"It Happened One Summer" was such fun and this sequel did not disappoint! A bit less spicy (but only a bit...I only say that because the spice level in Book One was off the charts), and more feelings-oriented, but who doesn't love friends-to-lovers with so much uncontrollable longing?

Hook, Line and Sinker is not only the title of the latest Tessa Bailey masterpiece, but it's also exactly exactly how the reader feels once they pick up this novel! Tessa Bailey keeps your page turning as she interjects humor and romance in all the right places. True music lovers will love how Bailey captures Hannah's wit and personality through song titles and lyrical puns. She even had me questioning whether or not I should start my own personal vinyl collection! It was great to see Hannah's personality come to life and to see The Bellinger Sisters love and support each other fiercely throughout this book. Overall, excellent sequel to Bailey's It Happened One Summer.

10/10 Would highly recommend! Could not put this book down.

Similar to the first book, this is a steamyyyy one. Fox and Hannah are both like-able characters and I enjoyed the way they evolved separately as well as together. I found this one to be a little more predictable but if you enjoy a good friends-to-lovers, this is for you!

This is the second book in the Bellinger Sisters series, the first being It Happened One Summer centering around party girl, Piper. In this book we get to see Hannah and Fox’s story that started unfolding in book one. This is a very hot friends to lovers book with a lot of spice-Tessa Bailey has yet to disappoint in this area. The relationship between Fox and Hannah is so sincere and their HEA is 100% earned. And as a result of this book (along with book one) I am now actively fantasizing about king crab fisherman. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC! I loved this book so much and was happy to share a review with fellow readers.

For those who love the friends-to-lovers trope in romance novels, look no further. Tessa Bailey's new novel, "Hook, Line, and Sinker" is the perfect follow-up novel to the first in the Bellinger sister series. Hannah and Fox's story is first alluded to there, setting the stage for this terrific contemporary romance. Make no mistake, this can be read as a standalone, but reading "It Happened One Summer" gives some insight into Hannah's relationship with her sister and with Fox Thornton.

Fox has a reputation for being a player, but he and Hannah have connected in a way he has never connected with a woman before. Hannah sees right past his player reputation through to the 'real' Fox that everyone around him seems to consistently overlook. Hannah's back in town for work, and staying with Fox in his apartment. Initially he seeks to help her catch the eye of her long time crush. Slowly as they get to know each other better, and let their respective guards down, both expose their vulnerability and let the truth of their relationship come through. Hannah and Fox have great chemistry which make this novel an easy read.

Another great contemporary romance by Tessa Bailey. Starts out as a somewhat slow burn, but for those who like a steamy romance, Bailey delivers! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

We return to Westport for Hannah’s story. She makes music and Fox would love to find his groove with her. Except, he has the reputation of being the good time guy, no commitments. Fox realizes he wants to make beautiful music with Hannah for life, but can it work?
Once again Bailey has made the characters leap of the pages. The heat between Fox and Hannah will scorch readers. The message Fox left to Hannah is one of the best scenes in the book.
I liked the glimpse in the future as well.
Cast your line out for this one and reel it in to read.

I had really high hopes for this friends-to-lovers romance novel, and honestly, it was just fine? I liked our two main characters but I think perhaps since I had not read the first one in this series (It Happened One Summer) I missed some of the early development of their relationship that was needed to be fully invested. It is also a bit of a departure for Tessa Bailey away from like super-sexy times into more like emotional intimacy, which was interesting but not what I was quite looking for, I think. Thank you to Avon nevertheless for providing me with an early copy, however! Hook, Line, and Sinker comes out March 1.

The second Bellinger sisters books is even better than the first! I love Fox and Hannah, they have a lot of chemistry and their journey to self-love and loving each other romantically is so much fun, I love Fox's angst and his backstory is great, it really fleshes him out and makes him a guy worth rooting for. Hannah had a great arc too, I loved that she started to connect to people and stopped keeping herself aloof. Such a great one, will totally reread!

