A great story about second chances. I love when things are not all they seem. Clare and Zac have an interesting journey ahead of them . A good story!!
All the hurt that Clara and Zach have gone through is the result of a bad trick life played on them. But as they mend their hearts we get a fun, romantic and easy read full of family love. These 2 characters and their stubbornness make things so interesting that it will have you hooked and wondering what the truth will be in the end.
I love LP Dover! LP never disappoints. Another terrific story that had this reader turning the pages!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
While Clara is away with her best friend in Paris, she receives some devastating news. While trying desperately to speak to Zach about the situation, she is left with no response from him in any way. She is devastated once she realizes he has gone to college without her ending their relationship, so she decides to stay in Paris a little longer. Laugh out loud moments galore ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had to dnf this book after a few chapters. I just couldn’t connect with any of the characters and the story overall from what I’ve read just wouldn’t hold my attention at all unfortunately.
I thought that this was an excellent story!
The characters were strong and really well developed and there was some great interaction between them – I really enjoyed getting to know them as the book progressed, they have great personalities!
I flew through the pages, it was very well written and it had a great flow to it.
It was a romantic and sexy read – and I loved it!
It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended!
After 12 years of a break up, Zac and Clara are reunited at a charity event. Each thinking they other betrayed them it wasn’t the best reunion. Being basically forced to spend time together, will they come to a conclusion of what really happened and move on? I did like the banter of both characters. There was comedy and romance in this second chance story.
I received this ARC for an honest review.
A story that begins with two young high school sweethearts with big plans for their future together. Before it is to happen Clare’s mother sends her to Paris with a friend for her graduation present. While there she receives a call from a friend back home in Wyoming and then a picture with a girl arm and arm with Zac, her boyfriend. Calling and calling his phone while leaving messages she never heard back from him. She finds out that he has left for New Orleans their plan before she left without her, now wondering what to do her mother comes up with a plan, and with her friend who wants to break into modeling she uses Clare’s mother contacts to do just that.
Twelve years have passed and she is a high-profile publicist for the rich and famous in San Francisco. He is an artcutech, each successful in their own fields. She comes home because she finds out about her father's cancer and takes over the fundraiser auction that her family holds every year. This year though instead of her father she is the family member. During the auction for her, the bidding gets higher and higher and before her father can get someone to raise the bid she is sold to none other than Zac.
Zac feels like she dumped him because his family did not have the money like her family and that was the reason she stayed in Paris. So when she comes to work at his ranch her first day is bad, though she does the work. He is a little mean to someone who is supposed to have been in love with her at one time. She does get back at him a few days later when he wants his weight room painted which I thought was a good touch. It goes like this for a while until the moment comes when she finds out what happened that day so many years ago. What really hurts her though was the people who were involved that changed her life, now you have to read this wonderful story to find out what happens. A good book with good characters and a good story worth the read.
I love L.P. Dover's books and this was no exception. It is actually one of my favorites! Second chance romance is my favorite trope and I loved Clara and Zac's story. If you like contemporary romance with a dash of suspense, pick this one up!
I usually love Leslie and her writing but this was not writing for me or her usual. If you like second chance romances laced with explicit sex and some profanity, you might enjoy this book. The "double Drews," miraculous conception, and cookie cutter plot lower my rating to two stars overall. I long for the days of her Second chance series and this just didn't make my list.
4.5 Stars
Loved this classic second chance romance story! Zac and Clara were torn apart when they were young. First true love never left them but they tried to get over each other. Now there is opportunity for revenge and Zac takes it Little do they both know that true love recognizes it's matching heart. Love is love and we can't do too much to muck that up.
I love both main characters. Loved the humor the author sprinkled into the story. I got really irritated with all the folks who had been trying to keep these two apart. The secondary characters may have you throwing your kindle at some point! I love second chance romances at the point the characters realize they messed up and couldn't possibly imagine living without this person again.
Huge fan of the author and love that the publisher is having stories written in the Boudreaux world. It was great to see them in this story!

"I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own."
I would like to thank the publishers and NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book.
This book took me through every kind of feels and horniness. I loved this small town and wouldn't mind visiting it again because this was an entertaining read and it kept me hooked till its last page. I loved couple's banter and how they tried to prank each other as well because the tension and chemistry (love, lust and sex) is so fascinating even in my sleep. Can't stop recommending it to readers.

Second chance romances are one of the best to read. Zac and Clara had always planned on being together. But someone had other plans. one misunderstanding had changed everything. fate has a way of bringing things back where it's supposed to be. For Clara she only went back because her Dad was ill. helping him and spending time with her parents was all that she planned. Zac still has carried the torch for Clara and with her dad being with drawled from the auction and Clara taking his place he knew he needed to bid on her. the antics between the two had me laughing and wanting to know where this was going to lead between the two of the,. I had always hoped that true love would prevail and they would end up together. amazing story for me.
I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an independent review.
Quick, easy to read, lighthearted romance. I liked the characters but felt the story was a little bit rushed and predictable.
Good beach read.

Thank you NetGalley, L.P. Dover and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the copy of The Truth About Secrets. This is my personal review.
Zac and Clara have known each other for years. Life has a way of tossing things in their paths and they each go their separate ways.
Twelve years after the last time they saw each other they meet up. The sparks and chemistry are still there but will they get together as they had planned?
There are so many things happening in this book- lies, secrets, revenge and second chances.
The author did a wonderful job of pulling me in to the story from the very beginning.
It's been 12 years since Clara has returned to her hometown. Temporarily leaving behind her prestigious PR job catering to the rich and famous, her goal is to help her father battle his cancer diagnosis. When she volunteers to be auctioned to help bring donations to the hospital, she never imagined her ex Zac, the boy who broke her heart, to be the top bidder.
When Zac hears that Clara is back in town, he makes it his mission to plan on his revenge for having his heart broken by her. When he wins her at the auction, he puts her to work on his farm, loving every second of her discomfort and anger. But that all changes when he discover the real reason why she's in town. Maintaining cordial pleasantries is hard, especially since they still secretly have feelings for each other. What happens when the truth comes out about how they were both deceived to be kept away from each other?
I love second chance romances and this one did not disappoint! It wasn't due to lack of communication, since they both tried to get in touch with each other. It was the work of other people determined to keep them apart. Both were robbed of 12 years. With all the time that has passed and now living on opposite sides of the country, can they make it work? I'm a big fan of this author's books and loved seeing previous characters in this book. Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you Netgalley and Victory Editing Netgalley Co-Op/L.P. Dover LLC for the opportunity to read this book.
The Truth About Secrets is a bittersweet, second-chance romance. It’s sexy, well written, and an all-round lovely read. Zac and Clara are fantastic characters with such amazing chemistry that even when they’re seeking revenge on each other, it’s hilarious. I loved this book!
Sweet
An emotional and amusing second chance love story with an unexpected ‘villian.’
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
So... While I liked the plot, I didn't like the book.
The main reason was that everything doesn't need to be explained. Some things can be left to the reader and the reader can come to the conclusions. I don't like being spoon fed all the information.
Also it just really struck me how the protagonist was so rich and just had it so easy! Not saying that people like her don't exist or don't have their story to tell, but characters like that do tend to seem one dimensional
