A Country Village Christmas - Suzanne Snow

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Canelo and I am leaving this review voluntarily

Can the magic of Christmas and the community of Thorndale bring two lost souls together in love?

Olivia doesn’t have time for Christmas or for romance – she’s got a demanding career and has been burned before when it comes to love. This year, she’s spending the festive season in her dad’s old house, packing it up now that he’s moved out. Her dad failed to mention she wouldn’t be spending her time there alone…

This is an enjoyable light-hearted read. It is the fourth book in the series, however I read and enjoyed this book as a standalone. It is a beautiful tale about love and friendship, as well as a lovely sense of community.

If you are looking for a heart-warming, uplifting, light read then this is the perfect seasonal book for you. With a realistic storyline, this book feels like a real family Christmas.

A Country Village Christmas is a lovely story that leaves you feeling warm and cosy. The characters in this were absolutely lovely and it has a really good festive feel.

Olivia meets Tom in a pub and they both feel a spark of attraction towards each other but they don't follow through on it. They see each other again after that when they realise that they'll be housemates for the weeks leading up to Christmas through some clever planning on Olivia's father's part.

I loved how the relationship between Olivia and Tom blossoms, with each of them gradually sharing their insecurities and fears. I found the book hard to put down at times, wanting to know how things would progress between the two and when they'd realise that they're meant to be together. The setting and mood were perfect for Christmas and set the tone beautifully.

Loved this book, didn't want to put it down, we follow Olivia who is going to sort her dad's house out over Christmas without realising her dad has invited another guest to stay. Well written and good storyline, I loved this easy read and liked Olivia's meddling dad
Highly recommended read

I’ve never read a Suzanne Snow book before, but I think with her name being Snow, it was only apt that the first one was a Christmassy one. Firstly, I am desperate to live in the cottage on the book’s front cover, especially when it’s covered in snow.

It is a very human story. Festive books can have a tendency to err on the fantasy and the whimsical, but this sticks to the real troubles experienced by the main characters, which to me, only accentuates the magic when it does come.

It was warm and comforting and realistic and heartwarming and funny. It’s got everything a real family Christmas should have.

After reading this I desperately need my own atom to bake mince pies with, to decorate my tree with, to cook with, to sing with, to read with. Oh and my own person bookshop wouldn’t go amiss too.

As usual in my reviews, I will not rehash the plot - plenty of reviews like that out there already!

This was an enjoyable light read, perfect for the holidays despite it being set in wintertime!

I liked the interplay between the characters, the setting and seasonal aspect - the fact that books were involved was an added bonus! I didn't realise when I started that the book is part of a series - set in the fictional village o Thorndale - but it works just fine as a standalone read.

The writing evokes a real sense of community, with friendship and family at the heart, and the main characters are well drawn. I could easily imagine this book being made into a "feel good" movie.

This is the first novel I've read by this author, but I'd happily read others.

This book will be perfect if you're looking for an uplifting light read - a cosy novel with a seasonal and romantic theme.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC. All opinions my own.

This was my first visit to Thorndale and after enjoying this peep into the village I can't wait to explore more books by this author.
It's a wonderful, cozy Christmas read. The village setting is picturesque and welcoming and the house and bookshop feel like the perfect place to spend a traditional Christmas.
The characters were both interesting and a deviation from the norm. Olivia being a feisty, self sufficient and strong lady, but not without insecurities. This made her easy to identify with and had me totally invested in the story.
It's a book you will want to devour in one sitting, snuggled up with a hot chocolate. I particularly enjoyed the references to the favorite Christmas classics, this has lengthened my festive book list considerably.
A fabulous, atmospheric, Christmas treat! Perfect for really getting into the spirit of Christmas and all it's festivities.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Another lovely book from Suzanne, which I so enjoyed reading. It was very heartwarming.

I’ve read her previous books and enjoyed them too. It was very beautifully written, about the friendships you make and how the way you see someone, isn’t always the truth. It’s sometimes worth making an effort to change things as you never know what will become of the changes you make.

You could relate to the characters, the surroundings of the story were described so well, it made you want to be there with the characters enjoying the atmosphere.

Recommend it.

Will they won't they style book. Olivia has no time for Christmas or romance, Tom a actor/ turned writer down on his luck befriends Olivia's father and ends up staying at his house while it's being sold. Both not looking for romance, both not looking forward to Christmas. Charming story with a festive feel.

Escapism For The Festive Season…
The fourth book in the Welcome To Thorndale series and Christmas brings more than festivities. A lighthearted, festive, feel good read with some nicely drawn characters and engaging story threads not to mention a delightful backdrop. Escapism for the festive season.

A beautiful Christmas love story. I loved the bookshop being in the shed and I am sure Olivia ‘s father knew what he was doing with Tom and Olivia. Funny how fame can be a double edge sword. Hard being a single parent when it is not your turn to have your child. A jolly good enjoyable read

A cosy tale of snow, books and of course romance. This is one of those books that you want to read in a single sitting. Definitely one for putting you in the Christmas spirit, even if as in my case, it was early August when I read the preview copy.

I absolutely loved this beautiful cosy heartwarming read that was so much more than just a Christmas book. I hadn’t read the other books in this series and was my first visit to thorndale but that didnt detract from this beautiful story about love and friendship and how people are not always who they initially seem and that it is worth going with the flow and giving things a chance as the outcome might surprise you. The characters were relatable and jumped out of the page as did the beautiful descriptions of the surroundings it made me want to spend Christmas curled up in a cottage in Thorndale with the snow outside and a hand chocolate in hand and a good book. This was the perfect escapism read.
