While I didn't love this one as much as the first book, it was still a classic Tessa Bailey full of steam, romance and a couple I could help but fall in love with. I loved the friends to lovers trope and even the slow burn although I found it got a bit repetitive after a while. I'd recommend this to lovers of slow burns, forced proximity and friends to lovers.

Hannah loves music. She loves being behind the scenes of movie sets adding the background music to make the movie a hit. When given the opportunity to move a movie set to a small fishing town, Hannah doesn't realize how much more is in this town. She's been texting with a fisherman from the town and ends up having to stay with him. Can she keep their relationship in the friend zone? He's known as a player. He's her sister's husband's best friend.

This book was the perfect laugh out loud rom-com. It brings to unlikely people together for the better. I'll be sure to read the 1st in this series too! #BellingerSisters #HookLineandSinker #NetGalley #TessaBailey

I read IT HAPPENED ONE SUMMER and was so happy to have requested (and been accepted) an eARC on Netgalley for HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER because I immediately wanted to dive into Hannah and Fox's story. While I LOVED Piper and Brenden's story, Hannah and Fox were the characters I was immediately drawn to and I think a lot of readers would relate and will be so excited to get their hands on this book.

Again, I came in already PUMPED for these characters and this book made me love them even more. Especially getting Fox's POV and the contrast between being in his head versus seeing him through Brenden's POV. I really enjoyed seeing the comparison and the difference between who he is and how he is perceived - seriously, well done Tessa! And Hannah is always just this lady cinnamon roll - I loved seeing her come out of her shell more and her friendship with Fox. Although, at NO point in this book did I feel like they were actually platonic friends and honestly wish we got a little more of that because I feel like they deserved that on top of their HEA, too.

The only thing that really brought it down for me was that the "hurdles for their relationship" felt too repetitive. I feel like we went through the same character development multiple times where I would have liked to have seen it resolved sooner or perhaps other conflicts for them to have gone through on their journey from friends to lovers. That said, I loved both of their developments and their individual storylines.

I think anyone who enjoyed IT HAPPENED ONE SUMMER will not be disappointed to return to Westpoint and our favorite king crab fishing boat for this one!

After liking the previous book in this set, Hook, Line, and Sinker was something of a letdown. The story has good bones— Hannah is a strong character and the plot is decent. However, I think the story would have been strengthened by utilizing the community and the movie folks more and spending less time in Hannah’s and Fox’s heads. Tessa Bailey does a really nice job with supporting characters. I’d like to have horrendous to know some of them a little better.

Tessa Bailey never fails to write books full of humor, heart and heat and Hook, Line and Sinker is no exception!

I got approved to read an ARC of Hook, Line, and Sinker- the sequel to It Happened One Summer which follows Piper’s younger sister Hannah. Hannah sees the world through music and hopes to become a soundtrack music composer. While staying with Piper last summer she starts a friendship with Fox Thornton. who has a reputation of being a ladies’ man and so he and Hannah cannot date. However, there's an undeniable attraction between the two as they strike up a texting relationship while Hannah is in LA. Through a turn of events, the movie Hannah is working on will be filmed in Westport, but she can't stay at her sister's since her in-l.aws are in town so Hannah is offered a place at Fox's apartment, Can Hannah and Fox remain friends while her work bring her to town? Or will their close proximity as roommates while she’s there drive them to find more than music to bond over?

Noteworthy: A slow burn romance in the beginning, but picks up mid book. Also, one of the spicest scenes in self-love I've ever read!!! Definitely as spicy as IHOS!

I read this one in less than 24 hours. Not usually one for romance, but I picked up the first bellinger sister novel on a whim and had to get more.

I absolutely adored this read. I thought I read It Happened One Summer fast, but this one I could not put down! I think I’m becoming a big fan of friends to lovers. Fox was just such a sad lovable character that had me rooting for him hard to overcome the his challenges. Hannah was such a fun character to go from the background/sidekick to the leading lady of her life. These characters definitely learned their worth in this journey. I loved seeing the old characters and being back in our fav small town Westport. There was such fun banter, so many great scenes between Fox and Hannah, and even Hannah and her Grandma. I loved the whole story. I can’t wait to see what Tessa Bailey puts out next!!

An almost tooth-achingly sweet end to the Bellinger sisters duet, and a 3.5 star read rounded up to 4.

