A meeting of fate during a snowstorm throw together a nurse and a software developer. Levi and Jane are unexpectedly facing death in a gondola when Jane has to use her skills to help save Levi. The two really connect and Levi faces some tough life decisions if he wants a future with Jane.

Jane’s story is gut wrenching and her reluctance to commit to anything or anybody is very understandable. Will Levi give Jane the assurance she needs to have a relationship? Read this book to find out.

I really enjoyed this story by Jill Shalvis. So many feelings were evoked from these characters. The story made me laugh, tear up, and feel! Jill Shalvis is always able to pull me into the story so effortlessly.

Jane and Levi meet during a life and death situation. Levi tells a teeny-tiny lie to his mother in what he thinks are his last moments, and Jane get sucked into playing fake girlfriend. Things stop being fake for Levi very quickly, but Jane, who lives her life with no attachments, needs to figure out what's real before she loses everything.

I was in a bit of a reading slump and I knew that if I picked up this book I'd have a great time reading it. I love Levi and Jane, and the backstory of Charlotte and Mateo is super adorable. All of the characters have unique voices, which I really don't know how she does after having written so many books. Jill Shalvis consistently delivers lovable characters, interesting and believable conflicts and tropes, and just an all-around good time.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

This book has heart and humor and a gorgeous setting in the Lake Tahoe area. Jane and Levi find themselves in a near-death experience on a ski lift gondola that triggers changes in both of their lives, although neither are yet ready to commit to a relationship or permanence. Their friends Charlotte and Mateo are also unable to recognize the feelings they have for each other, despite obvious signs along the way. How everyone comes to their happy ending is a journey well worth taking, and I look forward to visiting Sunrise Cove again in the future.

Great story! If you are looking for a book that is enjoyable and makes you feel good this is it! I laughed so much reading this book. You can picture the different scenarios, they being described so perfectly. I enjoyed all the characters but my favorite was Levi. It's just a feel good, enjoyable book!

Jill Shalvis is one of the only women's general fiction writers that I consistently enjoy. Even her more issue driven books are still so compelling, with characters I love and romances that manage to be swoony despite taking a little bit of a back seat.

Jane, Levi, Mateo and Charlotte all are equally interesting characters. Jane and Charlotte's struggles to connect and be vulnerable are well-written, and Levi & Mateo are sketched as really supportive (but not annoyingly perfect) romantic foils for the women.

I enjoyed the hook of this story (Jane and Levi's near-death experience), and was sad when the book ended, a huge mark of success for me. Four solid stars.
