. I needed laughs that I found here so that made it great. It also examines the bad feelings that Joel and Amy had leftover from their divorce. Is there a way they can forgive one another? Now, I want to visit the Maldives.

Thank you NetGalley, Nick Spalding and Amazon Publishing UK for the book You Again? This is my personal review.
I was excited to read this book from the snippet I read about the book. I wanted to like this book and I tried to, but the characters just did not come across as any one I would want to meet. The location of the story is amazing. Who wouldn’t want to spend time in the Maldives?
The interaction between the characters was for me annoying.
It was an easy quick read but one I didn’t really enjoy.

My thoughts…
This was my first Nick Spalding book and it was okay. The book started well. The first couple of chapters had some laugh-out-loud moments. But, the humour stayed the same and the characters didn’t go beyond being petty. As the story continued, I felt like I was reading more about children than adults. I liked the ending though. Not what I expected.

This is the funniest book I have read is quite a while. It is laugh out loud funny. Revenge is a dish best served at a romantic resort when warring exes do battles and perform antics on each other.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a good beach book, an easy and quick reading when you want to just relax. Positive: the structure of the book was very intriguing (odd chapters are for "him", the even chapters for "her") and it gives the prospective of both the main characters. Cons: I was able to anticipate all the plot twists in advance...I probable have read too many of this kind of book. But I would definitely recommend it.

A good beach read with some humor even if the outcome is predictable. The author was creative in setting up some of the situations between the two couples.

This is an hilarious read! I enjoyed it a lot and literally couldn't stop laughing throughout the book!

Joel and Amy were married for four years, and the marriage ended very badly two years ago. They are now both with new partners, and without knowing they both book the same week holiday in the same perfect maldivian island.

The situations they encounter when they are forced to be together for the week are laugh out loud funny. The book is told alternating Joel's and Amy's points of view, which worked perfectly (it reminded me a bit of 'Love... from both sides', another Spalding's book I read a long time ago and also liked a lot).

** Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion. **

A great story that brings laughter as well as emotion throughout. It is easy to engage with the characters and relate to them and how they are feeling.

I was issued this book for my honest review by NetGalley.

I had read another of Nick Spalding's books and enjoyed it. I really enjoyed "You Again" as well.

You need to get used to the British form of language and humor. It is laugh out loud funny at times. Kind of embarrassing to be sitting amongst people and suddenly burst out laughing. About all you can do is smile, shrug your shoulders and point at your kindle!

Along with all the funny going ons, and crazy situations Mr. Spalding's characters get themselves into--there is a bit of a message delivered along with a good story, and lots of laughs. In the books I have read from Nick Spalding I was left with something to think about.

I don't know if you can ask more from a book--laughs, entertainment, and something to ponder.

Well done.

Having read some of this author’s previous books I was pleased to received an advanced readers copy of his latest offering, ‘You Again?’

Straight away we are introduced to Joel and Amy, both on their way for a romantic holiday to the Maldives, back to the same location they went for their honeymoon. Only this time, eight years later, they are with their new partners having gone through a messy divorce from each other. Typically they’ve both unknowingly picked the same week to return to their paradise, what could possibly go wrong with this scenario?

We are told the story from Joel and Amy’s perspectives, each chapter flitting between the two. This author is very adept at telling the story from both character angles and is something have liked in his previous books. There are also some very comical moments which, even though this is chick-lit from a male author, gives the outlook from both sexes, meaning it’s not always one sided stereotypes as can often be. However, the reason for the low score is that I just didn’t gel with the overall storyline, it was a little too predictable at times and I only persevered because of the writing style, comical moments. This didn’t unfortunately hit the right notes with me but wouldn’t deter me from reading more by this author in the future.

