The story is incredibly fast-paced. This is one not to be missed! Highly recommended! Be sure to check out The Other Family asap.
When they move to a new city and new home for a new start, this family has no idea what the history is of the house or what happened there before them, or do they? Someone is watching this family. Someone knows something. This was an odd strange book but I enjoyed it for the most part.

This was one TWISTED book! Oh my gosh. I thought I could of guessed the secrets of Nora's past, but I was fooled by all of the red herrings! It's such a good read and I can't wait to share my thoughts with my family and friends! I was a little skeptical at first because most didn't absolutely love it, but I most certainly did. It gets 5 stars from me!
If you like thrillers Purely for the sake of reading thrillers, this is for you. I thought it had an interesting premise, but the execution fell flat for me because I saw the twists coming. I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the characters which made it hard to stay invested. It was alright for a neighborhood thriller, but to be honest I think that neighborhood thrillers may be overdone.
A psychological thriller that is a real page turner. It’s the perfect home for the perfect family. Moving from California to make a fresh start in Brooklyn, the family expected to live in a tiny place. The apartment has a huge kitchen, a backyard and lots of light. What they don't know is its previous residents were victims of a horrific triple homicide. Still unsolved. Things begin to happen, strange things. Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the advance ecopy.
Nora and her family move to NYC after her husband, Keith, is transferred. She speaks secretly to Teddy, and tells Teddy of her love. Keith suspects Nora of having an affair, but Nora can't tell Keith the truth. On top of this secret, Nora is keeping another secret, that she knows about the family that was murdered 25 years earlier in the house they are renting. When a family down the street befriends Nora and her family, Teddy warns Nora to be careful, and not to trust anyone. Then, when Jacob starts following Nora's daughter Stacey, and calling her Anna, Nora knows that her carefully crafted secret life may be exposed, and she must protect herself and her family at any cost.
This is a tense thriller, with a few twists. You know that something is going on just beneath the surface, but you can't put your finger on exactly what is happening. However, as pieces start to be revealed, the sinister secret is exposed. I enjoyed peeking into the lives of Nora and her family. I had some inkling, but there was at least one twist that was a big surprise to me.
I will look for more of Wendy Corsi Staub's books as I enjoyed this one.
I enjoyed the writing and the fast pace. This book is told by several different characters. Each character had a distinct voice. There were several twists and surprises, and a few that were predictable but fun nevertheless.
Really wanted to enjoy this book. Started it over a few times before making myself finish the book. Thought I was getting one thing and read something totally different. I can understand when a writer create unlikable characters. It helps enhance the story. The question is what happens when none of the characters were likeable and when you care nothing about what happens to them? I tried, y'all, really tried. But at the end I care nothing about these ppl or what they wenr through. I'm open ro reading something else by the author. Because in the end, it wasn't the writing style, but the characters that didn't gel with me.
I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
Not bad. The twist ending was pretty predictable.
Spooky novel that is fun to read. Keith, Nora, and their two teenage daughters temporarily relocate from LA to Brooklyn. Soon the sisters, Stacey and Piper, learn from their neighbor, Lennon, that a family of three was murdered in their apartment 25 years ago. The novel takes off from this point as the family tries to figure out if the killer has returned to the crime scene--which is the best twist of the novel. Great story.
This book started off really strong and I felt there was so much potential but, ultimately, it wasn’t what I expected. I’d give this one a 3.5 stars!
Nora Howell and her family move to New York when her husband is transferred for his job. From the beginning you get the feeling that there is a strain between Nora and her husband. Their daughters are also struggling with teen angst and rebellion. When you take all of this family strife and you add that their new home was once the scene of a grisly triple homicide you know that things will get worse for this family. The author then adds nosy and obsessive neighbors, a guy watching their house, and a mysterious person that Nora calls in secret.
There were lots of twists and turns in this fast paced read. Sadly, the characters are not likeable. I could not empathize with any of them. However, the story itself hooked me.
The Other Family is a domestic thriller about a family who is temporarily relocated from CA to a brownstone in Brooklyn. Shortly after moving there, they find out that a family was brutally murdered in the house. This one had so much potential, but unfortunately fell flat for me. I wasn't able to connect with any of the characters and really just felt bored with the story. Such a bummer, but thank you so much to Netgalley and William Morrow Books for the ARC! :)
Domestic thriller about a family who moves into a Brooklyn brownstone where former residents of the home were brutally murdered. A tight thriller with an interesting twist.
This book started out SO strong and pulled me right in, but then I felt like it didn't go anywhere. I wanted to love it, but this wasn't my favorite of Wendy's.
DNF - Did not finish. I did not connect with the writing style or plot and will not be finishing this title. Thank you, NetGalley and Publisher for the early copy!
I felt that "The Other Family" by Wendy Corsi Staub was a decent story with a pretty good twist, but missed the mark in the writing. It was really tough to make it through some of the dialogue between characters and I personally found most of the characters unlikable and irritating. However, I did enjoy the twist ending although I can see how some found it predictable. Overall, it's not a terrible read, but not one I'd necessarily recommend either.
Nora Howell, her husband, and two daughters temporarily move from California to Brooklyn to spend a year Many years ago the previous occupants of the home were brutally murdered. Nora’s daughter Stacey thinks a stranger is watching their house. The novel’s short chapters alternate the points of view of Nora, Stacey, and Jacob, their mysterious stalker. Nora is keeping secrets about her past that she gradually revealed. The book is fast-paced and tense. I did guess the ending that was not entirely convincing.
This book started out really interesting but I just felt like it didn’t go anywhere. The characters were interesting but I figured out what happened about 20% in. I wouldn’t recommend this one unfortunately.
The Other Family follows Corsi Staub's general format. Mysterious circumstances (there was a murder in the house), things just aren't "right" and an unknown voyeur is keeping track of their comings and goings.
The book doesn't dissapoint for can't put it down thrills.
