My first & definitely won’t be my last Alice Raine book. I was captivated from the first page to the last! I absolutely adored these characters and going on their journey.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
Loved this one. So good. The writing just drew me in. The characters felt so real. I was smiling my face off.
Wow a spicy read! It was a gripping read that followed several couples all linked with Club Twist. Natalia was a bartender at David’s club and develops feelings for him. Unbeknownst to David, Natalia has similar interests as him and they hit it off very quickly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Needing a quick and super spicy read? This would be a great one to pick up.
My favorites from this book:
💗multiple POV’s - I loved getting both the male and female POV
💗 focused on two separate relationships that are very different
💗 spice was super 🔥🔥
💗 the group scenes and kinks
💗 the little bit of plot to go with the tons of spice
💗 character growth from all four main characters
This is the last book in the series but I read it as a stand-alone and still followed the story well.
Crashing to a Halt by Alice Raine
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this eARC in exchange for my review!
The owner of Club Twist, David Halton has a steamy relationship with an employee of the Club, Natalia. She loves living in his world and his friends. The couple is good friends with two other couples that are involved with the club. Life is going great for the couples until one night when an event occurs that puts their lives one the line. In addition, David's business is greatly altered. This book is part of a trilogy. I recommend it.
This is third book of the trilogy and i would have got more from it had I read the other 2 books first as characters appear that it would have been more satisfying to know the background to them in the first 2 books!
The book switches between the different characters and you get the tale told in their voices which moves the plot along. There is quite a bit of sexy steam as David - Natalia's boss - steps in to help her and their relationship develops. There are lots of emotionally fraught scenes as the book hurtles towards its conclusion and the ever appreciated extra epilogue!
I'd heard a lot about this book so I was eager to read it myself. I found it to be an enjoyable read, lighthearted and fun, with plenty of action. Some of the plot was a little predictable but not so much that it took away likeability. Definitely a great beach read!
It was an ok read. I had not read the other books in the series so I was a little lost and would not consider this a standalone. Not much character development, they relationships seemed a little off and some continuity issues
This is the 3rd and final book in this trilogy and I would recommend reading the entire series for best enjoyment. The couples of Club Twist are back and sparks are flying. Natalia was a bartender and the club and her boss David swoops in to rescue her from an unruly customer their attraction grows. This is a fast-paced read with off the charts hot scenes. Plenty of drama and lots of steam. I liked it.
Reading this book, I was not sure who the main characters were. Was it David and Natalia or Marcus and Sasha? Both their stories were just as sexual as the other, although I confess that I was drawn more to David and Natalia. I would have loved to read just their story and then later Marcus and Sasha’s. Overall a worthwhile read.
First things first - they weren’t kidding when they labelled this as erotica. There’s smut and then there’s SMUT. The sex scenes were spicy, consensual, slightly kinky, very hot and extremely fun to read.
As a whole, I did struggle to really connect with any of the characters and their storylines. I think the ideas were there, but they needed a little more fine tuning.
I really appreciated seeing the development of Sasha and Marcus’ relationship - the patience and respect to work through the past trauma was refreshing to read.
The major drama near the end seemed like a cheap way to create a more interesting plot line, which was a shame. I also felt like the ending was quite rushed, as though all the time, detail and effort went into the sex scenes, and the character arcs and storyline’s were a last thought to give the book note substance.
Overall, this was a quick, steamy and fun read, but not one I will be returning to in the future (for the story, that is, wink wink).
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc of this book. All opinions expressed are my own. I am rating this book 4 stars.
I enjoyed reading Crashing to a Halt by Alice Raine. It was a good read that followed several couples all linked with Club Twist. Natalia was a bartender at David’s club and develops feelings for him. Unbeknownst to David, Natalia has similar interests as him and they hit it off very quickly. While the reader also reads about Sasha and Marcus’ storyline and their relationship connection deepens as they work through some of Marcus’ past.
This book contains quite exciting content and makes or a pleasant and encouraging read. It incorporates the concept of Erotica and includes other facets which make for a thoroughly entertaining read. I certainly would recommend . I enjoyed reading it and highly encourage others to have a read and make their own observations on the novel content. Congratulations to both the author and the publisher on such a great novel.
Highly entertaining story with complex relationships and lifestyles. Great read and highly enjoyed reading this book.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion..
Wow this book ended way too soon. Natalia and David dance around each other at first and both have a hard time expressing what they are feeling.
As they work more together the attraction grows and they take the leap in a relationship however there is trouble ahead.
Is someone after her or is the destruction because of another source?
I was ok with the story including Marcus but since I didn’t read the previous book it was hard to connect with their story but it was an overall great read.
