Tessa Bailey never disappoints. Hook, Line, and Sinker is the second book in the Bellinger Sisters. This book is about Hannah who loves music. When she returns to the town her sister moved to for work, she is now around Fox constantly. Especially since he offered to let her stay at her place. Since Hannah knows about Fox's lady man ways, she insists that they'll just stay friends, but as time goes on she stops being so sure.
I absolutely loved this book. I had been eagerly waiting for this one after It Happened One Summer and Fox and Hannah's story was definitely worth the wait.

The premise of this sounded good and I keep seeing Tessa Bailey’s books praised and talked about, but I don’t think she’s an author for me. There is too much gender essentialism and cisheteronormativity for me to feel like her worlds are worlds I’m welcome in or could be a part of. I’m glad she had her audience, but I am definitely not that.

It pains me to say this but I just didn’t feel the same as most with this book. I am going to say it was the trope of friends to lovers, but something just didn’t connect with me. Who knows maybe it was expectations if I am being honest. I will definitely be reading Tessa in the future, I will just say this one missed the mark with me.

After reading the first book in this series, I knew I would love the story of Hannah and Fox. They have witty banter that will make you giggle. I also enjoyed the friends to lovers trope. Tessa Bailey knows how to write a steamy rom-com and I highly suggest this book! Make sure to read the first book so you have some background on the characters!!

I absolutely loved this second book with the friends to lovers plot! As soon as I read about them in the first book I knew they would end up together as their chemistry was obvious since then! I love how Hannah encourages Fox to better himself and puts him in his place when needed! And the spice???? Don’t get me started with how hot it was!! Overall this book was romcom perfection and the characters really just dug their way into my soul. Tessa Bailey wrote these messy, imperfect but vulnerable people that I adore! And that epilogue?? I was so emotional seeing their happy ending continuing years later!

this particular installment will speak to anyone who has ever seen themselves as the support, rather than the main character, in their own story, to the people who always have the perfect song for the mood they are in, to those who struggle with imposter syndrome, and to the ones who always believe in those they care about, even when they don't believe in themselves.

It Happened One Summer walked so Hook Line and Sinker could run. I LOVED this book so much, the relationship and chemistry between Hannah and Fox was so sweet and honest and from that first text message I was hooked. It was refreshing seeing the alpha man full of insecurities instead of being the savior.

Fox and Hannah, oh how I waited for their story! Definitely an opposites attract romance, the supposed playboy and the good girl seem like they’d have nothing in common. But these two just get each other, now if Fox can just believe he deserves the girl. I loved this story, love the dynamic. Tessa Bailey created such a delightful world in this sleepy fishing village. This one is fun and sweet and just all the things.

I loved all the music in this one. Also, the character growth with Fox! He was for sure the heart of this book.

Yet another gem by Tessa Bailey! I am not normally a fan of sequels, but I actually enjoyed this one more than book one. I think the inclusion of music to tell the story of the budding romance was genius, and the spice… oh the spice was perfection. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

This is the second book in the Bellinger Sisters series and it tells the story of Hannah Bellinger and Fox Thornton. Fox is a king-crab fisherman and the town Casanova. Hannah works for a Hollywood director who she has a crush on and convinces him to move their location to Washington state where her sister Piper lives. While there she stays in her friend, Fox’s guest room and convinces him to help her learn to flirt with her boss.

I don’t know about you, but I already knew where this story was going. Fox was quickly falling for his good friend and did not enjoy helping her reel in another man. Of course, as the story progresses Hannah begins to wrestle with her feelings for her difficult boss and her best friend Fox who is perfect in every way.

This was a quick, easy read and I gave it three stars. I’ve enjoyed Tessa Bailey’s books for quite a while and will continue to do so. I thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This world will never stop being a draw for me.
I loved Piper and Brendan's book and loved this one just as much.

Friends to lovers, secret pining is a heady combination and Tessa nailed it.

The friends to lover trope was definitely believable, but I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the two leads. However, Bailey’s writing really pulled the story through.

Hook, Line and Sinker is the second book in the Bellinger Sisters series. This book is about crab fisherman Fox Thornton and Hannah Bellinger. This book is told from dual points of view.

Fox has feelings for Hannah, but she wants to be just friends. When she is back in town they end up being roommates. He agrees to help her in her dating game.

Can they stay friends? Or will sparks start to fly? Will he eventually tell her his feelings? Or will he help her find a happy ever after with someone else?

I enjoyed this book, but not sure if I would read it again.

Genre: Contemporary Romance

4.25🌟 - I enjoyed it!

After loving IHOS, I was so excited to jump back into the Bellinger sister’s world! I loved Hannah and Fox in the first book and anticipated loving this one too!

I love a friends-to-lovers and thought there were a lot of really sweet and swoon-worthy moments between them, while still maintaining that signature spice that Tessa Bailey always delivers! I love her witty banter and how funny she makes all her books!

Overall I feel like the growth wasn’t as dynamic for Fox and Hannah compared to Piper and Brendan, but I still really enjoyed their relationship.

The epilogue for this one was just perfect ❤️‍🩹.

This was an excellent second book for the It Happened One Summer Series. I was unsure how Tessa Bailey would live up to the It Happened One Summer expectations but she did! The characters were likable and it was such a fun book to read. Perfect for any season and any reader!

I wish that there was more of a slow-burn friends to lovers romance, however it was a bit too insta-love for my tastes. There wasn't as much build-up as I would have hoped for, especially when it came to the sexual tension. You could tell instantly from the very beginning that Fox was completely in love with Hannah from the first few pages. There were also fluctuations in their relationship status that got annoying at times. However, I suppose it's more of a personal preference thing.

There were times where this book got repetitive, but I still thought that it was a cute read. The text messages between them and banter was entertaining.

I adored the first book in this series and was so happy when Hannah and Fox got their own book! There's a good amount of banter and some steam. The setting of the story is so well described and makes me so nostalgic for Alaska. I think this would be a great adaptation for a film. The player gone soft for the shy girl next door type is a trope I really enjoyed.

I adored Hook, Line and Sinker. It was the perfect follow up to It Happened One Summer. I loved Fox and Hannah’s dynamic. Hannah and Fox’s story was charming, steamy and rich with character development. Tessa Bailey rarely (if ever) misses.

Thank you Avon and Netgalley for the ARC!!
