I’m a sucker for a feel good romance and for that reason I enjoyed this book. It was funny and heartwarming, and had themes of grief running through it too which made it more than just a typical romcom.
Rachel’s ex boyfriend Jack who broke her heart whilst at university shows up at her workplace, with an interest in reestablishing their relationship. Rachel then faces a love triangle with Jack and her close friend Tom, who is genuine, kind and cares deeply for her.
I loved the friendships between the characters in this book, especially Rachel and Anna, and I would recommend this book as a light read with both emotional and funny moments.
I did have a problem with the POV in this book. It was told in third person but mostly followed Rachel. I just think it would have benefitted from being written in first person but that’s just my personal preference.
I thought this was a lovely light read that I will recommend to others. Thanks for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read an early release of this book. I haven't read such a great book in such a long time.
A bomb gets dropped into Rachel's life when her old boyfriend, who broke her heart, shows up at her workplace. Throughout the whole book, I was in suspense about whether (1) he actually is a good guy and (2) will they get back together or (3) is it all a lie? That could've been the story in itself, but I love how the author added in the complexity of the always reliable friend Tom, who also is in Rachel's life - and has clear disapproval about the old boyfriend. Who will she end up with.......?
Rachel struggles with many of the same issues that many women can relate to. Personal insecurities, navigating male friends, that nagging mom, best friends getting married and moving on from single life, unresolved ex's, and the list goes on and on. This book is SO good. It's officially made my favorites list (which as an avid reader, is a hard list to crack)!!!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Embla books for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review! Cute romance with love triangle, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, and fake dating. There were so many things that I liked about this but also so many things that I was waiting for to happen that just…didn’t happen? I wish we could have seen Tom and Rachel’s relationship progress in more than just small chunks throughout the book. I think there were times when it felt like there was too much going on. I really wish the experiences with Tom were highlighted more, as the scene with his little brother was my favorite part of the book, but I unfortunately think it focused too much on Rachel’s life at work. Overall, It was an easy, quick, cute read and the ending was probably how I would have guessed would happen, but was very cute.
Rachel Ryan's Resolutions was well written, but it really didn't work for me. The main character is way too hung up on an old cheating boyfriend from a decade ago.
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle by Embla and #NetGalley for my honest opinion.
Rachel Ryan’s Resolutions is perfect for those looking for a comfortable, light, lovely little read.