This book will really speak to anyone who's ever felt comfortable being overshadowed by the people around them, who was more engaged with the ease of their daydreams than trying to make them a reality, or who carries the weight of a characterization given to them too early in life to be true.

It's slow-burn, and incredibly low-heat for Tessa -- she's often someone whose cartoon covers mislead people into believing her books are not as spicy as they are, so if you're looking for a book to ease someone into Baileydom, this is it.

HL&S is cozy and lovely, but lacked some of the oomph her other books do, both in the spice (ahem) and emotional categories. Honestly, though: You can't go wrong with Tessa Bailey.

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC!

This is the second book in a series. I liked the first book, "It Happened One Summer"- I gave it 4 stars. I liked this second book even better, though. "Hook Line and Sinker" just has more developed characters and a more intricate plot.

Our hero Fox has always been a player when it comes to women, and while he has genuine feelings for Hannah, he doesn't know if he's capable of "manning up" the way Hannah deserves. Hannah has always been a "supporting character", a giver who loves and helps the people around her- but she can only do so much on her own. I appreciated that the author didn't manufacture silly plot points to keep the characters apart, instead she helped them grow.

My thanks to the author, publisher, and #NetGalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book.

YOU SIMPLY MUST READ THIS!!
This book gave me everything I needed it had amazing characters, a bit of spice, and a tantalizing slow burn romance that will surely ‘hook’ you from the first line.
I’ve been on a bit of a Tessa Bailey kick recently (I’ve read 5 of her books in the past week) and it was the craziest coincidence that I read “It Happened One Summer” and the next day I found out I got an ARC of “Hook Line And Sinker”.
If you are a fan of romance you’re sure to fall in love with this book just like I have, be sure to nab a copy of this when it comes out. I promise you it’ll be the worth every penny.
I also loved how it built off of the first book so beautifully, every character, place and, action, was purposeful and true to the characters we fell in love with in the first book.
OH AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE EPILOGUE !!!

Gah this series has my heart. I love the small fishing town of Westport and I loved how we got to see Hannah's story play out. I will say I didn't love the romance between Hannah and Fox as much as I loved Piper and Brenden. I just felt the chemistry wasn't quite there. It was super sweet and I loved how Hannah loves music and how Fox had to really discover himself.
I would gladly take more books in this series as I love this town and love the Bellinger sisters.

I loved Hannah and Fox's story. I thought the dynamic between them and the clear attraction was really entertaining as they tried to fight their feelings for each other. Overall a very lovely rom-com and I loved seeing Piper and Brendan again.

The second book in The Bellinger Sisters became my favorite. Hannah met heartbreaker Fox the summer prior when she & her sister Piper are sent to Westport, Washington and end up renovating a bar that was their fathers. Their mother left the small town after their fisherman father died while the girls were young, They end up renovating it and Piper falls for a local fisherman and ends up staying in Book 1.
Hannah goes back to LA and works in the movie industry. Her & Fox trade texts back and forth until she returns to Westport when she suggests the town as the perfect location on the latest movie she is working on.
I loved the friends first story & slow burn romance between Hannah & Fox. Hannah is a strong female character that has to work hard at seeing her potential for the lead. I loved her support & guidance she provides to Fox that allows him to grow & leave the womanizing ways behind because he does deserve more. Ohhh the Steam! You will not be disappointed with this romcom book!

Thank you NetGalley for this book in exchange for my honest review.

A wonderful second book to close out the duology of the Bellinger Sisters! The first book drew me in a bit faster, but I was still very invested in Fox and Hannah's story. I loved learning more about them, and it had me going back to reread "It Happened One Summer" so I could stay in Westport and with these characters. "Hook, Line, and Sinker" offered more depth into Hannah's story and character that was wonderful to learn.

Thank you endlessly to Avon Books and NetGalley for an advance copy in exchange for this honest review! I was so excited!

Fox, perpetual bachelor, finds himself unable to get eccentric indie music loving, Hannah, out of his mind.

After Hannah heads back to LA for work, the two continue to communicate daily via text. When her work on a film brings her back to Westport, the two find their connection growing.

Their friendship, banter, and off the charts chemistry has Fox questioning whether or not he can be the man Hannah deserves.

If you love love, then you will love Fox and Hannah. Friends to lovers? Forced proximity? Intense chemistry? Yes, please!

I read the first book It Happened One Summer and fell head over heels in love, so to be given an arc for Hook, Line, and Sinker.. let’s just say my year was made.

