Twelve Dates of Christmas by Laurel Greer
Sutter Creek, Montana #7

Luke and Emma have known one another for years. They lived in a small town, they went to school together, they knew a lot about one another but never were really friends as they were so different one from the other.

When this story begins, they are again at loggerheads because Emma wants to buy Luke’s grandfather’s business and her vision for the lodge is opposite of Luke’s. With a big Winter festival to get through, grandfather getting over pneumonia, and Luke busy with his fulltime job, Emma offers to help out.

The story deals with the two getting to know one another as adults, leaving behind some preconceived notions formed in the past, and coming to terms with what would truly be best for the lodge and for the two of them as individuals.

The ideas for 12 days/dates of Christmas activities were interesting and provided opportunity for the two to spend time together and see one another in both a positive and not so positive light. In the end, both Emma and Luke grew as people as they grew together. The plot was fairly simple, straightforward, without a huge break-up event, and had a nice holiday feel. It is not my favorite romance but it is a solid little story and will please many.

Thank you to NetGalley and HQN – Special Edition for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Emma Halloran has a vision and she wants to bring it to life. This involves a lodge that might be sold by Luke Emerson as he works hard to protect his grandfather's legacy. They are at loggerheads. More than that, they are drawn to one another. Of course they are. This is a romance. But I loved it! I love the ideas that Emma had and I loved Luke's reasons for wanting to sell.

Emma and Luke knew one another in high school. Having gone in different directions in life, they are now back together, but not in a way that seems like it might lead to happiness. However, despite their differences, the crush they had in high school starts to grow. In fact, it begins to spiral out of control. Which of them will give in during this Christmas season?

The setting was wonderful and this was a warm and entertaining read. I had not read previous books in this series or anything by Laurel Greer but I was completely drawn to this story and hope that I can continue with further books in this series.

Many thanks to Harlequin Special Edition and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed Twelve Dates of Christmas. I'm a sucker for a small-town romance anyway, so it wasn't hard to fall into this one and stay there. The story is full of feels, and it also has plenty of witty banter, which is a winner for me. I think the thing I liked best was that it was a Christmas romance with a fantastic couple and a wilderness lodge, but it's not completely cheesy. Laurel Greer makes these characters feel authentic, and their story is a great combination of romantic and fun.

If you're looking for a Christmas romance to get you in the holiday mood, this one definitely fits the bill. I loved the hate to love relationship, from their banter to their actual relationship and how they worked together. They both had their own goals, but it was great to see them come together.

I also really loved the setting and fell in love with the location created. I definitely see myself going back and reading the rest of the series. Thankfully this one can be read as a stand-alone without having read the other books.

Overall it was a super cute romance that was well paced and easy to devour in a single setting. It also is perfect to put you in the holiday mood!

Engaging, warm, and set in a beautiful place, TWELVE DATES OF CHRISTMAS by Laurel Greer is a lovely holiday romance and is sure to get you into a festive mood.

Emma Halloran has always faded into the background of her family and wants to prove to herself and her family that she has what it takes to follow her passion, and for her, that's creating a stunning eco-lodge that would become the ultimate wedding destination. There's only one problem - getting the Emerson's to sell the lodge. Luke Emerson has his own plans for his family's business and while this may not be his dream job, he isn't going to stand by and watch it leave the family. But as Emma and Luke butt heads, will romance start to blossom in the most unlikely of places?

Endearing characters, a stunning lodge, and plenty of mishaps and drama along the way make TWELVE DATES OF CHRISTMAS by Laurel Greer an enjoyable read with a classic Christmas romance feel. Emma is determined and intelligent, while Luke is loyal and hardworking, and it was lovely to watch them recognise the connection that lies between them.

A lovely romance to read this Christmas.

4,5* rounded to 5
This is a riveting, engrossing, sweet and highly entertaining Christmas romance set in a small town.
I rooted for the characters as I loved Luke and Emma.
Emma seemed a bit "Miss Perfection" when I first met her but she grew on me and I loved her character arc.
I loved Luke since the first pages: there's plenty to love in this man as he seems caring,a bit clumsy, and read to confess his love to Emma even if he thinks he dislike her.
It's an enemy-to-lover romance and the evolution of the relationship is well written and realistic.
The small town setting, the characters are well developed and the plot never drags.
I appreciated that it didn't seem another Hallmark movie like novel as there's some more realism even if it remains a lovely Christmas novel.
Highly recommended.
