Honest feedback from my nine year old daughter:
I really liked the story, the plot, and I loved the characters. The drawings were excellent. I also liked how Buster has his inner fish growing throughout the story. It was an overall funny story I would like to share with my friends.
A scaredy house cat is left home alone for the first time and is forced to face monsters to save the day. This middle grade graphic novel is by Mason Dickerson.
The first page had me laughing because it depicts every cat so well. The cat goes on a quest to find a plant that will banish the spirits that have overtaken his house. It is adorable. It includes other animals from the neighborhood and even though they never leave the neighborhood you get the feeling of an epic quest. Which was a great touch because for a cat who has never left the yard, the entire neighborhood would be an epic quest. It is silly and fun. I think my middle schoolers will love this title.

This was amazing! I loved the story, the characters, the artwork, just everything about the book! This was a great adventure story filled with sad moments, but also a lot of humor. This book is definitely being added to my favorites list. I can't wait to read more Housecat adventures!
Thanks to Random House Children's, Random House Graphic and NetGalley for the ARC!
This is a strange, but fun middle grade level graphic novel about a house cat who has been left behind to protect their human's house. The only problem is, it is being haunted by evil spirits, that want to do harm.
With the help of two strays Chancy and Nova, he gets the help he needs to fight the creatures but not without having lots of adventures with crows and dogs and people.
It is written as though there will a sequel, which would be nice.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
THIS GRAPHIC NOVEL WAS SO CUTE. The art style was fantastic, the pacing and storyline was unique and charming, and the characters were lovable and fun! All around a very solid book anyone would enjoy because its got cats coming to the rescue!
What a cute story about a cat doing all he can to save his home and his human from spirits! As a cat owner I found it quite realistic as well. They do so much for their humans to help them feel the best they can.
The Story was sweet and goofy and the illustrations were so cute!! I loved how each cat had their own look to them. They weren’t just all the same cat but different colors!
Thank you so much Netgalley and Mason Dickerson for the chance to read this early!

This was an incredibly cute graphic novel that I think readers of all ages would love (provided that they are cat lovers). A house cat learns about the dangers and wonders of the world outside of his home/front lawn in order to save his human from her depressive episode. Love the subtle discussion of mental illness and ways it can be helped as well as the pet's determinedness to help his human. Very cute. Very sweet.
So cute! I wasn't sure about the art style at first, but it grew on me. And the story is sweet and funny.
This is a very sweet story, though the art style didn't really work for me. This is a personal issue, and I'm sure it'll appeal to the target audience. I will say I wished that the story arc of the 'street kitties' was more fully developed, but perhaps this is going to be a series?
