I became a fan of Alexandria Bellefleur earlier this year when I finally got my hands on "Written in the Stars", an inclination that was further proved when I read "Hang the Moon" in August. Therefore, I was really looking forward to her next release -- another f/f romance, to boot!
Sadly, this one fell a little flat for me.
Olivia was a wonderful new addition to the group and Margot was hilarious as always, and I like the reunited-friends component, but for all that history I feel like they lacked chemistry. And maybe that's just because they got together so early in the book; from all my years reading fanfiction, I know I like the sweet agony of slow burn.
Then, because Olivia and Margot got together so early there was barely any conflict except for the third act fight and even then it felt too late. In "Hang the Moon" we know through the entire book that she's hesitant to start anything with Brendon because she's been unceremoniously dropped for someone else and she's scared that will happen again. There's nothing like that here.
Plus, the friend group -- so vital and prominent in the other two books -- is barely mentioned. You'd think a book with Brendon and Annie's wedding as a subplot would include them more.
I'll still read Miss Bellefleur's next book. I love her writing story and she writes such real and sweet characters that she's a romance author I will always read. I did have some fun here trying to figure out who the subject of the next book is, if she continues with the companion books in this Seattle universe. My money's on Luke, but one about Olivia's dad could be really fun. As long as it's not Brad.

A charming, easy read.
Count Your Lucky Stars is a charming second chance romance. If you want something comforting, a bit steamy and just a big ball of fluffy— this is exactly for you.
Personally, this was kind of a miss for me. I didn’t think the plot was strong enough to stand on its own, and the characters weren’t interesting enough to stand in their own, so it might for a lackluster read. It took a long time to get into. I wasn’t remotely invested until the midway point, but even then I wasn’t in love with anyone or the writing.
The tension saves the story, however. Where I didn’t find in depth, it made up for in spice.
Like I said, this leans more fluff heavy than my taste, but it’s cute. It was just too light for me. I love a good romance, but I want heart in it. I can’t root for two people when I don’t root for them individually.
But this is no means a bad book. Just not for me.

Absolutely fan-fucking-tastic! This has been one of my most anticipated reads since Alexandria Bellefleur made the announcement a few months ago. I loved Written in the Stars and Hang the Moon, and was honestly hesitant about Margot's book living up to the hype but it delivered tenfold. I love this book, I love this series, and I can't wait until the rest of the world gets to read it.

this was so cute and such a quick and easy read. i loved the characters and thought it was very enjoyable! i haven’t read anything else by the author but definitely want to

So much fun, just as good as the rest of the books by this author. The perfect sapphic romcom for the 2020's.. I loved the characters I loved the story I just had a blast!

Count Your Lucky stars is not a genre I’ve read very much of, and yet I still enjoyed it a lot. I haven’t read the two companion novels to it either, and even still these characters were awesome and I loved them all no matter how much or how little we saw of them and I really want to read the first two and learn more about Elle and Darcy, and Brendon and Annie and how their stories came to be. The tension, the dialogue, the friendships, everything had me pulled in immediately. I see now why these books are so hyped and talked about.
So Margot, she was my favorite. She’s stubborn, Sarcastic, honest and incredibly independent. But she’s also caring, and funny as hell. She’s learned to live her life for herself and do what makes her happy. Sure she’s got some issues she’s working through, but she’s a work in progress. I loved how she cared about Olivia and always tried to do the best She could.
Olivia is sweet, and kind, and cares a lot. She’s got a huge heart, and she’s still figuring out how to put it back together. She’s newly divorced, out of a marriage that was never in her favor and I felt incredibly bad for her. I’m happy that Margo made sure that she knew how much more she deserved, that she was worth more than she gave herself credit for.
Overall, this was steamy, heartfelt, and tender in all the right places. Light when it needed to be, and heavy when it was necessary. I sat and read the second half in one sitting because I literally could not stop reading, I needed to know what happened.
I look forward to reading more of Alexandria Bellefleur's writing and seeing what she writes in the future.

This book was very sweet and I enjoyed it a lot! I was excited to read since I was a big fan of Written in the Stars. I think the first is still the strongest in the series, but this was still an enjoyable and fun read.

Margot & Olivia stumble upon each other in one of those 'everyone has found the love of their life' and I haven't kind of moments. Many post-collegiate, 20 and 30 somethings can relate. This time the trope is 'old friends/lovers' with a heartbreak back story that no one wants to admit to. I'd say there is also a bit of grump/sunshine trope thrown in, too.
I've read Bellefleur's two previous books in this series and I enjoyed Margot's story as well. I actually liked her more as a side character than I did at the beginning of this book, but the author won me over (of course), and I wa happy to root for the two of them to reunite in an emotional way (not just steamy way). It's good to find characters who can accept that their childhood friend has grown as a person.
Funny, caring, and easy to read.
Thanks for the ARC!

This fun friends to lovers, second chance romance is the third book in the series that kicked off with Written in the Stars.
SUMMARY: Margot’s friends are pairing off, and she’s worried she’ll be the last girl standing. But when her former best friend and high school hookup ends up back in her life--and in her apartment--old feelings resurface for both of them!
The love story between Margot and Olivia was steamy and charming. I loved Margot as a character--she’s sassy and sarcastic but also a great friend--and felt that the chemistry between her and Olivia really worked. I also loved that despite the hang-ups each woman possessed, they both wanted to help the other grow.
This is one book where the characters’ lack of communication did not get on my nerves. It made sense that they’d hide their feelings behind a veil of friendship for so long, and I loved how jealous Margot got, even though Olivia’s personality was consistently that of a people-pleaser. Everything about their dynamic felt real to me.
I love this series and hope the author comes up with a solid reason to revisit it for another book. Will Dr. Luke be redeemed in a future installment? Only time will tell!

