This was a great contemporary romance! The relationship between Hannah and Fox was cute. Overall, I would definitely recommend to anyone who thinks it sounds good!

I received an e-ARC from the publisher.

Hook, Line and Sinker is the second book in the Bellinger sisters series. Hannah and Fox met briefly in book one, It Happened One Summer, and this book focuses on their journey/relationship. Hannah brings the film crew she is working with back to town and ends up crashing in Fox's spare bedroom.

These two have chemistry and Fox secretly pines for Hannah. You'll be rooting for these friends-to-lovers to make it in the end. Both MCs have their own issues. Stemming from experiences he had when younger, Fox feels like he is only good "for a good time" that continues to affect the way he sees himself which is a huge hinderance to developing a deeper connection with any woman, let alone Hannah. He shares his issues with Hannah, she tries to be there and reassure him, but it's a constant struggle of "I'm not good enough but I want to be good enough" which grew a little tiresome by the end.

I will say I loved Hannah. I, too, have a deep appreciation for music and one of my dream jobs when growing up was to be the person who would select music for television and movies. (side note: the early years of Grey's Anatomy was so amazing with it's music choices). I liked her career character growth throughout the book, from struggling with an imposter syndrome of sorts to becoming confident in her own abilities/talent. As for the spice level, I wish there had been more, but the spice that was there was done well.
Overall: 3 stars, I liked it.

So I received this book with the understanding that you didn't need to read book 1 (It Happened One Summer) to read and enjoy this book. After reading the first chapter and feeling like I missed out on a lot, I went and bought book 1 and devoured it. While that book was really good, my favorite characters in it turned out to be Hannah and Fox. This made me extremely excited to read their story.

Hannah is the little sister to Piper. She goes along with most of Piper's ideas and is pretty laid back and chill. Only when they move to the small fishing town, Westport, as a punishment for Piper's most recent actions, they find they don't mind it as much as they thought. In book 2, we learn more about what happened to Hannah and Fox and their budding friendship in book 1. This has lead each of them to secretly pine and want to talk / be near the other. Hannah had moved back to California but returns to Westport for her job - and she ends up staying with Fox, so the sexual tension is thick!

I personally enjoyed this book more than It Happened One Summer. I felt Hannah and Fox more realistic and personable. I enjoyed the back and forth bickering but also the love that grew from friendship. Fox's trauma was handled very well and I felt Hannah's response was great.

Great sexual tension leading up to explosive spice!

Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollins Publishing for the advanced reader copy. All thought and opinions are my own.

This book is the 2nd in the It Happened One Summer series by Tessa Bailey. It features sexy playboy Fox Thornton and Hannah Bellinger who is visiting town and ends up needing a place to stay while she is working. What begins as a friendship quickly escalates but neither of them are willing to move it forward. The music and playlists were a fun addition to their relationship and I love how they each had growth. The sexual chemistry is strong the the steamy parts are all fireworks.

I received a complimentary copy of this book by Tessa Bailey from Avon and Harper Voyager via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity.

What a fun book! I loved the whole thing. I loved the banter between the two. I loved each's insecurities. It is just overall a cute, fun story.

4.5 stars - As much as I liked the 1st book in the series I can honestly say I liked this book even more. Hannah & Fox's 6-month courtship by text messages was a sweet way to get to know each other even if they didn't realize what they were doing. Hannah was still crushing on her boss, Sergio, and with Fox low feelings of self-worth neither realized they were made for each other. Hannah's love for music is the catalyst that brings them together making this a heartwarming & sometimes intense book as Fox shares his vulnerable side.

The author's ending of the book was perfection. Nice touch!

I received this advance review copy from from NetGalley for my honest review.

This was such a good sequel to wrap up the Bellinger sisters' stories!

Hannah and Fox met when Hannah's sister, Piper and Fox's best friend, Brendan fell in love in book 1. They formed a friendship, which was originally weird for Fox especially, because Fox doesn't have female friends. He has hookups, women, but never friendships. The friendship blooms into something unexpected for both of them.

This is a really good book and I am really enjoying reading anything by this author. I love to discover a new to me author and fall in love with all their stories.

Lastly, I will say - Fox is the absolute BEST at dirty talk. This book has some of the best dirty talk I've ever read in a romance, and it almost made me forget I was reading a slow burn.

I read and loved It Happened One Summer. After that I was so excited to read more about Hannah and Fox! Their connection was evident in It Happened One Summer and I couldn’t wait to pick up where that left off. I really loved their friends to lovers relationship and how they truly grew along side each other. Loved it! Thank you Netgalley and Avon for the egalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was my second Tessa Bailey book, and also my favorite. When I finished It Happened One Summer, I was so excited for Hannah and Fox's story and this book exceeded my expectations.
I loved seeing the world of the series through new eyes, and I absolutely adored Hannah and Fox's friendship. There was a level of self-awareness in this sequel (mostly owed to Hannah's perspective) that the first book lacked in many ways, and it made the story so enjoyable. The build-up (talk about a slow burn!) was totally worth the way the romance fell together in the end, and I found myself so attached to Hannah and Fox by the time I closed my Kindle.
There are aspects of Bailey's writing (specifically some of her heroes' dirty talk) that aren't quite for me, but fans of Tessa Bailey will love this book the way that they loved It Happened One Summer. She is a tried and true romance writer, and Hook, Line, and Sinker is a wonderful addition to her works.

