Count Your Lucky Stars is a satisfying conclusion to Bellefleur’s series. The book has everything a good queer romance wants - evolving childhood relationships, compelling history, miscommunication, pining, and solid banter. Definitely a must read for those who enjoyed the previous two books.

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC.

🌟🌟🌟🌟 4/5 stars

Count Your Lucky Stars is the third in the Written in the Stars series and follows Margot as she finally finds love. Margot and Olivia were childhood friends turned lovers until they broke each other’s hearts. Ten years later, fate brings them back together as Olivia is the wedding planner for Brendon and Annie’s (from the 2nd book) wedding. Now Margot and Olivia have to see if history will repeat itself or if they can finally get their happily ever after.

I love Bellefleur’s characters and Olivia is another great addition. Margot and Liv had great chemistry (and there are some seriously 🔥 scenes) and I loved their friends to lovers vibe. Characters from the previous books have many scenes and I enjoyed seeing them again and reading their banter together. Margot has been a favorite throughout the series, so I’m glad we finally get her story. It is full of angst, humor, and steam. I cannot wait to see what Bellefleur writes next.

ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Full review to be posted closer to release date.

Thank you Netgalley and Avon for an arc of Count Your Lucky Stars in exchange for an honest review. I'm so sad to see this series come to an end. I've loved all three books and all of the characters. I loved seeing some of their storylines get wrapped up and was so excited for Margot's story. I especially loved seeing Annie and Brendon's wedding and seeing Elle and Darcy get engaged. I loved that Olivia and Margot got a second chance. There were so many funny sweet moments. I liked how they communicated and worked things out even when they ran into issues. Bellefleur writes such beautiful, funny, sweet and steamy books. I can't wait for even more books from her.

I will update with the link when I share on my bookstagram account.

Margot Cooper doesn't do relationships - she's tried, they've failed, so she sticks to casual hookups and that works just fine for her. But now her entire friend group has found their person, and she's starting to feel them slowly slip away. When touring a wedding venue for a last-minute change, the unexpected happens - she locks eyes with Olivia Grant, her first love, her first everything. Olivia wanted to start fresh after a divorce, and becoming a wedding planner in Seattle sounded like the perfect plan. She never thought she'd Margot again, it's been over a decade since they last spoke, and never imagined she'd be her new client's Best Woman. When unexpected circumstances leave Olivia without a place to stay, and Margot needing to find a roommate, things may be falling right back into place. Will history repeat itself or will both be thanking their lucky stars that they get another chance at first love?

The fact that I was able to finish this book all in one day should tell you everything you need to know regarding my enjoyment. I will most likely reread when I receive my finished copy, which I have preordered, just so I can savor each and every moment. Margot and Olivia both fondly remember the week they spent together senior year of high school, but both have very different ideas of why it ended, which has caused a decade of wondering what could have been. The attraction is certainly still there, and once they allow themselves to give in to that attraction, their passion is almost explosive (I'm not sure if this book is more steamy than the other two or I was just more aware/my tastes regarding those scenes have changed, but it was incredibly well done). Towards the beginning of the book, Margot is feeling quite left out as the single one in her friend group, and she feels bad for feeling bad - she is so happy for her friends that they've finally found love, but is afraid that they will leave her behind and start to do "couple-themed" things. I can relate to Margot's feeling to an extent - I'm at a point in my life where almost everyone I know seems to be settling down, finding a partner, starting a family, etc. And while I am so happy that they've found someone to spend the rest of their lives with, I definitely feel a bit left out at times, as that doesn't seem like the path that I will follow. I also appreciated Olivia's storyline - understanding what she wants from a relationship and leaving, even after years, if she feels her wants and needs are no longer compatible with her partner's. It wasn't easy, and it took a lot of strength, but she chose happiness and knew she put herself first.

I also want to touch on the topic of trust, because it becomes an important part of the third-act conflict. Margot and Olivia had a misunderstanding about what their week together meant for either of them, and, in order to preserve their friendship, both go on as if nothing happened. And then Olivia left, away to another college with her boyfriend, Brad, leaving Margot without her best friend and confused as to why Olivia didn't feel the same. Then Margot's friend all find partners, get engaged, and it slowly starts to feel like they're slipping away. When Olivia finds her way back, pieces start to fit together again, until news from her ex-husband gets Olivia packing her bags and heading home for the night. Margot gets scared, and both her and Olivia need to learn to trust, and let each other know they will keep showing up and can be a shoulder to lean on when necessary. Margot realizes that communication seems easy in media, but talking to your partner, and sometimes saying things you know they need to hear, isn't always a walk in the park. But relationships are built on trust, and knowing there is someone you can always rely on.