Thanks NetGalley for the eARC.
Tessa Bailey is an expert at crafting engaging, tension building romantic stories. Hook, Line, and Sinker is no exception. Hannah and Fox are well fleshed out characters with their own baggage to work through and the tension between them is well crafted. Fox's narrative about himself was so great as was Hannah's journey with her emotions about her father, it might make you want to go back to reread the first book through this lens! No surprises here, if you enjoyed It Happened One Summer you'll love Hook, Line, and Sinker.

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hannah and Fox made me smile nonstop. I definitely recommend reading It Happened One Summer first. Knowing their dynamic and relationship in that book makes it all the better in this one. They were sweet and messy and scared and in love and that made me love it so much more.

I thought the epilogue was sweet but I may have preferred it to be earlier rather than so many years later. Otherwise, Tessa Bailey does it again!!

This follow-up to It Happened One Summer follows Piper’s sister, Hannah, and Brenden’s best friend, Fox, who began an unlikely friendship during the previous book. Hannah ends up back in Westport for a few weeks after leaving six months prior and her friendship with Fox is put to the test.

I think I enjoyed the relationship between Hannah and Fox more than Piper and Brenden in the first book. It was definitely different but I always enjoy the friends to lovers trope. I loved all the music references and reading about a character who is so passionate about music. Hannah sees herself as the supporting character in her own life rather than the leading lady and I related to that a lot. There’s a lot of discussion about not letting other people’s expectations of you define you since Fox has had a reputation of being a player almost his entire life. I love that the characters were able to help each other heal and grow, but in a healthy way. This book made me feel all the feelings and I enjoyed the conclusion to the Bellinger sister’s story.

I first fell in love with Hannah and Fox in "It Happened One Summer." I was thrilled when I found out they were getting their own book! Fox is the typical bachelor who is a major ladies man. He is the perfect best friend for the serious Brendan. However, it is clear that he has another side to him. When he meets Hannah and they strike up a deep friendship, his true self starts to show. In "Hook, Line and Sinker" we see Hannah and Fox's transformation from friends to lovers. It's a sweet, hilarious story that has a lot of swoony moments. I highly recommend this book. Tessa Bailey knows how to add witty banter, multi-dimensional characters, exciting plot points and the perfect amount of steam! I loved this book! 5/5 stars!

Tessa Bailey has truly captured my heart for life. I did not want to finish this book because then I’d have to leave Westport and all of its amazing people.

I LOVED IHOS and so I truly couldn’t fathom that I would love this one just as much but I did!!

More Opal, Piper and Brendan but most importantly more HANNAH AND FOX.

The character development and growth is next level and Tessa’s writing is so beautiful. Every sentence is like a love letter to these characters and this world. I found myself just downright giddy most of the time reading this and I just loved it SO SO MUCH. Easily going to be one of my favs for 2022 and we’re only in January.

After loving It Happened One Summer and was super excited to read this book and it did not disappoint, it was such a good reading!

I adore a good friends to lovers and Tessa Bailey nailed on this one and although I am not the biggest fan of dual pov it fit this book so well, Fox and Hannah are amazing characters, I loved how they grew as individuals while falling in love with each other.

I felt a lot of sympathy for Hannah no longer being comfortable with feeling like a supporting actress in her own life and for Fox feeling trapped by his playboy reputation that people can't seem to forget leaving him with no room to change and throughout the book all I wanted to do was give them both a hug.

The way they were able to understand each other without having to say a word and the subtle things Fox did for Hannah before he even accept he liked her was just *chef's kiss* and made me love this even more.

*Thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for an honest review.

BIG THANK YOU to Avon and Harper Voyager, NetGalley and Tessa Bailey for writing this book/series!!!! I was so excited to get this E-Arc and started it immediately.

I thoroughly enjoyed the second book in the Bellinger Sisters. Hook, Line, and Sinker follows Hannah Bellinger and Fox. This is a friends to lover with some fake dating aspects, Hannah is back in Westport to shoot a movie and stays with Fox, they are "just friends" but have been texting one another and connecting through music since she left Westport 6 months prior.