I usually love Tessa's books, however, this one I didn't 'love'...liked, yes.

The storyline was good. The Characters were pretty good...I don't know...I don't want to discourage anyone from reading it, because they might love it, but just know that it is kind of a drawn out storyline, slow moving, and a few thrown in side stories.

This second book in the Bellinger Sisters series could easily be read as a stand-alone. Hannah and Fox's story was a friends-to-lovers storyline. We met them in the first book of the series.

I am going to give this a 3 star...I didn't hate it, but didn't love it.

Some new twists keep this rom-com fresh and fun, not to mention hot.Fisherman Fox is considered a player by all, including himself. Then he met Hannah and they become friends....better stay platonic and not screw up the friendship.

Rounding down from 4 1/2 stars.

I really do adore this series, and though I didn't love this one quite as much as the first in the series, I still really, really enjoyed it! It was a fantastic sequel, that was very much it's own story, with only little glimpses of the main characters from It Happened One Summer. It was not only heartbreaking at times, but also very heartwarming, and I felt like I truly knew these characters. It of course had some steam, as I've come to learn all of Bailey's novels do, but not quite as much as others that I've seen her criticized for. Based on the super sweet epilogue at the end, I'm assuming this is the last book in this series....but would Bailey ever decide to write another, you better believe I will absolutely be on board for reading it!

It was such a treat to revisit Wesport with the Bellinger sisters- this time through the eyes of Hannah. I love how Tessa Bailey built Hannah and Fox's relationship over the course of the book. It was the slow burn to end all slow burns, but boy was it worth it! It was a relationship built off of mutual respect and trust, which I think is so important to be represented in romance books today! Bailey has quickly become one of my favorite romance authors, due to her laser focus on creating layered, real characters- especially the strong, independent women! I would love to see more of the Bellinger sisters in the future!

I am an unapologetic Tessa Bailey fangirl. She has an uncanny knack for somehow writing just the book that I need that makes it into my hands at just the right time. Fox is a damaged hero, which I love. Hannah being confident in herself and their relationship truly made this book inspiring and allowed for hard topics to be covered without making me feel despair as a reader. Spice and hope, just what I wanted.

I knew going into this that it most likely wouldn’t be a favorite because I’m not a fan of the friends to lovers trope. However, since I read the first one and it’s Tessa Bailey I decided why not. I liked It Happened One Summer so much more. Not only because of the trope but because Hannah didn’t have that same energy and vibe as her sister. Her character was a little flat.

This was filled with a lot of push and pull on Fox’s end. He had a lot of inner turmoil about how he felt and saw himself. That got old pretty fast and also held up the progress of the relationship between him and Hannah. Like, get over it my guy. So what if the town thought that he was just a good time and wouldn’t be good or faithful to Hannah. She told him so many times that she just wanted him and trusted him. His inner issues got repetitive.

I don’t like books with a bunch of angst and there was a lot of it along with so much pining for the other person. It made the book drag out to me because we know they have chemistry, but we had so much drama that the romance (when it finally happened) was a ”ugh, finally” moment instead of ”yay, finally!”.

So while I love me a Tessa Bailey book, this sadly didn’t work out for me.

**Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!**
This was such a good follow up to "It Happened One Summer". I really enjoyed Hannah's character, especially her persistence. I personally would have enjoyed a bit less of the back-and-forth between the main characters. Overall, it was still an enjoyable read that I would recommend to romance readers!

It Happened One Summer was my favorite romance and one of my favorite books of last year, so I was hesitant going into this knowing there was no way it could live up. Tessa Bailey has easily become one of my favorite go to authors and I will read anything she writes

As their friendship grows and he helps her try to attract her coworker—Fox realizes that he might want more than friendship from Hannah—he might want everything. This is a slow burn friends-to-lovers romance like only Tessa Bailey can deliver to readers. This book was absolutely amazing. I fell in love with “It Happened One Summer” in the first capter and have been anticipating this release since I finished her first book. Tessa Bailey’s writing is fresh and so full of life and emotion. I have read so many of her books and have never wanted to put one down. This one had me feeling exactly what the characters felt. I was in both their heads and had their emotions. I was hooked from the start. The characters are also so well rounded and thought out they feel like real people that exist and I was able go connect with them. The spice was fantastic of course and the romance gave me butterflies. I will always recommend Tessa Bailey and this book is definitely one I will be putting into the hands of all customers
