David Jeremiah does a great job at discussing the issues that we are seeing in our day and age. He uses scripture to show us how we should be living our lives in preparation for the end of time. It's over all a fast and good read.
I usually like Dr. David Jeremiah's book but not this one. It was too much about him and his success.
I received a complimentary copy from Thomas Nelson--W Publishing via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Really enjoy Dr. David Jeremiah books and Where do we go from here is no exception. It was written so insightful and show how the world's problems today have been happening for centuries. We are in such paralyzing times we need to stay in GOD'S word and pray for us to rally together and depend on GOD.
To use terminology from a book I just read, I can't help but think the author is following "the way of the dragon", not "the way of the lamb". I fear it seems at times inflammatory about social issues. Other times it seem to chase the author's extreme success,
Perhaps I am the wrong audience here, but I fear this title and summary may misguide readers away from the love of the "lamb" (Jesus).
What an informative book! David Jeremiah wrote this book basically as an update of a prior book based on our current world situation as compared to the biblical explanation of the end times. I found his insight very fascinating and he backs his information up with bible verses to encourage each reader to do their own study. I would recommend this book. Thank you to Net Galley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book.
Where Do We Go from Here?
How Tomorrow’s Prophecies Foreshadow Today’s Problems
by Dr. David Jeremiah
Thomas Nelson--W Publishing
Rating: 3-4 (It was jam-packed with good info but it was not smooth reading. I’d still buy it as a resource, however)
Back of the Book: “Today’s headlines shout of modern plagues, social tensions, economic crises, and rampant depression. Many are asking, what day is it on God’s prophetic calendar? Trusted Bible teacher and Pastor, Dr. David Jeremiah opens up the Word of God to reveal what it has to say about the days we are living in.
Sharing how prophecies and wisdom from centuries ago still speak the truth today and point the way forward for tomorrow. Whether one is new to biblical prophecy or a longtime student of the Bible, this timely message will encourage and recalibrate us to the mission of God in our daily lives. Journey with Dr. Jeremiah back to the Bible to find out, Where Do We Go from Here?”
My Thoughts: Although this is the first book by Dr. David Jeremiah, I’ve read I am familiar with his teaching and resources. I was excited to read this book after a sermon series at our church from one of his previous books about end times. What a question, “Where do we go from here?” While reading this book I felt like I constantly had to go back to the purpose of this book. There was a plethora of information and good wisdom while reading but it didn’t feel streamlined. The topics felt like a pinball machine, bouncing back and forth. Although I enjoyed the wisdom, I struggled to stay focused on the main points. After reading this book can I answer the question, “where do we go from here?” Yes, I can. I think the points highlighted in this book were where how the world is going against God and what we can do to remain faithful to God and encouraged during these times.
Inspiring Thoughts: Sorry friends but there was just too much highlighting to even begin here. I do encourage you to grab this book and read it yourself though.
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review shared here.
Where Do We Go From Here
2 stars
I do not recommend this book. David Jeremiah seems to have lost his way with this one and the theology is a bit iffy.
Dr. David Jeremiah’s latest book, Where Do We Go From Here?, has been a very enlightening read, and one that I read in record time. It includes not only the symptoms of much of our anxiety as a nation, from cancel culture to cybercrime, but also the remedy. This book can be used for eschatology or witnessing or to be reminded as Christians that God is still in control, no matter how out of control the world seems to be. This book was very encouraging and I recommend it to all who need help understanding the turmoil of the present time and how Bible prophecy can prepare us for the days ahead. If you need answers to questions that seem unanswerable, this book can shed light from God’s infallible word in a very personal and practical way.
