I loved this book! As a beginner to tarot I need all the tips, tricks, & explanations I can get. This didn’t disappoint and would recommend it to the beginner like me and also the seasoned tarot reader.

Tarot is something that I really enjoy learning more about. I feel that no matter what I know, I can always learn more. I enjoyed reading about each card and it's meaning. Diving into shadow work and learning how to incorporate tarot into my everyday life.

This was a great tarot book and I really thought it did a great job explaining everything. I think people who know tarot or are learning will appreciate it.

Sasha Graham helped renew my love for tarot with The Magic of Tarot! This is an excellent book for beginners to advanced- we are always learning. Great tips and tricks throughout and I love the witty banter- it felt like sitting and learning with a friend.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this! A combination of Thoughtful and engaging, Sasha’s perspective on tarot and the stories she tells throughout really spoke to me on a deep level. If you’re interested in bringing tarot into your magical practice this book is for you.

Took a long time to get through, and I don't think it was really the resource for me. I was reading it before actually having any cards of my own and maybe that was part of the issue, especially since once I did the book was written by the same author and I really meshed with that guidebook.

The magic of tarot by Sasha Graham is a wonderful book book for any beginner tarot reader. I enjoyed how the sections were separated and the chapters were informative. I like how each card has a journal prompt to help the reader connect with the cards. The magical aspects of each card is also added for ideas in use as a spell addition. I recommend This guide for anyone interested in improving their abilities and spell craft.

Five Stars! I’ve always been interested in Tarot and occasionally read cards, but I’m definitely a novice at it, so I always jump at the chance to review a Tarot manual. I loved the sort of conversational tone and almost intuitive approach of The Magic of Tarot. It was easy to understand the role of each of the cards, and I know I will be putting the “cheat sheet” section to good use during my studies. The author has included many journaling prompts, which even if you aren’t much of a journaler (like me) are definitely food for thought. This book is a perfect place to start for beginners with Tarot. But even if you have been reading for a while, this is still a valuable addition to your bookshelf.

I did not like this book very much. It was one of those books that was “you need to do it my way” and “you should believe as I do”. I was excited to read this but it was a huge let down. I would not suggest this book to others.

I have always found myself curious about Tarot. Being taught from a young age that even allowing someone to do a reading for you would invite demons into your life, it was something I gazed at adoringly from afar. I have slowly been dipping my toes into the tarot pool and have really liked what I am finding there. This author really captures it in such a fresh way. She calls herself a story teller, which makes sense as that is really what tarot is about. It's about seeking answers while also unveiling things hidden from even yourself. It's a quest to fully understand the meanings of the cards and where their appearance can help to lead you. Four stars from this reviewer, and I highly recommend this for anyone even simply curious about Tarot or even more experienced readers.

I read through the book in order to write this review, but this is a book to read and take your time. In addition to the diverse amount of material, the author provides various exercises, writing prompts, and rituals to try out. You can do all of them, or you can pick and choose what works for you. If you already do magic with your Tarot practice, this book might offer a new idea or two for your repertoire. If you would like to add magic to your practice, but you are not sure how to start, then this book can be a good starting point. It offers a lot of options and ideas, certainly enough to get you started.
The author's writing is warm, interesting, and engaging. Often I wanted to linger reading a specific passage here or there. There is no heavy esoterica nor are you required to bring prior knowledge. This is a book for anyone interested in learning. A strength in the book is the author explains things in simple language and clear manner. This is not just a book for learning. This book is a joy to read.

For very advanced Tarotistas this book may be too basic. For the rest of us, this book offers a lot of information and value in an accessible way. For readers interested in expanding their Tarot practice, this book offers options. For the beginner seeking to start, this book is a solid option to start learning and setting foundations.

This is a book I would gladly recommend for libraries with Tarot, cartomancy, and other esoterica collections. If you have clients who do Tarot or want to learn, this is a good selection for your library. This is a book I would buy for our library.

Overall, I really like this book. It is a book I would love to have on my cartomancy shelf, and I will get it in print as soon as I can.

I truly enjoyed this book about tarot. It is so much you can do with tarot and here you have great information about how you can use it for guidance, magic, in your every day life and so on.
I loved it and so happy I was able to read it and I truly recommend it to every one who read tarot.

How pleased you’ll be with this particular tarot guide likely depends on what type of information you’re looking for.

If you’re seeking the basic how-to’s of tarot then this is a good resource. It is a thorough, detailed, and easy to parse guide. Graham explains each and every facet of the deck with painstaking specificity, and for those new to tarot, her style and information are approachable and easy to learn from.

I wasn’t as fond of this guide from a philosophical standpoint. For other readers, this will depend largely on where you’re at on tarot stylistically and what your belief system is.

For me, this book was waaaay too woo woo in that regard. As soon as I read “if there are cards that scare you, take them out!” I rolled my eyes and knew that this author and I were not of the same philosophical bent and that I wasn’t going to get anything out of a lot of the more nuanced and interpretive content in this book.

That said, if you like the woo, you’ll probably find this one very much to your liking.

This book was an easy and fun read, that can be read in one sitting. Good for beginners. Writing was a little over the top but informative

I absolutely loved this book. I also love the author as her Tarot deck was the first one I ever got and is my favorite one. This was absolutely everything I could have asked for when looking for a book to learn more about tarot. I have read a few things on tarot and I really want to learn more, this book was the perfect thing. It is just absolutely chocked full of information that I am sure it would be amazing as a reference book to keep on hand even after an initial reading. I really can’t even begin to tell you just how much amazing information is stuffed into this book, just know that it is everything you could need to get a firm introduction to the who, what, where, when, why, and how of tarot.

I felt that this book was just so magical. Maybe that was because for the majority of my time reading I had my tarot cards out or it could have been the dream-like writing style, I don’t know. Just be aware that this book reads in a very interesting way. That could also be due in part to the massive amount of journaling prompts sprinkled throughout the book. I personally don’t journal as I just can’t but for people who do, I imagine you could fill up a whole journal with the prompts and exercises in this book. They looked really solid to me.

Another thing I loved was the comprehensive explanation of the cards and their meanings in the latter third of the book. That section has so much potential as a study aid and reference spot. For the major arcana cards, it explains each card’s: archetypal understanding, occult meaning, fortunetelling meaning, shadow side (reversal), magic, and astrological influence.

If this is not enough to convince you of this book nothing can. Go check it out.
