I really loved this romance and how fast paced it is. The characters were fantastic and the family drama had me interested to find out what would happen next.
This was a sweet book. The characters were quirky and interesting, and the small town well described. I liked the fantasy aspects, it was quick read.
From the publisher: A fanciful coffee shop run by magical women. A barista that’s still trying to figure herself out. And a small town named Windia where the residents are into everyone’s business.
When a stranger shows up in town and puts her family’s coffee shop in jeopardy, Florence Mackenzie has to step in and do something to protect them, whether that’s an Espresso Off challenge, sabotage, or a good old fashioned banishment spell. But after the Mackenize women try to create a buzz by experimenting with a new blend of coffee beans, the residents of Windia suddenly start falling in love with each other. Florence chalks it up to the spirit of the holiday season, but when she starts falling in love (with the competition, no less) Florence starts to wonder if there’s something more bewitching in the air - or in the coffee?
I recommend this book to those that enjoy witchy romances and are looking for a new series to start. I’ll be on the lookout for the next book in the series. 4 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Thank you NetGalley for the free ARC.
This was such a cute and flowy 'enemies to lovers'. I made me want to go and sit in a coffee shop for hours and read it. The author did so well showing Florence's loyalty for her family but also her feelings for the random man her family started throwing sweets at :)
I just couldn’t get into it. I did not finish. Maybe I will try again in a while, but the writing fell a bit flat to me.
This book was a cute romance with some maybe kinda witch elements thrown in. Heavy on the cute romance theme, no smut, but made me smile.
Florence grew up in her family coffee shop on the coast. Coffee is essentially in her veins, so it's no surprise that she works as a barista while away from home. After being fired right before holidays, she is happy to get away to visit family. There is a bit of baggage in her family and their shop, but the holidays offer a chance to escape for a little while. At least she thinks that, until she finds out that a chain coffee shop is looking to buy them out and may challenge a lot of things they took for granted.
So - who is the love interest (of sorts)? Well, none other than the guy looking to buy her out. He really takes a beating with a smile throughout this whole story, which is probably why he is pretty redeemable by the end. If you are looking for a nice, self-contained, holiday themed romance, look no further!
Not really my cup of tea. I struggled to get pulled into this one. Style of prose just wasn’t for me but I’m sure there’s loads of folks out there that would really enjoy this one
Such a cute and fun, easy read for spooky season. Really reminded me of a Disney channel movie. Really loved the characters and the plot itself
Great book! Cozy seasonal read! It was very fun and comforting! This book was excellently written. It’s a great autumn read.
This book delivers what it promises! It is wholesome and warm with a sprinkle of magic! I love how the witch line is not overused, but it is a well developed but subtle aspect all along the story.
I found Samson not that interesting, but I so enjoyed all the other characters! I love that we have a full cast of strong female characters who work together and not against each other.
I don't really care for coffee, but the descriptions of the cakes had me drooling.
Cute story, really liked the main character Florence. Felt a little lost at some points where the story skipped to another character or another point in time. Still worth the read and would definitely recommend for someone looking for light reading
Perfect fall read! I really enjoyed the characters and the development of their romance,. The concept of the book was different and it made it fun to read. I would highly recommend this book for the upcoming fall/halloween season.
Love coffee? Love competition? Love a bit of paranormal activity? Love a bit of romance? Then you are going to love this book too! Be prepared for a lot of laughter and a few tears along the way, brew up a mug of your favorite beverage and settle in to be entertained for hours! Florence has a tendency to run when things become hard to deal with, but this time she has to stand and fight for what she wants, but first she has to figure out what that is before she finds herself standing alone and letting her family down. A great family drama entwined with a funny budding romance that leaves you with a feel good ending! After all there is magic in the beans!
This is a cute book! But to be honest: it did not feel like a romance. The main character Florence is trying to save her family's coffee shop. There is the start of an enemies-to-lovers trope, but it is not executed like expected.
Others might like it because of the witch trope and it has some charm, but it is not for me.
Cute and very enjoyable. Light read. Kept me enthralled. I will admit to giggling a few times. Definitely something I'd do a reread on.
