This is my second Alexandria Bellefleur novel. I was a huge fan of Written in the Stars, but this one just didn’t really work for me. I found both of the main character’s behavior to be off-putting and annoying at times; it often felt like there wasn’t a true barrier to their relationship. The spice was well written though! I’ll definitely continue reading Bellefleur’s books even if this one wasn’t for me.

I can confidently say I can count on Alexandria Bellefleur for a solid romance at this point!
This was a super cute second chance romance between a wedding planner and an Astrology app creator who had a brief friends-to-lovers romance when they were in high school.
Okay, let’s start with the good. The pacing of this was super fast, evidenced by the fact that I breezed through this book in a day. Both of the characters were well developed and likable with lots of cute little quirks and intricacies. And the romance was one you could definitely root for! I definitely enjoyed the journey of seeing Margot and Olivia find each other again. Not to mention I think that Bellefleur excels in taking some more uncommon character backstories/professions and weaves them together with art. How many other astrologer/wedding planner romances can you say you’ve read recently?
However, there were a few things that kept this from being a new favorite for me. First, if you’re not a fan of the miscommunication trope (which I am not), this isn’t the book for you. Throughout the entire book I just kept wanting to scream at both of them to TALK, because what was keeping them apart was definitely easily fixed. Second, and again I don’t like this in general, but the third act breakup really got me here. I had so thought I finally escaped that trope because we were soooo close to the end without getting one, but alas. And the fact that it was so close to the end of the book really highlighted to me how it was 1 unnecessary, 2 a really small conflict and 3, rushed. Finally, as with the earlier books, I think that the phrase “tongue darting out” was used far too much.
Despite my issues with it, I really did enjoy, and would recommend this book!
Intended audience: adult
Pacing: fast
CW: family member illness

A sweet second chance romance story with both depth & lighthearted moments. Both MCs are great.
[What I liked:]
•Margot & Olivia are both charming, believable, sympathetic, & cool MCs, & they have good chemistry together. I liked them as individual characters, & as the main pairing.
•There are many cute shenanigans, including Cat the cat, spark plugs, meddling match makers, & ski lifts. The funny bits weren’t too unrealistic, & were pretty cute.
•I appreciate how Margot & Olivia got to grow as humans throughout the story, becoming more vulnerable & honest with themselves & each other. I enjoyed rooting for them.
[What I didn’t like as much:]
•There is a bit of the old “if you’d just talk to each other, there would be no problems!” going on, both in the romance story line & in other relationships the MCs have.
CW: infidelity, abusive relationship dynamics
[I received an ARC ebook copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you for the book!]

Alexandria Bellefleur became my favorite romance author of all times! I started de "Written in the stars" trilogy with this book and instantly fell in love!

This book was my favorite of the series! A bit of sunshine/grump as well as second chance romance had me so enthralled! Bellefleur has a way of writing that showcases the world as a millennial that was relatable through the language. The cast was as diverse racially as it was sexually but it was still showcasing a part of the queer community.
I also loved seeing the past couples of the series living out their lives together through this story!

I ended up purchasing a finished copy without reading the ARC because I loved the first two books so much, but this one didn't hold up.
I am so disappointed that I didn’t love this. I’m still rating it well because I like the characters, but this was a flop of a conclusion in my eyes.
I feel like the spark I found in the first two books didn’t exist, and the overall story didn’t capture my attention. I kept reading and nothing kept happening.
Olivia and Margot’s voices were too similarly written and I had a hard time differentiating them.
I loved seeing the previous characters make cameos. I think that’s the only redeeming feature I can think of right now.

This is the third in the Written in the Stars series, and I think it was my favorite.
Margot Cooper is absolutely not interested in love. She’d been burned before and wasn’t going to make that mistake again. So it sucked that all of her friends were coupling up, leaving her the only one who wasn’t mooning about all starry-eyed.
While touring a wedding venue with her friends she runs into Olivia Grant, who was her…well everything, a long time ago. They were childhood friends and then first loves, but it’s been ten years since they saw each other.
Olivia took the job as a wedding planner in Seattle as a way to get a fresh start after her divorce. The last person she expected to see was her ex-best friend from a million years ago—the one who got away.
Olivia’s new start in Seattle isn’t going as smoothly as she likes and she ends up without a place to live. Naturally, she ends up in Margot’s spare room, and the two of them start to get to know each other again. Can they rebuild their friendship? What about their lost love?
Olivia and Margo were two of my favorite characters this author has written. They were so real, and vulnerable, and infinitely lovable. Each of them had a lot of baggage to work through, but watching them grow together was an absolute delight. Plus, I can’t go past a book set in Seattle. It was sweet, steamy and delicious.

