4 stars!

“Count Your Lucky Stars” is the third book in an adult romance trilogy, following a group of friends in Seattle as they all have their own adventures in romance. Our recurring character in this book is Margo, Elle’s (mc of “Written in the Stars”) friend and business partner. When her best friend Brenden (mc of “Hang the Moon”) gets married and hires Olivia, Margo’s childhood best friend-turned-hook up, as their wedding planner, Olivia and Margo are thrown into a situation where they not only have to hang out, but live together.
I really enjoyed this book! The romance was mature (more on that later) with lots of good history. These two characters care so much for each other not only because of their feelings for each other, but also because of their strong friendship. Our two main characters were both super likable! Margo is a really complex character, who on the surface can seem like a carefree, snarky, sarcastic character, but she’s got a lot of insecurities that are well explored in this book. Olivia isn’t as developed, but overall she’s a fun and enjoyable character to follow! The side characters were also great! They added some more humor, and every scene with them was great because it gave more variety to the voices of the book. I especially loved Brendan! (I actually haven’t read the rest of the books in this trilogy, so now I strongly want to read his book)
My main complaint with this book was the ending. It felt a little out of character, and like the maturity that had built went out of the window on Olivia’s end for a couple pages. I thought there could have been a better conflict than the one that happened. There was also a moment of “if it can go wrong, it will”, which was a little much for me.
Other than the ending, I throughly enjoyed this romance! If you want a good sapphic romance, I think this is a great one to go with! I highly suggest you pick it up on Feb. 1st!

a second chance childhood friends to lovers story that made me feel all the emotions while reading. one second i was laughing and the next i would be screaming. the banter was SO GOOD! love the pan and bi rep in this story.

Margot and Olivia are childhood best friends who reunite a decade later when Olivia is the wedding planner for Margot’s best friend. They have deep talks and overcome their barriers. This books was very steamy and i absolutely loved it.

I’m not gonna lie, like the horrible slump-reader I have currently become, I have yet to read the first two books in this series (you should check them out, I’ve heard they are great)
But that did not stop me from loving this book!
So yes, you can read this as a stand-alone, but you will miss out on (what I’m assuming) are inside jokes from previous characters in the series.
All that said, it was still worth it. The cover and blurb of this book sold me, and I instantly requested it once I saw it on NetGalley.

𝔹𝕝𝕦𝕣𝕓: Margot doesn’t do relationships, not after a high school week of loving ended in crashing flames, somewhat giving her abandonment issues of the century. But when her friends all start finding ‘their lobster’ she can’t help but yearn for that same kind of love: something whole and complete.
In walks Olivia- the other person in the aforementioned, week of loving.
Olivia is the wedding planner for Margot’s best friend’s wedding, so they will be seeing a lot of eachother for the next few weeks. Something that neither are quite sure how to feel about.
But with sparks still flying and situations occurring that lead them to be closer than ever before- will the two have a repeat in history? Or will they finally find their happy ever after?

Margot is spunky- the hard edges to the softer Olivia.
The two compliment each other great, and it’s so fun to see how the two work out the odds and ends of being someone’s world to being someone’s old pal.

I also really loved how the author discusses the importance of friendship and bonds. With any friend group, relationships can change things - but those that are meant to be, work through those changes and grow together.
There is so much laughter and love shared between all the friends, and it is such a key element in what drives the story

For fans of tropes, this one is full of the greats: forced proximity, discovering one’s true self, and second chances.
With steamy chemistry and moments that will have you burst out laughing- Alexandria Bellefleur continues to keep up her reputation as an incredible romance author.

A huge thank you to Netgalley and publisher for an ARC in exchange of an honest review!

i was so looking forward the the third installment of this series, having enjoyed both previous titles in the series. i wasn't let down by this entry either, although i do wish there was just a little more before the epilogue. i would have preferred a little bit of a lull after the conflict was resolved before we see the whole series end, but other than that it was a great cap to a great series!

I thought this was adorable. I actually haven't read the other two books in the Written in the Stars series, but this one really worked for me as a stand-alone. I thought Margot and Olivia were well written and had great chemistry together. I loved both of their characters. Best friends to lovers to estranged to roommates to second chance lovers?? I was all for it.