I sometimes have a hard time with Friends to Lovers but Tessa Bailey does a great job AND the characters are just SOO loveable. I would recommend reading It Happened One Summer before Hook, Line, and Sinker because you get a better idea of the town of Westport and an introduction into Hannah and Fox. Hannah and Fox have fabulous banter and a great friendship. I really liked all the characters that Tessa Bailey has created in this series and wish there would be more because the characters are so great and Westport just is described in such a wonderful way, that I wish I could visit.

The Bellinger sisters are at it again in Hook, Line, and Sinker - this time focusing in on Hannah. While Hannah has always seen herself as the supporting actress and never the lead, this storyline follows as she takes the lead in her own life and career. Her platonic friendship with Fox blossoms as they spend time together and he tries to make her longtime crush, also her boss, jealous with his attention. She doesn't want to fall for a guy like him, and he doesn't want his reputation to sully her good name. All of the characters are well written, including the supporting characters, and the chemistry between Fox and Hannah is perfect!

After loving It Happened One Summer, I was beyond excited to read this book. I had a comforting feeling being back in Westport, a small fishing town. This friends to lovers romance was just so wonderful. I felt the chemistry between Hannah and Fox from beginning to end. Their relationship progressed at a natural pace and had me falling in love with them as they fell for each other.

Hannah is a production assistant who is very passionate about music. She is loyal and protective over the people she cares about. Fox is a king crab fisherman. A total ladies man, Hannah is the only one to see the kind of man he truly is.

Both characters really found themselves with the help of each other. Hannah was able to fight for what she believed in, with regards to her career and personal life. I was not expecting the depth to Fox's story. Broke my heart a little bit how he was perceived by himself and others. Hannah was his biggest supporter and never backed down. She pushed Fox to see himself as more than what everybody else expected.

I loved that it was a slow burn romance with banter, angst, and tension. Of course it wouldn't be a Tessa Bailey book without the steam. The epilogue was perfect.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Fox is a certified fuck boy with a masters degree in “professional bachelor”. He graduated from USTD, summa cum frequently. His problem is that he’s a fuckboy with a conscience. He won’t commit to any woman bc his dad was a slut #daddyissues and his college girlfriend broke his heart #getoverit.

Fox wants to change now that he has met Hannah- a cute girl who loves music and acts like she has a phD in psychotherapy. Fox hasn’t had sex for 6 whole months which = reformed. Hannah really mind fucks Fox by putting him in the friend zone. Eventually her brain fuckery is no match for Fox’s professional pleasure penis. PPP wins every time.

Fox is cute and built like a sturgeon (the stallion of the sea), but his “I’m sad bc I’m a reformed man-whore, but nobody takes me seriously” shtick was exhausting. Listen dude, you are a white, attractive, virile, American man. You’re fine. Nobody cares one way or the other if you fuck all the girls or just one. People actually have real problems. If the only cross that you bear in your life is that people make fun of you for getting laid, then you have it good. Stop the internal whiny monologue, tell everyone to eat a bag of dicks, and go live your life. #whiteguyproblems

Hannah is a saint with a heart of gold for sticking with Fox and his “skanky sads”- he clearly makes up for it in the bedroom. For me, all the PPP in the world couldn’t make up for Fox’s pity-party wallowing. Unsubscribe. This book was ok. I liked book 1 of the series much better, personally. If you liked that one, it’s still worth reading this too, but Fox may make you ragey.

Thanks @netgalley and @avonbooks for the ARC.

Smut- 3.2 stars (surprisingly tame dirty talk for a Tessa Bailey book)
Romance- 3.6 stars
Story- 3.8 stars
Reformed man whores wallowing in self pity- negative 82 stars

This book was perfection, and I wish I could read it again for the first time! The few qualms I had with It Happened One Summer were no where to be seen in Hook, Line, and Sinker. It was a perfect balance of hot and moving at the same time. Fox was an incredible romantic interest, and I'd like to formally petition for more Fox content. I'll update with my full review & link when I post on IG, but highly recommend this book to EVERYONE!

I loved this book by Tessa Bailey! I really enjoyed the emphasis on the psychological hold ups in the relationship and the need for emotional stability from each of the characters. Plus it was very sexy.
