Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
A Rush of Wings is a lyrical retelling of the Six Swans set in Scotland. While a bit slow to start, the poetic writing and seaside atmosphere will pull you into the story. Featuring a lovely romance, intense magic, and family bonds at the heart of it all, A Rush of Wings is the perfect dark, atmospheric read for autumn.
Stick around for the second half! The first half is a wee bit slow, and feels oddly familiar, but the second half burns hot.
I honestly considered putting this one down before the midway point. Luckily, a friend pushed me to finish because the second half is like an entirely different book. As a bookseller, though, I would have a hard time recommending this story because of the first half.
