The plot itself is faster and more interesting, which I was very happy about after the first novel, but the exaggerated philosophizing that is typical of Sapko (I wouldn't even call that a negative, as I personally enjoyed it and it made me smile more than once, but I can understand someone who is averse to it), the gratuitous amount of Latin, and the use of an awful lot of names, places and titles sometimes really makes reading difficult.
