The writing style is lively, the characters are sharply drawn and memorable, and the scenes are comical.

Finlay and the nanny, Vero, are quite a team as "hit men" who never do the actual killing and don't even try, but the targets somehow end up dead, and Finlay gets paid for the kill.

Finlay's ex is a jerk, but the kids love their daddy so much, Finlay wouldn't even pretend to take the contract to bump Steve off. The mystery is: who does want him dead?

What kind of women's group is actually a forum calling for hits on awful men? The concept is disturbing. If most of us could get away with murder, we'd have a lot of missing persons and shallow graves.

Meanwhile, Finlay is still writing steamy novels, always under pressure to meet deadlines. Her career as a novelist seems far fetched, but so does everything else in this story, and it's all part of the escapist romp.

I read all of the first book in this series. This one is a Did Not Finish. Maybe I'll come back to this another day. For now, too many other books out there compete for my attention.

This was still good but no as good as the first. I just love Finlay’s character so much. I love the budding love interest and all the crazy adventures. This is a fun series!

If possible, I liked this one even better than the first book. It was intriguing to follow a mystery much closer to home for Finlay, and I just love spending time in this world.

It seemed to go off the rails there for a bit in the middle, but I never stopped rooting for Finley and Vero. And I’m excited to see where their adventures lead them next.

I was so excited when I saw the entire Finlay series was read now.. it’s such a great series and is funny and lighthearted it’s like a cozy mystery and am so grateful I was given the chance to read it.

I am on love!!! I have found another wonderful series that can take me to that place when reading when the world outside ignores you!! Finally and Vero find their selves in a pickle when the requested hit is Finlay’s ex! Oh watch it unfold and find who put out the hit! What a great book!!

Read this book in just two days! I got so wrapped up in Finlay and her escapades that I couldn't put the book down. If you enjoy mysteries with a smile and a laugh, this series is perfect for you. Normally I don't like cliffhangers but this is the exception to the rule. I'm so glad I was given the opportunity to read this series. I can't wait to see what Finlay does next. Finlay and Vero are back and funnier than ever! I swear, this one is more twisted than the first book! Elle Cosimano has a writing style that keeps you reading all through the night! “What will happen next?”, takes on a whole new meaning with this brilliant writer. I’m exhausted! I stayed up into the morning devouring this gem! It’s laugh out loud hilarious and there are no plot holes in all the mayhem! Love her! Love her books! Read this one too!

Plenty of stealthy action, but...🤔

This second book had plenty of action, but, and I can't pinpoint why, it's not a story that kept me glued to it until the end. I had to keep putting it down, read something else or get busy on another project, and then return for another bite. Maybe just too much intrigue and too many twists in figuring out who has decided they want to eliminate Finlay's philandering ex Steven. Every dilemma creates one or two new problems to solve. And it leaves several mysteries open ended.

For me, the best moments both involved Finlay's young daughter Delia. I loved Finlay's dilemma in comforting Delia in the first chapter and the huge scare she suffers when Delia decides to take things in her own hands and get the Tooth Fairy to visit pronto! I wished the children and their antics were a bigger part of the story for more whimsy.

I'll probably continue the series. I just won't expect a quick read.

This sequel did not disappoint! The twist keeps you on the edge of your seat. I don't know how you make murder fun but this series is hilarious! It is absolutely binge worthy.

I absolutely love the Finlay Donovan series. This book reads like a comedy caper and I always picture a girly Ocean’s Eleven type cast. These would make for super fun movies. I enjoy the Hijinks and the fierce friendships that develop between the women. Love this addition to the series.

Such a fun read even when some of it was a bit silly. I’m hooked and will read every single Finlay Donovan and Veronica Ruiz book! Please keep these books coming!!!
