A sinister plot and finding the answers will definitely have your biting your fingernails throughout the book!

"One Last Kiss" by Kat Martin is a passionate and heartfelt romance that will tug at your heartstrings, leaving you with a warm and contented feeling.

In order for Libby to gain her inheritance from her grandfather which relatives are very upset about she must live and work on the ranch for a month which she has not been back to since she was a girl. Her modeling carer took off and took her to many places but not back to her grandfather who took her in when she needed a place. Rancher Sam Bridger had agreed to help his friend before he passed to help his granddaughter. He of course was not expecting a beauty or her to get into work. A three-day trip into the backcountry gets them closer but he also finds out that someone is trying to kill her and that will not happen on his watch. A good story with good characters.

Good and interesting storyline but a little too much male centered sexual scripting throughout for my tastes

I enjoyed this novella. It was a good start to kick off a new series. I'm excited to read more from it.

One Last Kiss is another short read by Kat Martin. This is the first book in the Blood Ties series. It's fast paced and I'm giving the book 3.5 stars.

Sam and Liberty start out as opposites, but when Libby begins remembering long dead memories of her early family life, both begin to realize that they have a lot in common. The cast of characters brings added interest to a nice easy read for those who love romantic endings. I would even be interested in another “Sam and Libby” story. Liberty (Libby) Hale must live in a Colorado ranch for the summer to collect the inheritance of her late uncle. Sam Bridger owes the Circle B Ranch and has agreed to employ his good friend's niece for the summer in return for fifty thousand dollars.

The Circle B acts as a dude ranch for paying guests and a trio of bank robbers have taken refuge at the ranch. Sam and Libby must work together to save themselves and the ranch hands.

This story had a few twists that kept it from being a typical rancher/damsel in distress story. I enjoyed the book!

This is a very light and short read by Kat Martin.

Colorado rancher Sam Bridger agrees to do a favor for a friend who has recently passed away. He agrees to have his friend's niece, Liberty Hale, work on his ranch for 6 weeks. He gets help but Liberty will have access to her uncle's fortune. But looks are deceiving and Libby turns out to be much more than just a beautiful face. Libby hadn’t imagined her boss would be a nice and sexy cowboy and the ranch would be as enjoyable as it is. As life at the ranch begins to burn away her grief, Libby and Sam’s attraction to each other starts to sizzle. When one of the ranch’s guests takes an unhealthy interest in Libby, Sam and Libby find out just how important they are to each other. I loved this story and the happy ending.

This novella started off strong with a good premise but then it just became so predictable I skimmed the end of it. The plot was predictable and I honestly did not like the whole “pretty heroine gets attacked by a man because he finds her pretty” plot line.

Our heroine is a city girl with a city life until her uncle’s will states that she needs to spend time working on a ranch for a month to claim her inheritance. Our hero has been saddled with this city girl on his ranch and fully intends to make sure she works, he just never expected to fall for the city girl.

I’m always complaining about the pace of novellas as to me it seems hard to hit the sweet spot- this one started slow then at about 3/4 way through sped through so quickly with a suspense plot line (kind of out of nowhere) I got whiplash. The main characters started off their relationship growing but then it was BAM love in a couple of days and didn’t feel realistic at all. Overall I was really disappointed.

Wow, for a novella this one is packed full of goodness. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The romance, suspense and action are perfectly woven together to create an amazing story. I look forward to the rest of the series!

Romantic-Suspense novellas are a lot of fun. They are quick, have a fast, hot romance and a suspense plot. Kat Martin writes a really,really good one. As an intro to her new series, we get to see a wonderful setting and meet some great characters. I can recommend this novella, and look forward to the full release soon.

This book flew by!
Liberty’s favourite uncle has recently died and in order to qualify for her part of his inheritance she has to spend a month on a ranch working as the staff… unpaid. Doesn’t sound too tough but for a makeup model who is a big city girl it could be challenging to be without all her mod cons. She’s supposed to stay with an old friend of her uncles and she can’t think of anything worse.

So it’s quite a surprise to Liberty that when she arrives with her countless pieces of luggage, her uncles friend is a lot younger and Amit more handsome than she envisaged. Given she doesn’t date she doesn’t think it will be an issue and once she settles in to the ranch it seems things will go swimmingly.

This book is a romantic suspense of sorts. I figured the suspense might relate to people trying to sabotage Liberty from inheriting but it’s something completely different and more left field. And totally unrelated which didn’t really gel. The suspense and action was quite quick and short lived and then immediately there was an ending. I think the entire book spanned two weeks with not a great deal of development from beginning to end.

This is a very fast read that I quite enjoyed. I liked the main characters. It’s a novella so the storyline isn’t in depth. The description of the setting had me feeling as though I was in the mountains with the characters camping. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. Not generally a reader of romances but being a CO girl myself, I always like books that are set in my home state. Not much to say "this is Colorado" but I really did enjoy the story. Libby, NYC model, who was raised by her Uncle Marty after her parents died is used to the rich life. When Uncle Marty dies he inexplicitly requires that she can only get her inheritance only after she spends one month working on his friends dude ranch. She is not at all happy about doing this but her only other option is to forego her portion of his vast wealth. She takes a private jet and 5 suitcases to get this silly requirement over with. Enter Sam Bridger, the owner of the ranch she's to work. Initially he is as unimpressed with her entitlement as she is with this cowboy.

I'm sure from there you can guess where this goes. But it is not without a good chunk of action (more my style). This novella had it all. I'm actually going to have to check out next two in the series.

A great storyline for a novella. New series! Can't wait for more.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. I really enjoyed the characters and wished the story would go on.
Liberty receives news that in order to get her inheritance she needs to spend time on a ranch in Denver. Little did she know her Uncle had planned this as he knew she would fall in love with the ranch and possibly a certain cowboy.
Danger lurks near by though unknown to the guests and staff at the ranch. One of them has an eye for Liberty as well and not in a good way.
Great read and would definitely recommend this author.

This is the beginning of a new series by Kat Martin that will have readers excited or book 1.

The characters jump off the pages as Libby is trying to figure out her new world with an inheritance hanging over her head. Spending her life in the city coming to a ranch isn't what she expected.

Sam Bridger is you rancher who can't stop from falling in love with Libby but when things take a quick deadly twist readers will figure it out but love every second as Sam and Libby get to know each other in this short Novella.