This book is good and easy to read. The thing is, I found Mackenzie clan to be quite childish. Wanting to protect your business, memory of the deceased is not wrong, but their way is just.. immature? Their family bond is admirable which made up to it 💖
Samson is very patience and understanding with them, yet they treat him badly. As for Florence, the one who makes her quit her job is Samson's dad, so I find the grudge is misplaced. Samson didn't have anything to do with her job. Samson is reasonable, caring and understanding; my favourite character in this book.
Also, I'm expecting a full romance book since the description did mention romance, but it's more female fiction with a little romance, which the romance feels flat and rushed. Apart from that, the magic is too little to my liking even though it was hinted that the Mackenzie especially Pearl is a witch. The ending is adorable and quite unexpected 😂
Anyway, this is such a cozy and cute read which other people will surely love and I do enjoy reading it but it wasn't really for me. Would recommend this book to someone who's in need of light and fun read.
Florence McKenzie is preparing to go home for the holidays but gets blindsided by her boss at the coffee shop she works at in Portland. Her boss fires her the day before she's supposed to leave for Windia. This book takes place in Oregon. Florence goes home every year to help at the family owned generational coffee shop called, "The Yurt". This time it's different. A new guy comes to town trying to buy out, " The Yurt" and let's just say the McKenzie woman give him a run for his money or so they believed. Florence and her grandmother,Pearl try to banish him with a banishment spell but it doesn't work. They try to. Banish him after they realize that Samson is not only their competition but he is also Florence's old boss' son. If you want to know how it ends, because I thought I had it figured out but, I was so wrong; READ IT for yourself.
My advice is to get yourself a big old cup of coffee (or tea if preferred) and somewhere cosy to give this book a read.
I really enjoyed the story throughout the book and I found it a cute comfort read. It is definitely a book I would pick up between epic fantasy’s as a sweet little reminder that contemporary books especially contemporary romance are actually amazing!

Loved this romance and how fast paced it is. The characters were great and I loved where the story was located
When Florence Mackenzie is fired from her job as a barista in Portland, Oregon just days before Christmas, she heads home to Windia, a beach town filled with eccentric characters who know each other's business and don’t forget anything. Florence is lost and bereft. But when a handsome stranger rolls into town and plans to open a corporate chain coffee shop that will compete with her family's generations-old coffee shop, she is ready to fight to save her family’s business and her town. Desperate, Florence faces her fears and accepts the magic that is part of her family history. But instead of chasing the stranger, Samson, from town, she finds herself falling for him instead.
This is a super sweet and cozy romance; picture a hallmark Christmas movie in book form. It’s a light and fast read with a quirky cast of characters. Florence and Samson are enemies from the get go: Florence has returned home with her tail between her legs when she’s fired from her job at Sam’s ‘Spresso coffee cart. When she discovers that Sam’s son, Samson, is trying to bring the chain to her small coastal town she’s ready to run him out of town anyway she can - which brings a delightful amount of comic accidents her way. This is a clean romance, much like a Hallmark movie. Don’t expect a lot of physical sparks. While Florence and Samson are super cute together, the book would have benefited from a stronger emotional arc. The enemies-to-lovers trope was a slow burn throughout the book, and readers don’t get into either main character's head. More emotional development would have helped tighten the tension and raise the stakes between Florence and Samson.
This is a book with a strong cast of secondary characters, but we really only get to touch the surface with all of them. This is one novel that could have used some more worldbuilding and more developed backstory to really flesh out the characters motives. I loved Pearl, Florence’s grandmother and matriarch of the family. Pearl is described as being wiccan at the beginning of the novel. While the book is described as a paranormal romance, the magic system isn’t fully fleshed out, and the reader slowly realizes that Pearl is more than a wiccan by the end of the book. I wish we had seen Florence come to this realization of her history and her family magic on page - it’s part of the book that seems to happen off the page.
This is a fast and sweet read. Brew yourself a cup of tea and dig in. The characters are quirky and the story moves quickly. It’s perfect for fans of You’ve Got Mail and The Good WItch.

WItchy Coffee revolves around Florence Mackenzie and her family owned coffee shop. With new competition the Mackenzie women start experimenting with coffee, in an effort to bring in more customers and run off the (charming) enemy.
Set in a small town setting, the story has a very cozy feeling. A quick and easy read, I got through the book quite fast. It also helped that it was enemies to lovers read (who isn't a sucker for those). While is was very predictable, Witchy Coffee was enchanting read!
