Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

The story is about Kaylie who works as a investigative reporter, expecting a promotion, just before Christmas, she loses her job as the company is changing owners. But her old boss gives her a story to cover, only he doesn’t give her that much information about this story, apart from she’s covering a family’s Christmas traditions. When she get to the country, she finds that her boss, didn’t tell her, that she’s going to be with a royal family.

The queen, wants Kaylie to write a fairy tale for her princess granddaughter whose 10 years old after learning of the family’s traditions.

The prince, isn’t too happy about her being there(reasons become clear)as the story progresses, but even then, Kaylie feels an attraction to him, but, she talks herself out of it.

Will Kaylie follow the queens orders or will her investigative head find something else to cover or report to her old boss on…….

It was a feel-good story, very Christmassy and one about realising what’s really important to you. The bonus part of this story is that there are recipes at the end for you to try making those dishes enjoyed by the family.

The book could have another one to follow on to be about the other characters, including the main ones, as I felt there’s more to read about them.

I would like to thank NetGalley, HawkTale Publishing and Karen Schaler for an E ARC copy of this book.
This was a lovely read that transported me to another country. I just wanted to be there and experience all that Kaylie did. Kaylie finds herself in Tolvania, a small European country. She is there to write a piece about a local family. However, said family are none other than the Royal family and the story she is to write is a fairy tale for the spunky young princess. As Kaylie learns more about the town, the Christmas traditions it has and is drawn into the Royal family, she learns more about what she is missing from Christmas and what she wants her Christmases to be. It is not only Kaylie that is learning to embrace Christmas again but the Royal family and in particular Prince Alexander.
I loved the characters; the Queen and Princess were lovely and you were drawn to them. The town and the way it celebrates Christmas was well written and described. You wanted to visit it.
Another book to read when all is Christmassy.

I requested to read and review this book for free from Hawktale Publishing. This book has a European setting. This book will get you into the holiday spirit. I can see this book being made into a movie. It's perfect and cute. It had lots of good feels to it. It has mystery, romance and drama! Kaylie is a hard working determined girl to get where she wants to go in life. The queen is a women who knows when it's time to reign and time to relax. The son and grand daughter have had a lot of heartache in life. But does bringing something back bring happy or sad memories
Can bringing back old ideas give way to new ideas. This book can be read by anyone and anywhere.

I wanted to love this book. The premise sounds enchanting, but I found the book feeling distant and dry. I didn’t feel any connection or reason to like the hero or the heroine.

Wow this book really captures the spirit of Christmas and will enchant you. I was spell-bounded from the very first chapter. The story-line is pure genius and characters are wonderful, they have such depth meaning you will instantly fall in love with them. Its air of enchantment and mystery will entrap you and will leave you feeling wonderful. This heartwarming, engaging, page turning tale will warm you through those cold winter nights. i would go as far as saying its the best Christmas book I have ever read and seen as though I usually go through at least 6 a year that's saying something. It was wonderful reading a Christmas story about a royal family that follows the Christmas traditions dating back hundreds of years. Yet the story was told in modern day including a very modern royal family and castle. In truth it is like a modern Cinderella tale wrapped up in a Christmas blanket all toasty and warm with a mug of hot chocolate in front of a nice warm open fire place. The book made me so happy reading it, with my heart filled with love I almost forgot I was actually reading a book, I was living it. I found that the great sense of family love coming from the story made me want the book to never end.

If you are looking for a book that is heart warming tale brimming with Christmas spirit, joy and a real sense of family and community connection. This book is defiantly for you.

I can't praise the author and publishing team for bringing me this fantastic Christmas story and really getting me into the Christmas mood. This book needs to be a film and I can't wait to see it. I will be definitely reading more by this author as it isn't often I get this drawn into a story. I wish it was real and I wish it was me.

A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale is another winner for author Karen Schaler. I’ve enjoyed all her Christmas stories and movies. Yes, the commoner falling in love with a royal may have been done before, but it’s a wonderful Christmas story with just enough twists and turns to change it up from the usual. You’ll want to add this to your Christmas reading list. Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

A sweet fairytale romance set at Christmastime. I loved all the traditions and the setting was perfect. This would make a wonderful holiday movie. The happy ever after was beautifully done.

A beautiful uplifting story of love, family, and the importance of embracing the wonder of Christmas time.

Karen Schaler has done it again. This book is the perfect Hallmark-esque romance. Low to no steam, wholesome family oriented and with a happy ending.
The twist about the royal crown was an added bonus to the storyline which I appreciated as the rest of the book was very predictable and followed the classic Hallmark formula.
The description of the palace and town was fantastic and all of their Christmas traditions have me already thinking about Christmas.
Really enjoyed this one and will be buying it as Christmas gifts this year!