I can't wait to read the other books and learn more about Darcy/Elle and Brendon/Annie.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my review copy! This book is out on February 1st.

I really, really enjoyed this story. The whole setup is classic romcom material and it was very well written. I was hooked from the beginning and flew through the pages.

Watching Margot and Olivia navigate their past and learn to trust in each other and build a future together was very satisfying. Margot's friends were amusing and I love how they welcomed Olivia with open arms. Cat was also very amusing.

This was very much a story where the conflict was internal instead of external -- learning to deal with feelings that had been shoved down and old hurts that had never healed. Margot and Olivia each have a lot to learn from each other and I love how they actually do learn from each other and admit (albeit reluctantly) that the other might have a point.

*Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for providing an e-arc for review.

I loved this whole series. The characters were strong, engaging, and you could really feel the friendships.

Count Your Lucky Stars had so much heart and heat. It was so lovely to see all of Margot's depth. Olivia was such a good counterpoint to her. You could feel the love they had for each other from the first page. I loved Olivia's growth as she moved away from her controlling ex husband, even as he continued to try and manipulate her to the very end.

This was such a great end cap to an already excellent series. I have recommended all three books to so many people and will continue to do so.

This was such a good conclusion to a great series! Second chance stories have always been really special to me and romances with that touch to them always hit a little different. One thing I really appreciated about this second chance story was that we didn't spend too much time discussing or focusing on the past. It was all pretty focused on what was happening in front of us which was super nice. Also, as usual I enjoyed the astrological side of the story. As for characters, Margot is a really fun character who I enjoyed; definitely one of my favorite of Bellefluer's! Olivia is an amazing match for her too and wow did this book have me laughing and smiling SO MUCH! Was also super pleased to see characters from the other books in the series! This was a wonderful conclusion to the series.

My big complaint is really the diversity and that goes through in all the books. The diversity within sexuality and background is certainly there, but the book is super white. Also, the ending conflict was a bit predictable and the conclusion of it happened really quickly for me, so the latter end of the pacing was just a bit jarring compared to the pacing of the rest of the book. Overall, not my favorite in this series, but also a nice way to conclude!

Alexandria Bellefleur is back again with the third book in the Written in the Stars series, "Count Your Lucky Stars.

This book follows the last single member of the crew, Margot, who has been feeling left out now that all of her friends are now coupled up. While getting ready for Brendon's wedding, she is reunited with Olivia, a recently divorced wedding planner and Margot's former best friend. The two drifted apart after a romantic week leaves them both confused about the other's feelings. A flooded apartment leads to Olivia moving in with Margot while the two are still trying to figure out what, if anything, is between them.

Alexandria Bellefleur has such a gift for writing realistic and relatable characters. Even though Margot and I are extremely different people, I could relate and feel for her over her feelings of feeling left behind while her friends are hitting so many milestones. I loved Margot more than I did before.

Olivia was a new characters and I absolutely fell in love with her. I am 100% here for women learning to stand up for themselves and take their lives in their own hands. And as an aspiring wedding planner myself, watching Olivia live my dream job was fun.

Olivia and Margot had an adorable relationship though I did think the pacing of it, and the whole book in general, was a bit strange. They got together so quickly and then kind of nothing else happened in the book? Like it was just them dancing around their feelings for others and I wanted more from them.

I loved this series even though I'd say this is my least favorite of the three. If you were a fan of the first two, I'd still say give this one a go because it still has the humor and heart as the rest of the books, it just felt a bit lacking in the plot.

*I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

it was about time, we sapphics deserved this. this is going to become a comfort read for sure, everything from the growth of the characters, them existing beside their love interests, which may seem like something obvious but sometimes isnt, to the relationships feeling so real, another thing that you may be like???? and i cant really explain it but i liked the way the author explained everything through and how she managed to create an amazing love story with every element being on point. at the end it felt like it was dragging off a little, but i think it was a me thing. THE EPILOGUE, just, thank u to the author, u gave us an amazing story that I'll treasure forever.

If you’re looking for a cute, funny, fluffy f/f romance, Count Your Lucky Stars fits the bill: the story follows Olivia (recently divorced wedding planner extraordinaire), who reunites with her high school best friend (and one-time romance) Margot, who just so happens to be part of the wedding party of the VIP wedding she’s just been assigned to plan. Shenanigans, (and sexual tension) ensue!

