The second hook in tree cowboy series was a sweet read. A second chance romance for Cody and Stevie that had been in the making since high school. After returning to their hometown Stevie who is a veterinarian has commitment issues because of Cody breaking her heart in high school. This was a cute small town read. I’m hoping there will be a third book in the series

I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book

Cody Ryan broke Stephanie (Stevie) O’Dell’s heart way back when they were teenagers. She’s never gotten over it while he apparently has. Seeking shelter from an unexpected blizzard lands both of them in the same barn. When they’re rescued days later, Stevie still can’t get home so she’s forced to stay on the Sunflower Ranch in the bunkhouse. With Cody. Stevie recently lost her mother and loves and longs for the closeness and support of a family like Cody’s and his family accepts her with open arms.

As the two spend more time together, old feelings start to grow. But just as they’re about to admit those feelings, both are offered their dream jobs of a lifetime. Will they follow their dreams and go their separate ways again or realize even bigger dreams are right in front of them? A sweet second chance story with great family dynamics, small-town gossip and busybodies, adorable animals, forgiveness and a HEA.

I was given an advance copy from NetGalley and the publisher, Forever. This review is my honest opinion.

This was a sweet read. I liked how it was a second chance romance and how the characters met again was them being stranded in a barn together. I love Cody and his family. They are so welcoming and really make Stevie feel at home.
This is the second in the series. I hadn’t read the first book and this is totally doable as a stand-alone I very much recommend reading the first book as it gives more appreciation to the characters who pop up in this book.
The only thing I did not like was that it seem the characters talked very country/ southern. As someone who is not from those parts it was quite hard to take seriously as most people I know and hear don’t talk or say things like that. Maybe the cowboy books I’ve read are very toned down.
Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cowboy or second chance romance!

Texas Homecoming is the second book in The Ryan Family Series, but it is a standalone novel. This is a second-chance romance story set in a small Texas town and Stevie and Cody have both recently returned home to Honey Grove, Texas. Stevie and Cody both find themselves stranded in a barn when a snowstorm hits; they dated in high school and unresolved hurts and feelings from the past hang between them.

Stevie and Cody are both very likeable characters, and Cody’s close-knit family make you wonder why anyone would ever move away from their family! But, they are forced to confront their past, while both are still trying to figure out what the future holds.

This was a really sweet romance about finding a home where you least expect it - in the very place you started out!

While I generally enjoy her books, I found this one difficult to get through and gave up about 1/3 of the way through.

This delightful second chance romance was a sweet read. While I enjoyed the romance between Cody and Stevie immensely, I think I enjoyed Cody's family even more. Reading this book was like a warm hug on a frosty front porch swing! I loved the ranch setting and all of the family meals, talks, and coming to each other's aid. Honey Grove was a wonderful place to get lost in.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for access to this arc.

Thanks to Forever Publishing for the free book.
It was so good to be back at Sunflower Ranch in this second chance romance. I think I liked this one even better than the first book. Stevie is feisty, and I loved reading about a woman that wasn't afraid to speak her mind with any and everyone. It was so refreshing to have the female protagonist be blunt - there are no communication issues in this book! I also enjoyed getting a glimpse into Cody's life and what it's like to come back home after following a dream. These two get thrown into an unexpected situation right away - it was so fun to see how and where their story was going to go.
This series also focuses on families and the love in them. I adore that. They go through disappointments in this book, and Brown shows the reader what it means for family to be supportive in all circumstances. I loved being back with the Ryan family and enjoyed getting to hear about the other family members and their journey in this book, too.

Carolyn Brown has done it again! This is book 2 in The Ryan Homecoming series. Ioved this as much, if not more, than the first one! When Dr. Cody Ryan comes back home to the family ranch after being gone for so long working with Doctors Without Borders, he get stranded in a snow storm alongside his old high school sweetheart, veterinarian Stevie (Stephanie) O'Dell. Things did not end well, and now they're stuck in a barn with no cell service waiting out a terrible storm. Will they be able to get over the hurts of the past and attempt to be civilized to each other? You will not be able to put this down. I was hooked!
Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book to read and review.