What an amazing read and escapism at its best. This book should be on the big screen, the descriptions of all the Christmas decorations, traditions, village and the castle are superb and I really felt I was there. The characters were wonderful and very relatable. Both Kaylie and the Prince had issues they were trying to work through and both had strong walls built up around themselves. When these two were together you could instantly see the spark, even though they both tried very hard to deny it. Together they bring out the best of each other and add in Princess Anna and they are complete.
This was a magical Christmas read that had really got me in the festive spirit.

Thank you NetGalley and Hawktale Publishing for the opportunity to read "A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale" in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is an incredibly beautiful and moving story that brings to light the importance of traditions in a family, especially at Christmas. How important even the smallest thing can be to build memories.

Kaylie Karlyle is an investigative reporter who never had time for the holidays. When she loses her job and is given a freelance opportunity she takes it and ends up in Tolvania where Queen Isabella has commissioned her to write a special fairy tale for Princess Anna incorporating as many of their family traditions as possible. At first Kaylie isn't happy with this, she doesn't consider herself a "puff piece" writer, she wants to write hard news items but it's hard not to fall in love with Princess Anna and her lovely dog Blitzen - who is an absolute delight throughout the book.

Prince Alexander is suspicious of Kaylie from the first moment they meet. When he learns she's a journalist he is even less pleased to have her at the castle. The Prince's wife Sophia died a few years ago and he has lost her love of the holidays. With the Queen and Kaylie's help he discovers that the Princess needs him to teach her their family traditions.

This is going to be a Christmas classic. it is such a feel good holiday book. There are so many interesting holiday traditions, many that can be tried out at home, along with the delicious sounding recipes. Frank Sinatra's "The Christmas Waltz" is still ringing in my ears. I wish there were more than 5 stars for Ms. Schaler.

Most Christmas novels are pretty predictable so it wasn’t a shock that this one was as well. I’m used to it at this point. But this book was so long just to be predictable. It took a long time to get where we know this is going to go.

The characters are likable though and I guarantee this would make a fantastic hallmark movie once it’s condensed.

What a lovely read! I enjoyed all the characters and found myself rooting for the prince and Kayley to find each other. I only stopped reading to Google upside down Christmas trees to see if it was actually such a thing. The recipes at the end are definitely a plus! I can't wait to try them. I would love a sequel to know how all the characters are doing.

Did I read this in September? Yes. Was it worth it? SO MUCH YES!!!! I’m over here ready to break out my Christmas sweaters and hot chocolate in 90 degree weather because of this book. I want to be apart of this book.

Can this become a New Netflix movie ?!

It was interesting to read about recently made redundant reporter, Kaylie Karlyle's experiencing some of the Christmas traditions of the Tolvania's Royal family but I wanted to know more, perhaps reading this during a mini heatwave in September wasn't a good idea.

I enjoyed meeting the Tolvanian Royal family, Queen Isabella, Prince Alex, Princess Anna and pet dog Blixen but at times it felt like looking from the outside of a snowglobe where the reader was getting a passing glimpse of what was going on, I wanted more details other than repeated mention of Chef Jake's gingerbread pancakes.

I really wanted to like this book more but it was missing that little extra sprinkle of Christmas magic for me.

Thank you to Hawktale Publishing and Netgalley for the eARC.

I received an advance copy of, A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale, by Karen Schaler. I have read other books by Karen Schaler, and loved them too. I thought this book started out too slow, but it got so much better. in the end. Kaylie just lost her job, she receives a mysterious job from her old boss. Kaylie lands in a fairy tale, with a Queen, Prince, and Princess. Most girls love fairy tales, and Christmas fairy tales are the best. Will this be Kaylie's best Christmas ever?

Karen Schaler's A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale was a wonderfully fun read that really got me looking forward to the holiday season. I really enjoyed the plot and felt that the writing kept me engaged the whole time. I liked all of the characters and even though the ending was easy to predict I was happy to see it end that way.

A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale bring you to a sweet, small European country with a royal family you'll fall in love with. Kaylie is hired by the queen to write her granddaughter, the princess, a Christmas fairy tale featuring all of their holiday family traditions. Of course Kaylie manages to find some Christmas spirit of her own while working on this special project.

I enjoyed the quintessential European holiday setting. It definitely made me want to visit a castle and eat some of Chef Jake's gingerbread pancakes! Of course the author does a great job of tugging at your heart strings at the end and I even teared up a little bit!

I did find much of the descriptions repetitive. There was a lot of use of the word "traditions" and other similar phrases that were sometimes distracting to me as I read.

Although you knew what was going to happen in the end it was still a sweet holiday story. Read this one with Hallmark channel on in the background and a mug of hot chocolate!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow this would make such a great Hallmark movie to snuggle up with just before Christmas. Wonderful setting with quaint shops and great characters and an adorable dog. Through in a princess vibe and I’m totally sold. Will re-read once the tree is up at Christmas.