And with that [I believe] the Written in the Stars series has come to an end. I have enjoyed all the time I have spent with these characters - learning their quirks, seeing their struggles, and watching them succeed in life and in love. While I'm sad to see the series end, I can't wait to read whatever Alexandria Bellefleur has in store for her readers next. *Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher, Avon, for the e-copy, all thoughts and opinions are my own.*

COUNT YOUR LUCKY STARS was one of my most anticipated reads of 2022, and it exceeded all of my expectations! Alexandria Bellefleur has crafted a perfect, incredibly steamy, sapphic, second-chance romance that wraps up the Written in the Stars series wonderfully. Margot and Olivia were charming and easy to root for as the plot pushed them closer together, and getting to see all of the characters from the previous novel in one place was the cherry on top.

The perfect fun and sassy romance read about two ladies! At first I was a little unsure, but this story turned out great! First and foremost - it doesn’t have any weird stereotypes and being gay is a non issue here. I’d say it’s a femme/ futch dynamic which is particularly favorable and the pair seems very well matched- their chemistry was great! The sex scenes were a little cringey, I’m not a prude but they were a little too Cinemax after midnight for me. The overall vibe of all the characters is just really natural and effortless. There are funny moments, intense moments, and even some serious stuff going on, but it all feels very relatable.
And the ending… romantic but not cheesy! Solid 10/10 for lesbian day!

I have never read any of Alexandria Bellefleur's books (shocker I know). But when I both got this as an ARC and also heard that these can be read as standalones, I figured I would give it a shot. And BOY was I in love with this book.

Olivia is offered the chance to be the last minute wedding planner for Brendon and his fiancé Annie after a mishap that destroys their former venue. The last thing she expected was her ex friend and fling Margot to be friends of the bride and groom. Now Olivia has to navigate not only the perfect wedding, but her growing feelings for Margot. Will everything go off with a hitch, or will it be an absolute disaster?

Where do I start with this masterpiece of a book? The characters I absolutely love. I related to both Olivia and Margot in completely different ways. Olivia is a lot like me in that we both overthink and have anxiety attacks about things we don't know about. This was reflected a lot in her inner dialogues but also dialogues with other characters, and I felt myself really panicking with her. Meanwhile, I related a lot to Margot because of her struggle with abandonment and the constant feeling of being left out and that her friends will leave her. I have a massive fear of missing out, so I think Margot's portrayals of it was pretty accurate.

Not only that, but Olivia and Margot, after rushing through the rough patch, actually have a pretty healthy relationship? There is a struggle at the beginning with miscommunication and I was so scared it would fall into that trope with them having to confess their emotions. But it went SO MUCH BETTER and I'm so glad that it didn't. The story took a lot of good turns and I really love what Bellefleur did with them. It really fleshed out the characters and also didn't make this a heavily cliché story as a result.

Some of the other characters I feel had much minor roles, such as Darcy and Annie, and I know that they are in the other books but I wish we saw a bit more of them in the story. I did love Elle's role as close friend to Margot throughout the story and think she was a pretty good character. I wasn't too much of a fan of Brendon however, but that's probably because his personality is just big in comparison to the others. Maybe if I read the other books I may come to like him a bit more.

Count Your Lucky Stars is a romantic, queer and adorable story that you can easily read in a day. This story warmed my gay little heart, and will make you want to have an Olivia or Margot in your life, because I sure as hell do.

I received a copy of this book as an e-ARC from NetGalley. Any and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. Count Your Lucky Stars uses some of my favorite tropes (opposites attract, they were roommates, etc) and I put my whole life on pause to read it.
Margot and Olivia are former friends. Former best friends who, in a case of classis miscommunication, had a bit of a thing in high school that they accidentally let slip away. After eleven years they're thrust back together when Olivia's event planning firm picks up a high stakes wedding, and Margot is the groom's best friend.
If that weren't enough, an unfortunate incident leaves Olivia in need of a new apartment and Margot just so happens to have a spare bedroom.
It's a charming book, full of fun characters and a decent amount of spice.

Former childhood besties Margot and Olivia get a second chance at romance when, after 11 years of pretending the other didn’t exist, they are forced to face each other as Olivia is the wedding planner for Margot’s best friends’ wedding. The two are clearly hung up on their pasts and each other but refuse to just talk things out. So they awkwardly dance around the issue, while Margot’s friends try to figure out what exactly is up with them.

I will admit that I did not realize this was a series and this is the last book. Oopsie!

I’m thinking that might have something to do with why I couldn’t really connect to the characters.
Queer, Second Chance Romance + Grumpy-Sunshine tropes… What’s not to love, right?