This is the third book in a series; I haven’t read the first two, but had no problem jumping in on this one (though I do think I’ll go back to the others, as I’m curious now about their stories) it was easy to figure out which characters featured in the earlier books, though I suspect some characterization depth was lost. Regardless, if you want to jump in to the series here, it’s totally possible and worked very well for me!

This was cute, fun, and hit pretty much all of my romance buttons. The conflict felt mostly very natural and not at all out of character; the pacing was good; the writing flowed well, and was often very funny. (No spoilers, but the ending sequence was a *delight*.)

My one qualm was that I felt like Olivia and Margot could have been more deeply characterized; additional detail and character development, beyond their “major” personality traits, could have helped flesh them out more and make them more compelling. I think the “high school flames reacquainted” premise didn’t help - the characters, despite not having spoken for eleven years, didn’t seem to have a lot to learn about each other, and I think their individual character and romantic development would have benefited a lot from some “rediscovery.”

All in all, a fun and enjoyable read, and I’ll definitely be checking out the preceding books in the series!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-ARC, in exchange for my honest review!

This was such a wonderful book. I absolutely loved it. I loved the LGBTQ representation in this book. I haven’t read the other books in this series yet so I definitely need to do that now. I loved both Margot and Olivia. Two childhood best friends who end up growing apart and then 11 years later meeting again by chance. There are some very spicy parts in this book as well. I loved the sapphic romance. I think the cover is gorgeous as well and I went into this book without knowing anything about the characters from the previous two books. I wasn’t confused though so if you haven’t read the first two you can still read this one. I absolutely adore the second chance romance. I did hate the miscommunication throughout the book. I just wanted to reach in and tell them to admit their feelings to one another already!

5 stars

It’s been ten years since Margot put her heart on the line with her best friend Olivia one fateful spring break – a week that transformed their relationship and forever shaped her outlook on love. In the fallout from their teenage romance, Margot has adopted a strict “no relationship” policy, convinced that they aren’t her style. Life doesn’t wait around, however, and now that all of her friends are in long-term committed relationships, Margot is second-guessing her stance. Fate offers up a chance when she runs into Olivia while touring a potential wedding venue with her engaged friends. Since they fell out with one another a decade ago, Olivia hasn’t exactly led the life she planned, but her new job as a wedding planner in Seattle offers a promising start. When an unexpected event leads her without a place to stay, Margot offers up the spare room in her apartment. Even though they haven’t talked in years, history bears repeating, and their chance encounter may lead them to rediscover the love that they've been looking for.

Count Your Lucky Stars is the book that has solidified Alexandria Bellefleur as a romance god in my mind. Truly no one else could have me laughing out loud and screaming in sheer frustration all at the same time. Having read the other two previous books in the series, I was thrilled to hear that its conclusion would center around Margot, a character who always gravitated attention from the sidelines. Given that this third installment features tropes that I would sell my soul for: mutual pining, forced proximity, and childhood friends to lovers, it was high up on my list of anticipated releases. Bellefleur has always had a knack for creating compelling characters and I have to say that Margot and Olivia are her best to date. The banter between them was so amusing and refreshing to read and I loved witnessing the complicated history between them unravel. Second-chance romances have always been an underrated trope in my opinion, and this one had me by the throat like no other. The chemistry with Olivia and Margot was already there to explore, along with years of miscommunication and unresolved feelings. This led to so much angst and pining on both sides that was incredibly entertaining to read. As this incorporates characters from the previous books there were so many little moments between the friend group and past couples. It was so touching to see where everyone ended up, even more, to see Olivia as a new character fall entirely into place with that. The backdrop of Seattle continues to dazzle here, with new locations and meaningful moments interspersed throughout the city. Count Your Lucky Stars may be a conclusion, but it is no less impactful or delightful than the first two books in the series. For as long as Alexandria Bellefleur keeps writing the queer romances of my dreams, I will be there championing them forward.

