Book number 8 in the Joe DeMarco series, shows that Lawson knows exactly what thriller readers want to read. Overall, it’s a well-crafted read with commendable strengths. The character development is particularly noteworthy, adding depth and relatability that make the story resonate. The narrative pacing is thoughtfully balanced—engaging without feeling rushed or overly drawn out—allowing the plot to unfold naturally. While it may not top my list of all-time favorites, it’s a satisfying and worthwhile read.
