I absolutely love Tessa Bailey. She is one of those authors that no matter what I will absolutely pick the book up.
I thought the beginning of this book was just adorable. then we reach the middle of the book, and I feel like it kind of lost some steam for me. To be fair, I always think I'm going to love the friends-to-lovers trope so much more than I actually do. I do love it more than Enemy's to lovers though. This story was a bit less steamy than Tessa Bailey's normal books.
Loved this one!! Not as good as book one, but I'll read anything Tessa Bailey writes lol. Very sweet and fun, and I like this couple a lot.
Sorry another DNF for me. I think this was a cheesy and not greatly written story. The characters are unlikeable and you can tell al this with the first 100 pages
Tessa Bailey did it again! this book is soooo good! definitely recommend it if you like to read romance! 10/10
Reading this sweet rom-com reminded me of 'The French Kiss' and 'My Best Friend's Wedding'.
Thank you #NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for giving me the opportunity to read this.
4.5 stars
It got old very fast how badly they all think of Fox. He lets them yes, it’s insecurity and uncertainty he’s hiding behind, but wow don’t have a great opinion of people based on how they treat a grown man.
But very good character growth and ending.
I liked this one much better than the first one. The plot was cute and I loved the characters. Great summer read.
YESSSSS
I've been waiting for Hannah and Fox to get their chance and Tessa did NOT disappoint. I loved that we saw their long-distance start unfold over text and loved the way that they were with each other. Fox wants to be worthy of Hannah, but knows that his playboy reputation is going to stand between them. That said, he tries. He tries in the most wonderful and sweet and quiet ways and doesn't let anyone know what he's doing. As Hannah realises that the crush she has on the director of the film she's working on might just be a passing infatuation, she realises that the perfect guy is right there. (And don't get me started on the foreplay of this one!)
And! This one has a delightful epilogue that really just warmed my heart. Another slam dunk by Tessa Bailey.
I love Tessa Bailey, and this book definitely didn't disappoint. As much as I loved It Happened One Summer, this book was even more fun. Once again, Bailey delivered a spicy, funny, enjoyable read that I won't soon forget. Friends of romance will want to read this title for sure.
PERFECTION! I absolutely loved reading Fox and Hannah's story. The angsty romance and chemistry between the characters was excellent. I also loved watching Fox's character develop and grow, and how Hannah supported him along the way. Such a great follow up to It Happened One Summer!
Note, this is the second book in the series, but works as a stand alone. A great book to check out if you love romance and steam and romcoms.

I absolutely loved this. It took me some time to read this but once I got back into it, I flew through it. I really enjoyed Hannah as a character, I could really relate to her. Fox was hot but I struggled a little bit with his character. One thing I love about Tessa Bailey's writing is that it is so easy to fly through. I'm a sucker for friends to lovers and this had me in my feels. The pining is this book I LOVED! I liked reading from both Hannah and Fox's points of view, it made me feel more connected to each other them. I really fell in love with Hannah, I just adore and understand her. This is so close to 5 stars but I felt that the pacing kinda dragged at some points. Overall, I had a great time reading this!
I adored “It Happened One Summer” and I had high hopes for “Hook, Line and Sinker” too. It was a fun read, but didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The relationship between Fox and Hannah seemed to drag on and I never felt invested in the outcome. I might have liked it more as a standalone book but compared to IHOS, I just didn’t love it.
Tessa Bailey is always a go to for my own personal reading. Fox is my absolute favorite! I loved returning to this charming fishing village.
You know, friends to lovers books are always a hit or miss for me, but Hook Line and Sinker was perfection 👌
Both Hannah and Fox were so relatable and I loved seeing them show their vulnerable sides to each other. Hannah has always felt like the supporting character in her life and Fox is a playboy, but what hides beneath the surface are a lot of insecurities. Actually, he's so sweet. I'm glad he wasn't written as an asshole playboy character(like the ones in those books released during 2015 or so), because I'd have hated him. The text exchanges between them and the slow-burn later as they begin to live together were my favorite parts! The mutual pining on both sides 😍
They really help each other out as Hannah becomes more confident and in turn she lets him know that he's fine the way he is. I loved IHOS but I think I loved this one even more!
If you haven't already read these books, then I hope you pick them up soon! Tessa Bailey has always been a fave of mine!❣️✨
I didn’t love this one quite as much as the first, but that’s only a little less.
Tessa Bailey’s writing gets better with each book I read, and I loved that there was so much good COMMUNICATION in this book. The conversations between the leads. Perfect. Who knew that the older I get the more excellent communication rather than misleading conversations or deliberate evasion would be so attractive. Does she think you're going on a date instead of meeting your mother? I'll tell her and correct the assumption before it becomes a thing. So. freaking. attractive.
Save me from angst that could have been alleviated by a simple conversation forever.
I loved every second of this book. In fact, I think this might be my favorite Tessa Bailey book I've read so far, which is saying a lot because I am a huge fan of her work in general. But Fox and Hannah... they really wormed their way into my heart. This book sucked me in, helped pull me out a reading slump, and had me overall just vibrating with emotion.
The EMOTION in this book. Tessa is well known for her humor and her incredibly hot sex scenes, but my favorite parts of this book were the really emotional bits. I love to watch a rakish playboy who doesn't think he deserves love/can love get knocked on his ass by his feelings. I can read that all day, every day, it's just so satisfying, and Tessa is doing that here with Fox perfectly. The pining in this book! The way he goes celibate even while they're just texting for months and not even seeing each other. Buying the record player that he hides away in the cabinet so she doesn't see and guess his feelings! The jealousy over seeing Sergei flirt with her. *Chef's kiss!*
And let's not forget one of the most perfect lines I have ever read in a romance, when Fox tells Hannah "your body haunts mine." You know what haunts me? That line!
Anyways, I'm leaving this review really late, I don't know why I didn't read this back at the beginning of the year, I guess it just wasn't the right time, but I'm glad I have now. I'm sure most romance readers have now read this book, but if I find one who hasn't I will definitely be pushing this on them.
Gahhhh this book! I think I’m with the majority on this when I say I loved this so so much more than Fox & Pipers story. The chemistry, the smut, the love… gahhhh just perfect.
The only negative about this book is that it's the last in this duology. 😭😭😭 Seriously I love all of her series, but there was just something magical about this one. This book resonated with me and made me feel seen. It was a sweet and charming romance with great character growth and mutual understanding. Congrats to Bailey for writing a great ending to this wonderful series.
I loved this sequel to It Happened One Summer! Fox and Hannah's story is so heartfelt, with complex characters and a well-developed plot. It was such a magical experience watching their friendship turn into love!