This review will be posted on my blog upon publication and is posted on my Goodreads as of 1/11/22

This lovely f/f second chance, roommates to lovers romance was full of heart and heat. I adored Margot and Olivia, best friends in high school who after a lengthy years long gap, reconnect. Olivia, recently divorced and out of an apartment due to flooding, moves in with Margot, and all their old feelings and attraction rise to the surface. The book is very hot, the dirty talk is A++ and watching Olivia learn to accept that she deserves love and happiness is really wonderful. Adore the found family aspect of this book as well as all the MCs from the first 2 books show up. It’s a beautiful way to end the series, catching up to everyone in a way that is very satisfying and and yet, true to who each of these characters are.

I must have had "Written in the Stars" on my TBR shelf forever. But once I read it I fell completely in love with Alexandria Bellefleur's writing and storytelling. I read through the entire series, including an ARC of "Count Your Lucky Stars" thanks to NetGalley and AvonRomance.

Bellefleur's sapphic loves are amongst my favorite written couples. And this book has all my favorite tropes - second chance, friends to lovers, roommates. The world that Bellefleur has created is filled with dynamic, well-thought out characters. We get to see the couples from previous books, and continue to follow their story through, which I loved. And we finally get Margot's story - she starts off as a supporting character that you instantly love for her humor, compassion, snark, etc. So it was so exciting to finally see her full novel.

Olivia and Margot had a moment years before that fell apart due to miscommunication. Years later they're reunited because of a wedding - Olivia, the wedding planner and Margot, the best friend. At first, it's a little bumpy and they're both still dealing with unresolved hurt. However, as the story progresses - and thanks to a leaky pipe, they become roommates - the opportunity to explore each other again becomes irresistible.

And damn do they explore fans self Bring on that open door, not-fade-to-black steaminess - I am here for it!!

The characters were fun and funny, the steam and chemistry was genuine and believable and this entire series, but most especially this book, was a joy to read. It was a wonderful representation of queer/pan romance and I would recommend this to any romance reader.

After Elle and Brandon have gotten their happily-ever-after, Bellefleur returns to the Written in the Stars series with Margot’s second chance at love. Following two childhood best friends, Margot and Olivia, who had one week of romantic spring break bliss until a misinterpreted text led to heartbreak and radio silence for ten years, the both of them unexpectedly run into each other when Olivia is assigned to be the wedding planner for Margot’s best friend’s wedding. When Olivia’s apartment ends up uninhabitable, Margot offers Olivia a place to stay. In close proximity, old feelings resurface and the question is: will these two get their happily-ever after?

Despite not being a big fan of the second chance at love trope, Count Your Lucky Stars turned out to be my favourite installment in Bellefleur’s heartfelt romcom series. This book just had so much going for it and (if the rumours are true) will be a satisfying conclusion for Bellefleur fans!

What I love about Bellefleur’s stories is that, even though the romantic part is at the forefront, we still get extremely well-developed and distinct characters to follow. In alternating POVs, we get to know Olivia and her ambitions as well as her emotion about her failed relationship with her college sweetheart. We also learn more about what makes Margot tick and her feelings about being the odd one out in her friend group which added a lot to the story.

Fans of the series can also rejoice because there are loads of returning characters—since Olivia’s first solo project is Annie and Brandon’s wedding, they as well as Darcy and Elle are very present in this novel and it was such a lovely addition to see their stories develop in the background. Cameos are always a good time and in this, we even get some side conflicts as Margot is starting to feel like the fifth wheel because she’s the only one who isn’t paired up and that tied in so well with the main obstacle between Margot and Olivia’s chance at love.

Speaking of Margot and Olivia, did this book deliver on their chemistry! From their first encounter (ten years after they’ve last spoken, might I add), the chemistry was undeniable. From laugh-out-loud banter to subtle digs to awkward encounters (I’ll mention a cat and a vibrator and you’ll have to read the book to find out more) and eventual steamy times, Margot and Olivia just worked so well together on every level. There’s mutual pining and anxiety because of the way things ended between them in the past, but there’s also so much support and warmth they have for each other that will melt your heart. There are also so many discussions about miscommunication in relationships (romantic and platonic), what it means to grow up and grow apart and how being vulnerable can feel like readying yourself to be stomped on. Honestly, I’m struggling to imagine anyone not falling head over heels for this amazing pairing.