A sweet second chance western romance is just what I needed to read.
Stevie and Cody have been in love since they were in high school.
They each went their own way with each to return to handle family issues. They did not expect the connection they felt for each other when they were both back home. The chemistry and connection were as strong as ever.
Stevie and Cody had to over come some past issues they had but then also had to figure out how to deal with new issues that arose.
Toss in a blizzard and the story get very intense and interesting.
The story is written so I felt so much for both and for others in the story.
This book is the second in The Ryan Family Series. This book was as fantastic as the first in the series. I look forward to more in the series.
Thank you NetGalley, Carolyn Brown and Forever for the ARC copy. This is my personal review.

Sweet story about falling in love again.
'Stevie and Cody were high school sweethearts that broke up so each could pursue their own dreams. When tragedy takes each back to their hometown, Stevie does everything she can to avoid spending time with Cody. But a blizzard and some bad luck find the two stranded together, along with some wonderful animals. Their story is a great journey of finding love again, and learning what is important in life.
I received an advance copy of this story in exchange for my honest review.

This is a sweet, second chance romance. Cody and Stevie dated when they were in high school - but Cody ended their relationship when he headed off to college - then on to Medical School and work with Doctors without Borders. Their feelings for each other were extremely strong - and both were considering giving up dreams for the other. But Cody took the steps to break things off - because he was scared of where things were heading. This lead to a 20 year separation between them - that ends when they are stranded in a snowstorm together.

I loved the maturity of both Stevie and Cody. Stevie had been holding on to her anger at Cody for a LONG time - but once they are stuck together - they both make an effort to talk to each other and lay those old negative feelings to rest and move forward. That theme continued throughout the book. I can't tell you how lovely it is to see adults acting like - well - adults!

The one thing is - things did drag a little for me at times. This book does inhabit the real world - where people aren't crazy rich and have legitimate problems - and maybe some of those issues were a bit of a drag on the overall story line. I also did start to feel really badly for Stevie - she did just about hit the limit for bad things that could happen to a single person.

Overall - I did enjoy the book a lot, but it wasn't total love for me - just like!

I received it as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Texas Homecoming returns Carolyn Browns fans to the much loved Sunflower Ranch in a sweet second chance story. High school sweethearts, Cody had broken Stevie’s heart when he broke off the relationship to concentrate on his desire to become a doctor. Veterinarian Stevie has judged all other suitors against Cody…afraid to commit again. An unexpected blizzard brings them back together to face her animosity and his regrets as they struggle to stay alive. It’s a familiar trope, but in Ms. Brown’s capable hands there’s nothing mundane or ordinary in this book. Dialogue is witty, situations ring true, readers get updates on previously spotlighted characters and as is her trademark country music, family and good old Southern cuisine are extolled. It’s a wonderful read! I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

A second-chance romance and the second book in the Ryan Family series, this novel follows Stevie and Cody, a veterinarian and doctor with a long history. Stevie’s been in love with Cody since high school when they dated for a brief time before he left for college. Now, years later, Cody has returned home to his family ranch in Texas after traveling the world working with Doctors Without Borders. During a blizzard-like storm, Cody and Stevie are both caught in a neighbors barn and have to hunker down together with a collection of furry friends and survive the storm. But can they survive the feelings that resurface after so many years apart?

Stevie and Cody have a lovely second-chance romance! It’s clear from the start that there is unfinished business between the two, and their chemistry is strong from the moment they reconnect. So much time has passed, and there are many old feelings that they need to address, especially since they were on different pages when they broke up as teenagers. I don’t think Cody realized just how heartbroken he left Stevie until he returns and reconnects with her. It’s great to see them break down the walls they’ve put up and find each other again.