I think this was maybe the best one out of the series! Bellefleur still has a pacing problem, but it was cute and steamy and nice to see everyone together for a happy ending.

Than you to Netgalley and the publishing house for a chance to read an ARC of this book! I have been dying to read this book ever since I devoured Written in the Stars! The Angst! The romance! The setting! This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2022, and it does not disappoint! Bellefleur’s humorous and addictive prose make the plot fast and crisp, the characters and the relationship between Margot and Olivia is extremely well-developed full of chemistry. I can’t wait to see what book Bellefleur has next up her sleeve!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Count Your Lucky Stars was such a heartfelt sapphic romance read filled with delightful characters, dialogue, and storyline. This book is a standalone however, it is part of an interconnected series, Written in the Stars so I would recommend reading the prior books in the series for more context and backstory.
The writing and overall story development in this book was well written and executed. The storyline was just so refreshing and enjoyable. There were some amazing tropes used in this book as well, including: former best friends to lovers, close proximity, and a second chance romance. It is also dual POVs of the main characters, which was just amazing.
The main characters, Margot Cooper and Olivia Grant were absolutely brilliant. Their development and growth throughout the book was so well written and heartfelt. The romance between them was filled with lots of chemistry, tension, and angst. Their past history and all the miscommunication between them was heartbreaking but their reconciliation was absolutely worth it. There were also some spicy/smutty scenes in this book, which I was not expecting but absolutely loved.
The ending was a bit rushed but nonetheless enjoyable. Additionally, the epilogue in this book was just the perfect conclusion for all the characters in the series. Overall, this book was just a beautifully written story with an amazing second chance romance between former best friends.

Nice is not the right word, but it is how I feel after reading this. Literally, I'm smiling like an idiot because everything is happy and there was just the right amount of drama. THE COMMUNICATION!!!! I have been waiting for a romance with healthy communication, this one has it and I LOVED every second of it. This is a really great sapphic romance, if you're looking for one (truly the perfect end to this series that so many people including me have loved!!)
There were several very funny laugh out loud moments coupled with real moments that are relatable for young adults--friends moving on, things changing, exploring the deeper reasons for your fears....just really 'light stuff'(*insert sarcasm here*)
If that wasn't enough, think friends to lovers'. Reconnecting with old friend. Found family....oh, and they were roommates in the very gay kind of way. Truly fantastic and I can't wait to get a hard copy for my library!

This book and these characters. I absolutely adored Margot and could relate to her. Never lacking in one liners, she is everything I love in a character. Obviously, I love a good romance or I wouldn’t be reading a romance but this one ticked all the boxes for me. It was funny, heartfelt, had depth, and I truly enjoyed the characters.
Especially Cat. The only downside I faced with this one didn’t come from the characters or the writing (both are great) but I just hated the lack of communication between Olivia and Margot! So many things could’ve been avoided or resolved with talking. I also realize that’s a real human flaw and happens quite often so it still gets a high rating from me. Overall, I loved this book. A great sapphic read that’s light and fun.

DNF, I didn't know this was the third in a series and I just can't get into the first book. I started the first chapter of this one just to see and like the first I'm not vibing with the style. I hear these books are wonderful, but they just aren't working for me.

I adored this series so much! This was absolutely a lovely conclusion and I’m going to miss the story, the characters and everything they made me feel while reading them.

5/5 Stars
I am a sucker for three things: childhood friends to lovers, second chance romance, and Alexandria Bellefleur. This book was exactly what I needed to get out of my reading slump and a fantastic addition to the series.

Overall Impression: As the third book in the Written in the Stars series, it was nice to finally see Margot get her HEA. This was a very enjoyable second chance romance but I wish we’d had a bit more build up of attraction.
Synopsis: Event planner Olivia gets the best opportunity of her career to prove herself by planning the (last minute) wedding of dating app founder Brenden and Annie when she runs into her high school bestie (and longtime crush) Margot, who happens to also be Brenden’s Best Woman. When Olivia’s apartment floods, Margot offers up her spare room for Olivia where sparks quickly fly.
My Thoughts: So glad there’s another WLW romance out there, as there’s not enough representation out there. I also loved seeing Margot happy and learning about Olivia was great, but I felt like they jumped into things quickly, which is fine, but as the reader, I didn’t see their connection as well until later. You knew they were friends in high school but didn’t see the reasons why they liked each other, just that they did. You got into that more later but the first half was mostly sexual chemistry. I did love how in the end, neither girl shied away from telling the other the honest truth that they needed to hear.
The steam: This book is super steamy, maybe more so than the other two. Lots of steamy scenes and dirty talk.
I definitely recommend reading this, especially if you liked the first 2 in the series, I just wanted a bit more out of bed chemistry from the readers perspective.

childhood friends to lovers and miscommunication trope, my best friends. i love that even though they hadn’t seen each other for 11 years they could still be friends and all the stuff that happened in the past hadn’t left them, if that makes sense. this book was so well done and the epilogue at the end was adorable, i love that it ended with all three couples married/engaged.

This was an entertaining “second chance at romance”, sapphic book. Interesting main characters, supportive side characters, good setting, and plot. I enjoyed it!
Margot and Olivia’s lives have diverged but chance and an emergency salvage wedding plan for Margot’s good friend bring them together after long ago misunderstandings and years spent apart. Sparks fly and it doesn’t take long for their mutual attraction to heat up again.
