I received an advance copy of, Colorado Christmas Magic, by Caitlin McKenna. Charley is a bit of a scrooge, she is sent to a small Colorado town, St. Nicholas home of the Scrooge legend. Also in town, is her ex Jack. Will this be Charleys best Christmas?

I really liked the concept of this story. Second chances can be a great read. Jack and Charly were totally in sync and the fun facts were great. Surprise ending too.

Colorado Christmas Magic by Caitlin McKenna is a sweet, heartwarming, holiday story that takes place in the magical town of St. Nicholas, Colorado. Colorado Christmas Magic has a strong Hallmark Christmas Movie vibe, and I believe it’s a perfect story for a holiday movie.

Charley writes a blog for Authentic Lifestyles called the Cold Hard Truths. After she writes a blog post complaining about Christmas, she is mysteriously sent an invitation to visit S. Nicholas, Colorado for a one-week, all-expense-paid vacation just before Christmas. She is immediately wary of the invitation, but goes to St. Nicholas, and suspects the invitation is some kind of fraud that she is determined to uncover.

Detective Jack Brody is assigned to check out the Scrooge legend in St. Nicholas after a fellow detective comes back and is “changed” after his visit. His boss, wants him to find out what is going on in the town that has changed his fellow detective and his brother.

When Jack and Charley meet they are surprised as they were high school sweethearts back in Los Angeles. So, what a coincidence that they meet up in the magical town of St. Nicholas.

Colorado Christmas Magic was a fun, quick read, with an interesting plot, and some mystery. The town of St. Nicholas was just a bit too cutesy for me, but I did enjoy some of the characters in the town. I thought Jack and Charley has some good chemistry between them and was happy to root for them to get together. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Bah Humbug journalist Charley Dawson and detective/ sceptic Jack Brody both end up in St. Nicholas, Colorado. Both want to debunk the legend of Scrooges coming to town and the magic working on them so they leave as Christmas enthusiasts who’ve had their secret wishes come true. Jack and Charley fell in love as teenagers but were torn apart when Jacks family moved to Denver. As they experience the magic they are trying to debunk they come back together.
This is a sweet and engaging Christmas tale with no overtly sexy parts to offend certain readers. The story has enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. I would recommend this book to my patrons but am not sure it fits in my budget.