This is Fox and Hannah’s story and I don’t want to give much away but WOW. With Fox’s reputation in the first book you would think it would be hot and heavy, and while it has amazing moments of that, the character development with both Fox and Hannah 👩🏻‍🍳💋🤌🏼 *chefs kiss*

This book is everything. Must read!
Will do another review once released with more details but I’ll leave you with a quote until then:

“I’ve never even had you, and your body haunts mine.”

And I swoon 🥰

Tessa Bailey does it again. Hook, Line, and Sinker brings us back to the small fishing town of Westport, Washington. I realized by reading the way our main character, Hannah Bellinger, missed Westport, that I missed it too. After reading It Happened One Summer, I was very excited to see Fox and Hannah's love story play out. It was heartwrenching, loving, and hilarious. I loved seeing the comfort they took in their friendship and watching it become more. Hannah's character growth was inspirational and Tessa Bailey's writing made me feel like I knew Hannah so well, I couldn't help but feel proud of her. The same goes for Fox's character growth as well. I wanted to take him by the shoulders and yell, "YOU DESERVE LOVE AND HAPPINESS!!" The steaminess was great, which isn't a surprise, but there was one scene that was a little off-putting. Fox tells Hannah he can "talk her into it" while they were in the middle of one of their first intimate moments together. I definitely didn't appreciate that part, even if it was a tactic of self-sabotage. A solid 4-star rating, I wish we were getting more stories from their world. I'll miss the characters and Westport, but the epilogue gave me the closure I needed.

Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC of the book!

After reading “It Happened One Summer”, I didn’t think it was possible for Tessa Bailey to top herself with a second love story in Westport. Boy was I wrong: I ADORED EVERYTHING about Hook, Line, and Sinker from start to finish. Have you ever had a book just make your heart soar and swoon because of all the emotional work that the characters do? This book is it!
In It Happened One Summer, we get a glimpse of the beginning relationship between aptly named Fox Thornton and Hannah Bellinger. “Peacock” and “Freckles” form an unlikely friendship of opposites attract that begins with finding amusement in one another’s drastically different personalities. Hannah is the cute Converse wearing kid-sister always to be found with a humongous pair of headphones around her neck with a playlist for every mood, whereas Fox is known as a ladies man, only interested in one thing, and that certainly isn’t a relationship. Being friendly with his best friend’s girlfriend’s sister isn’t exactly at the top of Fox’s to-do list. But one Fleetwood Mac album later finds Fox and Hannah enjoying an unlikely friendship spanned by 7 months of learning about each other through texts and musical tastes. This is where Hook, Line, and Sinker begins. Living states apart, Hannah and Fox have never had time together, but after a set relocation for Hannah’s film job to Westport, Washington, they find themselves sharing an apartment and being forced to define their friendship.
What makes HLAS so good? —the emotional work that Hannah and Fox have to go through to determine what they mean to themselves and each other. In romances it is unusual for slut-shaming to be directed at a male, and Tessa Bailey has so adequately and thoroughly delivered the emotional toll this could take on a hero. Fox’s leather bracelet, his mother’s winces, the cat-calls from the townspeople and sailors have all given him his identity that he so fully believes is his truth. But geez do I love a vulnerable male and to see Fox transform from Sex on a Stick to a man of depth, passion, and ache are enough to win this book over for me. Hannah is the salve to Fox’s insecurities. She gently coaxes him into putting in the WORK at finding his true value.
At its core, Hook, Line, and Sinker is about faith: faith in believing you are worthy of achieving career goals, faith in knowing that you are enough, just as you are, faith that you are someone worthy of love and someone worthy to give love. And as they say, faith can move mountains. This is no exception for our hero and heroine.
Not only does HLAS emotionally fulfill all romance expectations, but the wanting, desire, and bangxiety are fantastic. Key words: Ginger, Orange massage bottle, THAT KISS in Blow the Man Down, Bingo night—all of these scenes deliver the sweaty 🥵 WHOA factor that I love in a romance. In her author bio, it states that Tessa Bailey desires to write “hot and unforgettable character-driven romance”and she has certainly achieved that in HLAS. I can not say enough about how well written, this book is and how capable Tessa Bailey is at delivering romance that exceeded my expectations on every level. Go read it now!

I was provided an ARC of Hook, Line, and Sinker from NetGalley and Harper Collins Publishers in exchange for an honest review. The opinions provided are of my own.
