The sexy, single, bar working mother, meets the ranch owner.
He offers her a job to bring his new 'venture to fruition.
They dance around their mutual attraction, until they don't and it's full steam ahead on both the personal relationship and the business front.
With a happy ever after ending, in this romantic story of love, family, commitment and marriage.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Teegan an Fox. They meet in a bar, she was a bartender and he was a customer. He needed a manager and he ask Teegan to come work on his dude ranch. They both had some issues but together they worked through them and fell in love.
I love everything I've read from Leslie north so far. That's why it comes as a shock that I just couldn't get into this one. It ended up as a did not finish. I've put it down a few times, and picked it up again thinking timing was off. But sadly no. I just don't think this is a book for me.
This book probably had a more interesting backstory for the hero than many. Having a socially awkward man who had been bullied as a child made for a more developed character than these stories tend to have. I liked that he wasn't this perfect charming ladies man. And I loved how quickly he took to Sam and was willing to change some things (like getting a dog) because he thought it would make him happy. I wish I could say I liked Teegan as much as I liked Fox. She was really good for him in that she was more outgoing and got him to open up a little more, but she never really seemed to care much about his feelings. She knew about his insecurities from childhood but didn't seem to be willing to consider things from his perspective. The way she talks about working in the bar, it was no wonder he got worried she would eventually get bored with ranch life. And then she got mad at him when he didn't immediately like her ideas for ranch. And to top it all off - she didn't bother to introduce him to her friends when they came to the opening day event. When he points this out to him later she brushes it off like it was something he shouldn't be so upset about. She blames everything on him when she runs away at the first sign of trouble. I still think she should have been the one to have to make the grand romantic gesture to win him back.
As usual another brilliant romance from Leslie North. Fast becoming one of my favourite authors and never fails to deliver. Loved the premise and the characters in this book.

Liked this one, as it felt a bit more full of characters than some I've read. A bit of a serious tone at times, but that's fine. Liked Fox and Teegan and sweet little Sam was darling. Would recommend, especially for a good summer read.
When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. This one took by surprise!
Rancher’s Sexy Single Mother was a fun Summer read. The story is about a rancher trying to start a dude ranch despite his bad luck. He hired Teegan, an attractive bartender, to be his ranch manager. I like their banter and that their story doesn’t have a nice, neat bow. It was a realistic love story that was fun to be a part of.
Thank you NetGalley and Relay Publishing for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
4/5 stars
Fox and Teegan were a fun couple to read about. Fox wasn’t a smooth talker and often put his foot in his mouth which made him that much more lovable. Teegan was an independent mom who had her priorities straight. She also didn’t take any crap.
I really enjoyed seeing this couple grow and learn about love. Teegan’s son Sam was such a fun addition to the story. I loved watching him and Fox become friends.
There wasn’t any drama with anyone outside but Fox and Teegan and their differences. Which was refreshing. I also enjoyed the added regency novels that Teegan enjoyed. It was a fun twist to the story.
I wish there had been a little more conflict between her ex and Fox. Just to give the relationship a few more caveats. Overall really enjoyed the book!
I thought this book was a bit more serious than the others I have read by Leslie North. Still a great novel, and always a pleasure to read.
I really liked the premise of this book -- cowboy and a single mom. The dude ranch things was cool. The characters were interesting but I really didn't like the drama that causes them to be apart (not a spoiler -- it's a standard romance trope). The grand gesture was pretty great though.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Relay Publishing through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, Relay Publishing.