With the perfect combination of charming, funny and steamy moments, Count Your Lucky Stars is a heartfelt, immersive second-chance romcom and a well-rounded addition to the Written in the Stars series. Fans of the estranged-friends to lovers and close-proximity trope won’t want to miss out on this sweet, sexy and sapphic goodness!

I love all three of Alexandria Bellefleur’s Written in the stars books but this one is probably my favorite. It’s a sapphic estranged friend's to lovers and the romance between Margot and Olivia is so beautiful and I really enjoyed their story. I felt crazy connected to Margot in some ways and her character really shines through in this book. Absolutely amazing read, thank you Netgalley and Avon Books for this ARC for an honest review.

Book three in the series and I really enjoyed revisiting the characters that were established in Written in the Stars. This time around, Margot’s story! The plot and underlying stories of how people find family were the best parts. I felt this book lacked some of those little details that I adored, like Seattle location references and astrology tie ins. There were a few, but not nearly as many as Written in the Stars and Hang the Moon. Perhaps a little rushed? But I enjoyed it. I’d give it a 3.5. I will definitely add that this author is on my auto-read list!

I absolutely LOVED this steamy, second chance at love sapphic romance between two high school best friends. There is just so much to love about this new book in the Seattle series!!

- A returning cast of wonderful, supportive friends
- A Cat with PERSONALITY (the vibrator scene had me rolling on the floor laughing!)
- Open door, steamy and oh so intimate love scenes! (I don't care what your sexual orientation is, having a caring partner that wants to please and who touches tenderly with love is always going to win in my books!)
- Vulnerable and honest discussions about love

If you haven't yet had the pleasure of reading a book by this author you are missing out! I really hope there are more books in store set in this universe because I just can't get enough!!

Highly, highly recommended, especially for fans of books like Satisfaction guaranteed, Love & other disasters or Delilah Green doesn't care. Much thanks to NetGalley and AvonRomance for my advance review copy. This book releases Feb 1st and you should add it to your #tbr ASAP! (less)

Count Your Lucky Stars is the excellent conclusion to the Written in the Stars series. This book follows Margot who is beginning to feel lonely as her best friends are now coupled-up and she feels like the fifth wheel. Enter Olivia, childhood best friend of Margot. They have not spoken since they spent a week in bed together prior to attending separate colleges a decade ago. Suddenly, they're stuck together, as Olivia plans an important wedding for Margot's friends. When Olivia's apartment floods, they're temporarily roommates where it becomes increasingly more difficult to ignore their feelings. If they're going to have a chance of a future, they need to figure out what went wrong in the past first.

I was SOOOO excited to get approved to read this book early. “Written in the Stars” was my absolute favorite rom-com of 2020 and one of my all-time favorite books ever, so when I saw that Margot was finally going to get her own HEA, I immediately requested an e-arc. Alexandria Bellefleur has become one of my must-read authors, and this book just cements that. Every book in the Written in the Stars series has been just as good as the one before, all easily earning 5 star ratings. Margot was one of my favorites in the previous books, and I loved finally getting the chance to read about her story. This can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the first 2 in the series, so you can really get to know the characters of Darcy, Elle, Brandon and Annie. I love when two characters are totally into each other and have this lingering history in a romance. We get that here with Margot and Olivia and all the awkward tension that goes with it when they suddenly become roommates. These two have sooooo much sexual chemistry, the heat was pouring off the pages! This was the steamiest of the three books and I just enjoyed their back and forth so much.

This book was amazing and I just wish we got more time with these characters. As with the other two books in the series, this one strikes a spectacular balance of humor, romance, and tension. I absolutely adored catching up with the main couples from the previous books. I find Bellefleur's writing style to be really compelling and she writes such lively and dynamic characters and friendships. Along with "Written in the Stars", I can totally see myself re-reading this book down the road and I’ve already pre-ordered a physical copy. The book genuinely made me laugh out loud and I couldn't put it down. I’m sad that the Written in the Stars universe is over, but this was a great end to the series. I can’t wait to read whatever comes next from Alexandria Bellefleur, but I do hope we get a check-in with the “Written in the Stars” characters down the line! If you want a cute, fast, steamy romance, this is definitely a great one to pick up! Big thanks and thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review. I would give this book 10 stars if I could!!!