Alexandria Bellefleur has quickly become one of those authors that I will continue to recommend to anyone that will listen. I love the characters in the Written in the Stars series and am so happy that I got to read Margot and Olivia's story.
This book is spicy, romantic, and full of second chances. Count your Lucky Stars is the Grumpy/ Sunshine queer book of your dreams.

an honor to live through Seattle and washington via Bellefluer as always. Love finding and connecting the little Taylor Swift hints

This was cute. I haven't read the other two books in the series, so I feel like I would have enjoyed the characters a bit more if I had, but it's still perfectly readable on its own.

Count Your Lucky Stars is the third (and presumably final?) installment in the Written in the Stars romance series, finally bringing love to the practical, occasionally grumpy, Margot. Love in the form of a second chance and former best friend, Olivia, to be precise. The tropes are good, the steamy scenes are well-written, but it's all the other stuff in between - you know, the plot and characterization - that just don't land for me. This has been true of the two previous books in this series as well, to be honest, and frankly I liked a lot of things about Margot and Olivia's story more than the two previous (and one of the things I liked least about Hang the Moon is one of the problems in Count Your Lucky Stars, too - too much Brendon, who is, I'm sorry, annoying). But there's just so much...filler. So many extraneous details, that don't communicate much to me about who these people are and what they're feeling or dealing with, that just seems like extra words. It's an extremely skimmable book for this reason, which isn't great - I want to savor spending time with characters in a romance novel, not speed through their unnecessary fidgeting and repetitive chatter.
If you liked the first two in this series, Count Your Lucky Stars will be a hit, and Margot & Olivia have more chemistry than the couples in the first two books. They also have slightly more compelling personalities in their own right, and I do appreciate the way their own respective personal issues (fear of abandonment! need to sacrifice one's own happiness to take care of others! etc) played out and clashed in the story. I just wish it was trimmed down considerably (not that much...happens...for so many words), and that the third act conflict didn't feel so forced and coincidence-heavy.

Margot and Olivia were best friends growing up...and then after becoming each other's first, well, everything, they go their separate ways for a decade. Olivia returns to town, wedding planner to Margot's brother. When she unexpectedly needs a place to stay, Margot offers up her spare bedroom and typical romance tropes ensue.
This one is steamy but I did not connect with it as much as the other two books in the series. It took me forever to finish because I found myself bored with it - something that did not happen with books 1 and 2. It is a good enough book, missing the sparkle of the first two.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

LOOOOOVE this author and love this series - I will now read anything she writes! What a fun set of characters & I love this world she's created. Highly recommend.

This was a cute closing chapter on the series. I really enjoyed seeing the childhood best friends turned lovers/second chance romance in a sapphic romance.

I really enjoy this series! It's so bingeable and I finished this book in less than 24 hours! The characters feel so real and relatable, and I find myself smiling throughout the entire story. Margo has been a favorite character since book one, so I enjoyed her chance at love.

I wanted to love this sapphic romance, but it was just okay. I loved the setting, and it was steamy. There were some great and relatable moments, but in the end it was just a good book, not a great book.

Margot Cooper doesn’t do relationships. She tried and it blew up in her face, so she’ll stick with casual hookups, thank you very much. But now her entire crew has found "the one" and she’s beginning to feel like a fifth wheel. And then fate (the heartless bitch) intervenes. While touring a wedding venue with her engaged friends, Margot comes face-to-face with Olivia Grant—her childhood friend, her first love, her first… well, everything. It’s been ten years, but the moment they lock eyes, Margot’s cold, dead heart thumps in her chest.
This book was the perfect combination of 🍭 and 🌶!
I loved both Margot and Olivia and the friendships they shared with the side characters! This book was such a fun and romantic read that also showcases a wedding, and since I am currently planning my own it made me extra excited! 🥰
Pick this one up if you love sapphic novels, beautiful friendships, and total laugh out loud moments!!

This was such a fun second chance and friends to lovers romance! I loved Olivia's relationship with her dad. Not a big fan of why they stopped "seeing each other" in the first place but I do love a good HEA

This was such a sweet romance novel with fantastic LGBTQ+ representation. It had a nice second chance romance storyline and it was so nice seeing characters from the first two novels in the series return again with Annie and Brendon’s wedding! Margot and Olivia were really wonderful together and I loved how they built each other up. I enjoyed the way the author gave us glimpses into their past and what happened that broke them apart for ten years. The steam was good and you could feel how much they care about one another. The friendships and relationships in this series are really wonderful. I truly enjoyed all three books!

‘Count Your Lucky Stars’ by Alexandria Bellefluer was such a fun romance, and the perfect third installment in the ‘Written in the Stars’ series. Highly recommended!
