This was highly unexpected turn of events. I loved the details of the world building. Raven is ever trying to protect her family but in doing so she is uncovering not only more about herself but her family’s secrets. Now she may have to get more hands on to get her sister back to safety and eliminate threats. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy! I never get sick of Raven and her family.

I would rate this a four out of five. This netgalley Arc was provided in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Maybe 3.25 stars.

It's six years since the last book. raven has grown into her role as Queen of Corvids. There's also been a whole lot of things going on with her siblings in other series that I DID NOT know about. Bane, the Lord of War is still being a nuisance and has managed to engineer/take advantage of circumstances to bind Raven's younger sister Juni his caomhnóir (aka blood-bound guardian). Now Raven's younger sister is bound to her mortal enemy and is demanding that Raven drop the barriers she erected between the Mortal Realm and the fae realms.

Added to which, the trolls have come to seek Raven's assistance to find a missing troll prince, her brother Mike needs help finding a mortal boy who has been kidnapped, possibly by his mother who is estranged from his father. Also Raven's fox family have suddenly developed strange new physical attributes which are somehow linked to the issue which caused Juni to bind herself to Bane.

I love, love, loved the last book in this series. In retrospect t was clearly the finale of the series and this is the start of a new series. Hence this felt (to me) like scene setting, leading to lots of fun facts at the end of the novel but not really action-packed enough or with enough emotion to carry me along.

This is still a great series and I am definitely interested in where it is going next, but I also don't really want to read Raven eulogising about sex with Cole any more.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via Net Galley in return for an honest review.

Raven Crawford is back to rescue her kid sister from her enemy Bane before he forces her to lower the barriers between worlds and put all of humanity at risk.

I had a hard time figuring out what was going on in this book. Although it's been called book 4 (and I read books 1-3) there were some in-between novels featuring Juni and Bear that I didn't know existed and are integral to the plot of this novel. I'm going to set this one aside until I have a chance to read the others in hopes that it will make a little more sense.

Thank you NetGalley for sending this arc for an honest review!

Ok you want honesty? I had no freakn idea this was the 4th book of a series. I went into this so confuzzled and was like at a HUH moment the whole time. I swear to god I thought this was a fantasy standalone and then few pages in everything was just a wtf Moment. Definitely was able to capture the idea of it and to say the least I will go back to book 1 and actually try to undestand it this time .

I have read all the books in this series and this was a good addition. The story is unique which is hard in fantasy books. The powers that Raven has and the family and friends in her story all meld together well. The addition of stories about her siblings is cool. It's not always just about the lead character. The pace of the story kept me reading. It has action with a little romance and snark. I love snark. Great read and looking forward to the next one!

This book takes place after the start of her new series, and has a larger time jump from the last book in this direct series. Juni has started to have her own storyline (the new series) so there are things you won’t know if you haven’t read the books, but there’s enough information given to figure enough out. This time around, we’ve still got cases to help solve, and family to help, but things get a little trickier and more interesting.

I think that this book gives us what we want most from this series- Raven helping solve craziness and protecting family and those who cannot protect themselves. Though a very large part of the book is about Juni and her bond, I feel like this was still Raven’s story. I think it will be interesting to see how they handle those loose threads, and what’s to come in the next story.

Five fabulous stars because this is definitely my favourite book in this series. We've kind of jumped a little way into the future but Raven is still as sassy as always but better yet she's really been taking notes and definitely has a handle on what it takes to be a Queen. Her relationship with Cole in this book was by far more believable than previously and their mutual respect and passion just leapt off the page. Now if only she could wrangle her family but then again that's the beauty of this series because Ravens family dynamics just keep piling on the angst and also admittedly a lot of fun !
Hey you don't need me to rehash the story so I won't but I will say the signs are all there for readers to follow as Raven does what she does best and that's step up and defend those who cannot defend themselves. Definitely my favourite so far and an ending to get you wanting more.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Loved the first 3 Raven books! Now, having said that, I didn't know that this Raven Crawford book 4 is also Crawford Investigations book 7! There is a Bear and 2 Juni books prior to this one. I had not read the 3 middle books. So was very confused going into this one. I got the majority of my confusion cleared up but as a result I really didn't enjoy this book as much as the first 3 Raven Crawford books.