I also really love the strong messages about family. Cody has a wonderful family, and their bond is so strong. This is a family that supports and loves through the thick and thin, and they always have each other’s backs. This warm family is just what Stevie needs, as she is grieving the loss of her mother and misses the close family connection. The messages about love and family show just how important both are to the protagonists, and they are a great complement to the love story. Both Cody and Stevie returned to their hometown to help with sick parents, and it is back in their hometown where they find themselves, their connection with their family, and each other again.

Another part of the story I enjoyed was the Texas winter setting. When I think of Texas, I usually think of hot and sunny weather. However, this is Texas in the winter, and a nasty snowstorm has shut down the area. It’s interesting to see the state from a different perspective than I expected. Also, the blustery, cold weather is a nice contrast to the chemistry that sparks between Stevie and Cody.

The animals are another fantastic addition to the story. Stevie is a veterinarian, and she is gifted with animals. Nurturing, compassionate, and experienced, she is a wonderful doctor and caretaker. And the animals are priceless and adorable. I feel like these animals offer some powerful messages about trust, love, adaptability, and found families, which is really interesting.

Though this is the second book in the Ryan Family series, it can totally be read as a standalone. That being said, it’s a wonderfully heartwarming series that I recommend to readers of contemporary romance. Thanks so much to Forever, Netgalley, and the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the eARC of this book. I did not realize it was #2 of a series until I read other reviews. Not having read the first in the series did not detract from the story. While the first book might have explained the backstory, this story stands on its own with great characters. It’s a story of second chances. I always feel drawn in to Mrs. Brown’s books and hate to see the last page come up. She has quickly become a favorite author for good, clean, heartwarming stories.

A sweet second chance contemporary western romance
Stevie was in love with Cody since high school, but he had big plans. She went on to Veterinarian school and made a life for herself, without him She returned home to help her mother after a cancer diagnosis...never expecting Cody would also return to the ranch to help deal with his own father’s health issues. Their connection was still strong.
They overcame past issues to become close and also dealt with new ones. Ms. Brown sprinkles this wonderful tale liberally with bits of humor and interesting characters. I recommend it highly for those who love cowboys or second chances. .
I was thrilled to receive an ARC from NetGalley gratis and offer my opinion in the same vein

Forever Publishing Thank You for this new Brown novel!

Sad I haven't read book one to The Ryan Family #1 set so I jumped right into book two here with Texas Homecoming. I will say the characters are different in each book so I don't think it matters which book you start first.

Carolyn Brown has been a favorite romance writer.of mine since reading The Family Journal!
This story is set in Texas.
And we have Dr. Cody Ryan who has ventured the world.
He has finally come back home to Texas to his foster family's ranch that is located in Honey Grove TX!
He wasn't very prepared for the blizzard that touches down and has him hunkered down I some old barn.
He shocked when he sees the beautiful Stephanie O’Dell a veterinarian who he hasn't seen in forever!

After traveling the world, Dr. Cody Ryan has finally come home to his foster family’s ranch in Honey Grove, Texas. But all his time in Doctors Without Borders couldn’t have prepared him for the sudden blizzard that forces him to take shelter in an old barn—or for the shock of watching Stephanie O’Dell yank open that same barn door minutes later. He’s barely seen the gorgeous veterinarian since he returned, so why is she icier than the wind outside?
Why the cold shoulder towards him?

Stephanie.... And most calls her Dr. Stevie who works on Sunflower Ranch taking care of the cattles.
She hasn't forgot how Dr. Cody broke her heart when they teens.
This wild blizzard that has touched down in Honey Grove forces these two together as the storm surges on.
As they build a fire to keep warm..... Will it be the only flame that sparks between the two?
Better yet will they act on these feelings and finally admit it to themselves and to each other?

Brown is just that kind of writer where anything she writes I will most definitely be reading!
With characters that are true to life, and have flaws, weaknesses and traits that are relatable I couldn't help but be completely in love Dr. Cody! I don't know if it was his personality or what but I loved him!.
Everytime I read one of her masterpieces, I am immediately swept away within the pages and I continue to be there until the end!
I loved it! And can't thank you enough for this eARC!