Ummmm….. I’m not really sure what happened here?
The writing was well done, tons of witty banter, the set-up was great.

But I just COULD NOT get into this book.

The characters felt flat to me (could be because I did not read previous books) and the plot seemed rushed at the end. It was like the plot fell to the wayside once Olivia and Margot started hooking up. The focus shifted to the couple and I was pretty meh about them.

For example, If Olivia has so much riding on her job being perfectly done, why was it only focused on at the beginning and end of the book. When her job was back in focus at the end of the story, all of the potential disasters were crammed into a few pages and the resolution took place with even fewer pages.

Side Note: I thought Margot’s job was awesome and would’ve loved more mentions of it (maybe this was done in a previous book).

Overall, this wasn’t bad at all, I just wasn’t feeling it.
I do plan on reading the other books in the series to see if that changes things!

Check it out, when it hits shelves, 2/1/22!

A big thanks to the Publisher & NetGalley for gifting me a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This open door (WAY open door) romance was not for me.

Margot and Olivia were best friends growing up and for one week, more. They reunite after many years apart (and after Olivia's divorce from her loser high school boyfriend) when Olivia is hired to be the wedding planner in which Margot is the best man.

That's about all the plot there was in this very, very spicy book. I can read some sex scenes but that's basically all this book was. I need some plot and character development and that was not here. The characters kept making stupid choices and I was sighing in frustration the whole time I was reading this. Unfortunately, this was not a book I'd recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley for the advance copy for review.

Count Your Lucky Stars is the third and final installment of the Written in the Stars series, focusing on Margot, the best friend of the previous two books, as she navigates the reunion with her high school friend, and crush, Olivia.

Sadly, this is my least favorite of the trilogy. I love Bellefleur's writing so much, but Margot and Olivia fell kind of flat for me after the first 25% or so. I couldn't connect with them in the way I've connected with her previous characters, which was exemplified for me when we got to see the two previous couples interacting. I wish we had gotten to see a bit more character development, because what we did see was slightly rushed near the end.

I don't think there's anything wrong with this book, and I would definitely recommend it to people who read/enjoyed Written in the Stars and Hang the Moon, but it was a slight disappointment for me.

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for an early review copy of this book!

- Alert! Queer second chance friends to lovers! What a joy this addition to an already wonderful series is. Bellefleur is excellent and creating a gentle environment but still having electric energy between her characters.
- And whew, is this book spicy! I was beginning to fear that all mainstream F/F romances were going to forever have only one or two brief love scenes. Enter COUNT YOUR LUCKY STARS, where Margot and Olivia hit the ground running and never stop.
- I do love a "these dummies need to admit they're in love" story, though this one may verge too much on "just have a conversation already" territory for some. Thank goodness they have friends to help them out (all beloved characters from the previous books)!

Alexandria Bellefleur has rapidly become a new favorite author of mine, and this book only helped to propel her forward. WOW, this book was fantastic! I absolutely adored this second chance Romance and seeing Margot lose her head as she fell for Olivia all over again. I loved the inclusion of all the past characters from Written in the Stars and Hang The Moon, and essentially just basking in all of my favorite characters' happily ever afters. It was nothing short of a glorious experience.

Also, this was an incredibly horny book and I was here for every second! I was so pleasantly surprised that the first sex scene came 30% in, and the dirty talk was 10/10. I also just loved the progression of their relationship in general, and how affectionate Margot and Olivia were to each other. God, I love this book so much.

While I'm sad this series is over, I also can't wait to read everything Alexandria Bellelfeur comes out with in the future! I know she's an author who will only continue to get better and better!

Oh my Gosh, this story!!! I have always been picky and on the fence about second chance romances, as oftentimes I am of the firm opinion that what one of the characters did isn't necessarily worth a second chance. However, Alexandria Bellefleur may have just converted me!

For fans of this series, Margot getting her HEA is probably long overdue (despite this being only the third book in the series). She is just as snarky and loyal as ever, but is thrown for a loop when the new wedding planner for Annie and Brendon's (yay!) wedding walks in and is her former best friend, Olivia. Margot and Olivia were inseparable growing up, until one week that changed their relationship forever. It's been eleven years since they saw each other, and they definitely have a lot of unresolved feelings. Throw in some semi-forced proximity and their relationship heats back up -- and it is HOT.

I really loved the job the author did with developing these characters. Margot is still her sassy self while showing some vulnerability, and I very much identified with her. All of her closest friends are pairing up before her eyes, and she's worried about being left behind and not being needed anymore. Olivia has always been selfless and caring of others -- sometimes at her own expense. Watching them grow together was a delightful treat!

