Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

''The tragedy of someone leaving has been the definition of my life.''

Damn, I don't know where to start. It just that more than half of these poems hit really close to home. Although this was too long, I really enjoyed all its chapters. I would've liked a ''Self-Love'' chapter, though.

Being this the first book from Najwa that I've read, I'll be certainly checking out her others! Loved her poetry.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an e-arc in exchange of an honest review.

This is a lovely book of poetry and prose from Lebanese-Canadian author Najwa Zebian. This was the first book of hers that I have read. I had heard about Mind Platter, but have not yet read it. I now plan to go back to the beginning and read all of her books.

The book is broken down into different sections for different stages of healing. The poems are well-written and relatable. They are highly impactful. This was just what I needed. This book helped me feel at peace with life and living in the moment.

Thank you for the opportunity read and review this title.

This is an amazing poetry book about healing and forgiveness -- not forgiving others because they deserve it, but because you need it in order to heal. It talks about trusting life and knowing that things will come to you in the right moment. I enjoyed reading this book so much, it made me feel at peace with myself. Rating: 5/5 stars.

This large collection of poems in “ The Book of Healing” by Najwa Zebian are both inspiring and healing as the title suggests! These are poems that the reader will want to bookmark and come back to time and time again! Favorite chapters for me are: Hope, Gratitude, Letting Go, and Finding Happiness for I found myself coming back to specific quotes to comfort me. Such a wonderful book for everyone hurts, struggles, loves, and survives!

4.5 ⭐

Thanks to Netgalley for this book in exchange of an honest review

As with "Mind Platter" I really enjoyed the book. The author's words and way of writing makes you feel everything.

I didn't rate the book with 5 ⭐ just because I didn't like the first chapter. That is, I didn't feel anything reading the first chapter. However, the next chapters were so touching.

Many thanks to Andrews McMeel publishing & NetGalley for the ARC!

Walking that famed difficult line, this was a collection that was undeniably accessible without over-simplifying its message or breaking the flow of its poetic structure. While I read this book in a day or two (and certainly enjoyed it!), what I would most recommend it for is a “bedside book”. This in no way diminishes the value or quality of the book and isn’t to be confused with a dust-collecting “coffee table book”, or to reduce it to a display. I say use it as much as you can! Annotate it, bookmark it, fold up your favorite pages so you can find them again and again. Read it the way some may read daily devotionals or affirmations and give yourself a snippet or two at a time to absorb before you go to bed or wake in the morning. Read it out of order, even, and skip to the sections that call to you most. I think the book would best serve most readers in such a format and will encourage others to pick it up and spend time with it in this way.
