This was a delightful christmas read that I thoroughly enjoyed, as I always do with a Karen King book. great characters and a fun premise.

After Lexi finds out her boyfriend is having an affair, she goes home for Christmas - determined not to let the break-up spoil her family’s Christmas. However, when she arrives home and finds out the town’s Christmas tree isn’t decorated. However Lexi is determined to save the tree, and Joel may just be able to help her.

I liked this way more than I expected! It’s like a warm hug - it’s a cozy Christmas romance. It 100% should be made into a Hallmark movie.

Our December wasn't overly cold, and we had no snow. Reading this now in January with our frigid temperatures and snow feels more like Christmas book reading time.
I liked Lexi Forde's character, she's fun, loves Christmas, animals and is outgoing.
After a surprise visit to her boyfriend Ben's workplace reveals he's been cheating on her she decides to visit her family living two hours away for Christmas earlier than originally planned.
Her family is fun and quirky. I really enjoyed grandma, but more about her in a bit. Her parents own a bakery in Devon. Grandma has a better social life than most of the young people, is a rebel and Lexi is worried grandma is going to get arrested. In the story we have a town tradition where the town council decorates a huge tree in town and everyone sings carols, this year the town's people are in an uproar as the tree is slated to be torn down after being deemed unsafe. A dogsitter living close by has the sweetest dog he's watching for his sister. He's caring for her dog, and he may just be the one to heal her broken heart. Though predictable the story is cute, fun and I could imagine in my mind the hilarious antics taking place. It's a hug in a book and just what I needed to read now.

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

A festive bonanza!
I love a feel-good Christmas book, I read them year around and this one is right up there with my favourites, I loved it!!
It has all the festive magic; the sparkle and glitter, whether you like Christmas or not (I am on the not side) you can't help but smile and feel all Christmassy after this, I loved it!!
I think I said that, but it is true, it's wonderful and so easy to read, I loved the story the multi-generational characters and their lives all entwined into one. I loved the little village - I do love a little village where everyone knows each other and this is no different. The family at the centre of the story is just like any other, there are some real characters, especially the grandmother - she's a hoot!!
A definite must-read at any time of the year!!

This was a wonderful story that was so close to getting that 5th star. It was a great storyline, and I loved how the story evolved around a great family Christmas. The characters were brilliant, realistic, and so easy to love. I definitely became emotionally involved in the stories development. It made me feel very Christmasy and happy. I loved how the community became involved with saving the Christmas tree. I enjoyed the inclusion of knitted decorations all around the village. I loved the tree surgeon character he was wonderful in every way. It was an excellent romance novel that was so heartwarming. It's a real page turning story that I just couldn't put down. I just had to finish reading in one day. I really can't recommend this book enough you just have to give to a go. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating such a fantastic story that really got me in the mood for Christmas. I will definitely be looking out for more books by this amazing author.

Lexi is taking her boyfriend to her family home for a traditional Christmas. Everyone is extra excited because her brother and his family who live abroad are going to be there and it’s the first time since covid they can spend it together. There is a slight hiccup when she discovers he won’t be coming with her due to nefarious reasons. Then she finds the local carol service is under threat and feels her Christmas is falling apart. Can she put things, and herself, back together before the big day?

Cosy chick lit for Christmas, love Karen King! Highly recommend if this is your kind of read, just add hot chocolate!

(I actually read this a year ago, can’t believe I didn’t post my review! So sorry for the delay.)

When Lexi discovers her boyfriend is having an affair, it threatens to spoil her much-longed for perfect family Christmas after the Covid restrictions and so she resolves not to tell her family and to try her best not to let the pain in.
Lexi travels down to her family’s house alone and vows to have the best Christmas ever but discovers that the beloved Christmas tree on the green is about to be torn down and that the traditional carol concert cannot go ahead. Lexi is not about to let anything else get in the way of her festive celebrations and is determined to do all she can to save the village’s Christmas celebrations.
When she meets Joel, perhaps the answer to Lexi’s problems have been found.
This book was a great festive read, very warm and Christmassy.

A wonderfully warm Christmas read.
It's full of family, heartbreak, romance with a sprinking of Christmas magic which will get you well into the Christmas spirit.
After discovering her boyfriend is cheating, Lexi escapes to her family and joins in the fight to save the big tradition of decorating the village tree. She confronts the tree surgeon and plans to save the villages Christmas.
Her nan and her friends are an amusing part of the book, secretly yarn bombing the village.
I loved this book.

An enjoyable Christmas read filled with family, friendship, festivities and finding new romance.
I really liked following the ups & downs in the life of main character, Lexi. Fully-formed and believable characters set in a storyline that is enjoyable to read & keeps the reader interested throughout.
Perfect for reading over the cold winter months.

This was my first Karen King book and it didn't disappoint. It was one of my favorite Christmas books of 2021.

Lexi is supposed to be celebrating Christmas with her family and boyfriend, Ben. But she discovers him cheating and heads to her family alone. I really enjoyed her figuring how to have a great Christmas, despite the circumstances. Also, forget Ben....Joel is the best!

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Best Christmas Ever by Karen King was a great, feel good festive read. I struggled to put it down and I read it in one sitting. I really enjoyed reading about feisty Grandma Mabe who is a festive yarn bomber, it sounds a load of fun.

How many times did this book make me cry? I've no idea, but it's down to the talent of Karen King and the wonderful Devon village world she has created around Lexi. Lexi loves Christmas, she's even knitted matching Christmas jumpers for herself and her boyfriend Ben. But when she sees him kissing another woman she heads back to the family fold utterly heartbroken. Determined to keep the traditions going she embarks upon a campaign to ave the village fir tree so that locals can enjoy their annual carol service. Lexi goes up against Joel a tree surgeon who is supposed to cut down the tree before christmas. Does she save it? No spoilers form me! This was like a big warm hug. I LOVED all of the characters from Sweetie the rather spoil but highly amusing dog to Lexi's christmas loving dad to Lexi's hilarious grandma to Joel's neighbour Lloyd. It's a real treat - thank you Karen!