Not sure where exactly to rate this one. I keep wavering somewhere between 4.25 and 4.75 stars, so let's call it a 4.5! I can't wait for everyone else to be able to enjoy the latest installment in this series, and I can't wait for what Bellefleur comes up with next.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. This review is my honest thoughts and my thoughts only.

Count Your Lucky Stars is a sapphic second chance novel about high school friends/lovers Margot Cooper and Olivia Grant who meet again when Olivia is hired to be the wedding planner for Margot's friend's wedding. When Olivia is in need of a place to live ASAP, Margot has a room available and they become roommates. In their close proximity, their friendship from years before is reignited, leading them to rediscover romantic feelings the both have lingering under the surface.

This is the second book in the series from Alexandria Bellefleur I've read. You can easily read them out of order, but you will have items from the other books spoiled if you do. Although I found elements of this book entertaining, such as the encounter between Cat and Margot's vibrator, I found the book overall story kinda meh. While I enjoyed the inclusivity within the story and the series overall, Count Your Lucky Stars didn't have enough drama and momentum in the storyline to keep me wanting to keep reading continuously. I also found it extremely predictable. While it doesn't always bother me with romance novels with this particular novel because could predict elements pretty early on in the story it bothered me quite a bit. I think there are reader out there who will enjoy this novel a lot, but I was not one of them.

We’re back with our fav group of friends for book #3! While this is a standalone, I would recommend reading the others because 1, they’re enjoyable and 2, there may be a lot of names/relationships/connections to keep up with at the beginning!

There is palpable chemistry between our main characters right out of the gate. This was the story I was looking for in the first two books of this series and I was so excited to get everything I wanted with this installment. This sapphic romcom is equal parts funny, charming, and steamy—def pick it up next month if that’s up your alley!

Alexandria Bellefleur is a rising *star* in the world of romance novels. I somehow skipped over the second book in this trilogy, but it doesn't affect this book or the reader's understanding of it whatsoever.

The story of Margot and Olivia is simple, and yet, it's so beautiful. Best friends in high school, their friendship becomes something more after a week-long love affair during their senior year. When Olivia decides to reunite with her jerk of a boyfriend and go to college with him, Margot is heartbroken and determined to never let herself fall for anyone again.

That is until she meets Olivia again years later. Olivia has been hired as a wedding planner for Margot's friends, and it's clear that she hasn't forgotten Margot, either. Their chemistry is undeniable, and soon they are reigniting the flame that sparked so many years ago.

Will Olivia finally learn to put herself and her relationship first? Will Margot realize that she's worthy of being loved without fear of abandonment? This novel explores these questions while drawing attention to the fine line that often exists between friendship and love.

While I loved the characters in the book (and the series as a whole), the romance didn't compare to the first in the series. For a week-long affair that affected both characters for a decade, it was talked about way too little.

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon, and Harper Voyager for the arc.

Margot and Olivia were best friends growing up. After one steamy spring break where they became more than friends, an unfortunate miscommunication led them to drift apart for the next nine years. Now they're been reunited - Olivia is divorced and the last-minute wedding planner for Margot's best friend's wedding. Through a series of circumstances, they're living together and realizing that they feel just as strongly as they ever did.

The heart of this series is friendships. Margot and Olivia lost theirs for nearly a decade, but are able to reclaim it. And the tension between them? Is sizzling. And Margot? is a heck of a dirty talker. A lot of folks will relate to Olivia's tendency to put everyone else ahead of herself. And Margot's frustration with that.

Although you could read this as a standalone, I absolutely recommend you read the first two books to understand the breadth and depth of the friendships in this series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

THIS SERIES WAS SO WONDERFUL!

AHHHH I love these characters so freaking much!
In this book Margot and Olivia were able to find each other again. Grow from the issues in their past and fall in LOVE! It was so beautiful!

This story was so funny, sincere, and sexy! AND THAT EPILOGUE OMG THAT WAS SO FREAKING CUTE MY HEART CAN’T TAKE IT!

This book comes out February 1st! And you should definitely pick it up AND definitely ready the first two books as well because EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE CHARACTERS ARE AMAZING AND THEY ALL GET A BEAUTIFUL HEA!!

this super-cute second chance romance was the perfect wrap-up to the Written in the Stars Trilogy.

I had a GREAT time reading this! It’s a little cheesy at times, but honestly I found it charming. and I LOVE second chance romances; plus, childhood friends to lovers, mutual pining, and forced proximity are among the other amazing tropes used in this romcom.

Overall, this is a lovely book that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a fun, fluffy romcom