Joel and Cara are heading for a much needed vacation in the Maldives. Joel is looking forward to relaxing in luxury by the sea with his sexy, much younger girlfriend. All his hopes are dashed when he spots his ex-wife, Amy, and her fiancé, Ray at the ticket counter, His memories of the anger and hurt involved in their very messy divorce rise quickly to the surface and try as he might to tamp them down, he can't while he keeps running in to them. Then he's horrified to see them board the same plane, then get on the same speedboat to the Maldives. Of course they end up in adjoining water cabins. Amy is also extremely angry and dismayed to run into the man who broke her heart and ruined her career. Moving to a cabin across the island helps a little but they keep running into each other. Soon Amy and Joel are sabotaging each other and the results are hilarious if a little sad. Nick Spalding has written another highly entertaining novel about love, regret, relationships and set it against the gorgeous backdrop of a beautiful tropical resort. The narrative alternates between Joel and Amy's point of view. Spalding is an excellent writer, the anger and humor comes across on every page. His command of the language is stellar, there were several turns of phrase that had me stop to reread. This was a great book for anyone who wants an escape from their daily grind - I could almost feel the island breeze. Fans of the Bridget Jones and the Shopaholic series and British rom-coms will adore this book. Many thanks to Net Galley for the chance to read an ARC and to Nick Spalding for several hours of mental vacation!!

A middle aged man with his much younger girlfriend are on the way to a luxurious holiday. To his horror it turns out, that his ex-wife with her new partner are on the same flight. Are they going towards the same destination? Oh, of course... not? Yes!
I found the beginning very irritating. I didn´t like the way Joel behaved. I didn´t like the language. It´s supposed to be funny, but for me it is like observing a big silly child who happened to be in a grown body by some strange coincidence. Probably this is exactly what the author wanted to achieve, nevertheless it nearly made me to put the book down.
As the story unfolds, we come to see that nothing is as it seems. Relationships are never easy, it´s something that needs commitment from both parties, and even that does not guarantee that it will all work out.
I find this book cheesy, silly, funny and irritating. It´s a typical beach read for me, a product designed to provide quick and easy entertainment. So if this is what you are looking for then go ahead. If you are more into serious literature - stay away.

You, Again is the tale of Amy and Joel, thirty-something Brits who went from co-workers to being married to each other, before their professional and personal relationship crashed and burned. Two years post-divorce, they both turn up at the same Maldives resort they honeymooned at with their significant others. All their lingering resentments and unresolved emotions come to a head during what is supposed to be their vacations.

I had mixed feeling about this book - I found myself feeling letdown and disappointed by it, and I think a big reason is that it is being marketed and described as a romance. And that’s very clearly not what it is. I would describe this as a character-driven fiction. Yes, the main characters were once in love and yes, they are each there with a new lover. HOWEVER, the storyline isn’t driven by a love story. This is not a second-chance romance (although the book’s description very much advertises it as such) or is there much of a happily ever after. If you go into the book with a better understanding of what you’re getting, I think you’ll be much more satisfied.

I laughed out loud so many times in this book! I don’t think I’ve ever read a RomCom by a male author and his perspective is fabulous. Definitely recommend.
When divorced couple Joel and Amy find that they have chosen the same remote Maldives island to bring their new fiancé/girlfriend to for a week vacation- only drama can ensue.
The other couple shows up at the most romantic moments and ruins each time.
Can they survive a week nor will they figure out how to co-exist with one another?

a funny read about two people who were once married and are now in a feud. there is a lot of comedy in the book, and not too much romance, which I actually enjoyed. however, I found the plot to be way too unrealistic and the characters' immaturity was not reflecting their actual age. it was still a pretty light and fast read.

‘You Again?’ is another laugh-out-loud read from Nick Spalding. When Amy and Joel plan a relaxing break in the Maldives, the last thing they want to see is each other! After a bitter divorce, both partners have fallen for the same Expedia offer for a week in paradise with the new partners in tow. Things quickly go south when they realise they will be trapped in paradise together for a week and what follows is a tale of score-settling and jealousy.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book - the dual narrative made it highly entertaining to compare accounts. Nick Spalding’s usual wit is rapier sharp and there are some proper laugh-out-loud moments. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
