Quick and cosy read, I love the setting and the characters. A feel-good romance with witchy vibes, easy and cosy read for a rainy day :-)
Thank you to the publisher who provided me with an e-copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Witchy Coffee is one of those fun Coffee shop AU's that you day dream about. I'm here for it, I adored the authors writing the description of coffee. The town where Witchy Coffee the shop sits at sound's like a writers dream with enough gossip to keep the mind flowing. Overall this was a fund read. 4/5 stars.
This was a perfect read to begin fall season. I loved that the magic was more hinted at and a background to the main story so it didn't take away from everything else going on. Florence and the Mackenzie women were hilarious together. I wish Samson's relationship with his father went in to a bit more detail but loved Samson's character.
Overall I gave this one a 4/5. It was a quick fun read that will be perfect for spooky season when people are looking for magic everywhere.
A fun and feisty book with a romance that is both hot and swoonworthy. I throughly enjoyed this and can’t wait to read more. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance.
3.5: this book was a cute, cozy read that i really enjoyed but left me feeling a bit underwhelmed by the end. it had really good atmosphere with the small town setting in the northwest combined with all the coffee and witchy elements, it was a perfect beginning of fall read. i also really loved the heroine, florence, and her family. i thought their dynamic was super adorable and i just loved seeing this group of women who worked so hard to defend their family's business and legacy. it was sweet!
however, i think this book ended up feeling less like a romance book and more like a chicklit/contemporary fiction novel as the romance was severely underdeveloped. the hero himself felt very flat and boring and the his and heroine's chemistry or connection was nonexistent imo. if you wanna write enemies to lovers/hate to love, you need more sexual chemistry imo, and this just didn't have it. i also think the book's attempts at magical realism with the witchcraft felt kinda forced and wasn't well inserted in. magic elements would just occur at random points and just left me more confused than anything.
overall, this was a cute fall read that i enjoyed and would recommend if you like contemporary fiction, but not so much for the romance.
This book was really cute! I loved the family dynamics and overall atmosphere of the story and the setting, however, the romance storyline fell flat for me. I understood the tension between the two characters, but I felt like it was underdeveloped. Overall, this is enjoyable, but not my cup of tea.
Fanciful...sweet...charming...
A fun little read that just pulls you in. Great to read by a fire with a hot coffee next to you! I hope to see more of the characters and town in the future!
Witchy Coffee by Erin Ritch is cozy and cuddly read, that can lift your festive spirit high! I really enjoyed reading it. It was a simple read with a sweet story.
Witchy Coffee follows Florence Mackenzie as she returns to her home town Windia, Oregon to help at the family coffee shop after being fired from her job. Shortly after arriving, she discovers that another coffee shop is trying to take over... none other than the son of the company that fired her. As Florence try to fight her competition and send him on his way out of town, she also needs to fight her connection towards him. If only fighting your feelings were that simple.
This snuggly holiday romance is perfect to cuddle up with on a cold day with your favorite cup of coffee. The rivalry between the MacKenzie ladies and Sam is laugh-out-loud funny at times and great fun. The mood and scenery settings of Windia is wonderful. I have loved all the characters through out the story and it involves perfect amount of magic in it. This was such a cute story and would make an adorable holiday rom-com film.
The romance was a little flat for me, the characters stated their feelings towards the end but I felt that they weren’t shown or explored throughout the book before then. The romance felt like it just needed more scenes with the love interests interacting and showing the reader the tension or the feelings they were feeling. For a supposed rivals to lovers story it was pretty sudden and flat to me.
The supporting characters shine with bright eccentric warmth, especially Pearl, the wise matriarch with a few magic tricks up her sleeves. More magic would have been welcome as it sometimes felt like an afterthought, but Pearl does her best to interject her unique quirks and rituals when necessary.
Overall, Witchy Coffee was enjoyable, and readers looking for a quick romantic escape with wholesome fun and a twist of magic should give it a try!
This was such a cute read! Even though the majority of this book happens around Christmas and New Year's, it was still helping me to get into a Fall mood with all of its coziness and witchy vibes. Florence loses her job as a barista the day before she was due to travel back to her family home for the holidays. When she gets there she finds out someone (a quite handsome man named Samson) wants to buy out her family's coffee shop but there's more at stake than just their family business. Florence's grandmother, sister-in-law, niece and best friend all join Florence in doing everything they can to show that their coffee shop is the one that the residents of Windia want. Along the way, Florence may have introduced a new coffee blend that cast a love spell over the whole town, but who has time to worry about that! I *loved* all of their kooky events and magical interventions and the intense family love between these strong women. There were some really sweet and touching moments between Florence and Samson that contributed to the overall feel-good nature of this story. This is great for fans of magic, strong women, family and small town charm!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this story!
I really enjoyed the characters in that story. The name of the book really matches the story and its characters.
Overall, it was a really good read, a quick one. I just don't know if you can categorize it as a full on romance. I see it more as a family oriented book with a dash of romance and fantasy.
I would've loved more interaction between Florence and Samson. For the first 50%, I felt like he was just a filter, that he wasn't really part of the story.
Thank you to Negalley for my eARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book was so cozy!!! It takes place around the Holiday time, but I promise you it could be read year-round! The relationship between our main character and her grandmother gives me Hocus Pocus vibes! If you love coffee and Hallmark cozy movies you will love this book!
Witchy Coffee follows the story of Florence who leaves Portland and returns to her hometown of Windia to work at her family’s coffee shop throughout the Christmas holiday season. Upon arrival, Florence finds out that there’s a new rival in town trying to bring a new coffee chain to their small coastal town. It’s a story full of enchantment and other witchy moments along with a strong cast of empowering female characters. This is a quick, fun, and lighthearted read about a family doing whatever it takes to keep their coffee shop afloat with a hint of romance mixed in the middle. I absolutely adored the perfect scenery of the Pacific Northwest and would definitely visit the town of Windia for some of the Yurt’s witchy coffee! I expected the storyline to be more centered around the romance, but I was pleasantly surprised with the storyline that it did follow!
I absolutely loved it.
I found Witchy Coffee quite funny at times and loved the story
Florence finds herself fired from her job at Sam's 'Spresso which is a coffee cart business for something she didn't do....so she does what she does best...she runs away to her hometown of Windia for the holidays.
Maybe she can save up some money working for her grandmother and sister-in-law at the family coffee/bake shop. But it's not all fun and games when she returns home she finds a stranger in a suit knocking on their door wanting to buy The Yurt, family business. But Pearl, Florence's grandmother, isn't selling....but she is hiding a secret from the family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the authors writing kept me turning the pages until the book was finished. The authors writing captivated me from the first page and it reminded me of a cozy mystery without someone being dead.
If you enjoy clean fun books then I suggest you read this one. There is a little mystery and some romance from a strange source.
Highly recommend!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The book has Florence as the main character, firmly placed in her 'witchy' family of coffee - making females. She loses her job close to Christmas and goes home, helping in the coffee shop 'The Yurt' whilst at home. There's plenty of coffee in the novel, and a slice of romance topped off with magic! It's not a very long book, but is fast - paced, going through Christmas into new year's day.
An enjoyable, light read especially suited to winter and the Christmas period, but I'd advise wrapping up cosily whilst reading as the number of times Florence wears a soaked hoodie made me wonder why she didn't buy a waterproof coat!
Absolutely loved this. I love a story with witches and love at it's heart. Lots of examples of love friends family and new relationships.
Deals in grief and family loss.
A very quick easy read left me feeling cozy and warm.

Who don't love coffee with a bit of witchy ness. I haven't read this author before, I was not disappointed. The flow was smooth and perfect. Five stars.
ARC from Netgalley
This book was... something. From the description and cover it seemed like it should be a romance novel, but it definitely wasn't. The enemies to lovers trope was there, but there was no build up and all of a sudden they were together and it was done. It was more of a book about saving a coffeeshop with some brief interactions between the two.
I was interested in this solely because I'm a sucker for any witch book, but that also left me wanting. I felt nothing for any of the characters, except maybe the grandma, and even her arc ended on a very weird note.
Also I truly hate the title.
I love coffee and I would love to drink coffee with the MacKenzies at the Yurt.
A fun cozy filled with family, miscommunication and love.
A feel good story that will brighten your day.
This lovely book will warm your heart when a family works to keep their coffee house and to compete with a big coffee chain. The women are intriguing and fierce. There's attraction and a slow to build romance that is just magical. I loved this sweet book and there's more to come. Be warned, this book will have you craving a coffee and romance.
In the small town of Windia where all of the residents drink coffee and become involved in the lives of each other, there is a coffee shop fun by magical women. Florence has recently come home for the holidays and immediately gets involved in the coffee shop that is owned by the family. A stranger shows up in town to bring competition that will put their coffee shop in je0pardy. Florence and her grandmother tried a banishment spell to run him off. In addition, Florence created a challenge between the two. The woman also started using a new blend of coffee beans which has made the residents start falling in love with each other. This is a fun story that I highly recommend.
